Chapter One Hundred and Seventy Three

Third Person POV

Max left Ella with George and Sarah cause he want to see his father and know what exactly is going on. Ella asked Sarah and George to wait for her outside that she need to see her father and talk with him. Ella left them and walked towards where her father stood exchanging pleasantries with people and accepting their congratulations. Sarah and George sat inside the car waiting for Ella to come out so that they can go home. What do you think that Ella will say to her father when she get there? Sarah asked George.

I think she will ask her father to stop interfering in her life, he should stop controlling her life cause she is an adult and she is old enough to take some certain decisions in her life especially who she want to spend the rest of her life with, George answered. You are right, Sarah agreed with George. Ella walked towards her father, Dad can we talk? Ella requested. Ella dear am still talking with people give me some minutes to be through with them, Jerry told his daughter cause he is not ready to have that talk with her yet.

No I want to talk to you now, Ella insisted slightly raising her voice. Jerry noticed that his daughter is about to create a scene at any moment and he is not ready for such public display. Jerry excused himself from the group of people he was chatting with cause they are already exchanging suspicious look and he don't want to give all those gossipmongers among them what to gossip about. Okay what do you want to talk about? He asked Ella. I want to talk about the stunt you pulled today, Ella stated. Jerry gently guide his daughter towards a secluded area so that nobody will hear them or disturb their conversation.

When he is sure that nobody will hear them or disturb their conversation, he turned to his daughter, what were you saying? He asked her. Am asking what was the meaning of the stunt you pulled today, haven't I make myself clear enough to you, I thought I made it clear that I don't want you interfering in my life but clearly you did not get the message, Ella pointed out to her father. Come on Ella you should be thanking me for making it possible for you to be engaged to such caliber of guy despite the stunt you pulled last time, Jerry boasted to his daughter.

Thankful? Are you kidding me? I should be thankful that you are controlling my life? Is it not clear to you that this is the exact reason I ditched Blake and you are repeating the same thing with Max, are you not tired of going in the same cycle? Ella bombarded her father with questions. Ella stop I already did what I did today cause it's taking you forever to accept that young man so I decided to help you out, Jerry said nonchalantly. Help me out? How is that helping me out, only God knows what lies you told Mr Cobb's to accept to do this with you cause that man is not as selfish as you, Ella stated.

Jerry can't believe what he just heard from his daughter, did you just call me selfish? How am I selfish cause all am trying to do is to make you get married in a good home and you call it selfish? Jerry asked his daughter cause he still can't get how he is selfish. You mean not considering my feelings or asking for my opinion in matters as sensitive as this is you getting me married properly, what about my happiness or that doesn't bother you, Ella asked her father, tears are already welling up in her eyes.

Am your father and I know what's best for you, Jerry stated nonchalantly. That's where you are wrong cause you don't know what right for me one bit, do you know what my favorite color or favorite food the answer is no that's what someone that claims to be a parent is supposed to know, Ella said to her father. Jerry was about to say something but Ella cut him off cause she is not yet done. You know what am done with you cause am tired of you trying to control my life, you should look for someone else to control his or her life cause am not doing this anymore with you, Ella told her father.

Ella said those words but she is hurting cause at the end of the day he is still the only family she got and she still love her father despite everything but she have to do this cause her sanity matters to her a lot. You are not serious right? There is no way you will disown me cause am all that you have left in this world, Jerry said to his daughter trying to put a strong face but inside him he is praying that his daughter will not be serious with what she just uttered.

Yes you are right you are the only family I have left but it's very obvious that the only family I have left don't care about me or love me all you care about is your wealth and reputation, staying with you I feel so suffocated Mum feel that way too why she is still alive, I yearned for your love, care and attention all my life even Mum too, you don't care about anyone around you so long you are making your money other things don't matter to you, that's why you see me as a means of expanding your business not as a daughter, and the more I tried to gain your love and care the more you slap it to my face that I don't worth it, Ella said all that she stored in her heart all this while. Tears was streaming down her cheeks but she quickly wipe her tears promising herself that this will be the last time she will cry because of her father.

Jerry stood there looking at his daughter walk away from him probably from his life as well. He can't believe that all this while he is wrong, he thought that he is doing the right thing to make his family happy not knowing that he is going about it in the wrong way. Will I ever get my daughter back, it only take Ella standing up to him for him to know that he wronged his family deeply. He was born poor two of his siblings died because there is no money to take care of them and that made him the only surviving child of his parents. Been the only surviving child life have been very difficult for them, so when he started working and earning money he vowed to do everything in his power to make sure that his family will never lack. 

When he got married and his wife give birth to their daughter he turned all his focus towards building his empire to ensure that his daughter will never lack anything in life but in the process he lost himself. He no longer care about people that matters the most in his life, the same people he is working his ass off to ensure that they don't lack. He neglected them and the result of his neglect is that his wife died leaving only him and his daughter now his daughter left him.

Ella walked out of the place with tears streaming down her face, she can't believe that her father is okay with her disowning him. At the end of the day her father still prove to her that he don't care about her, Ella only wish that her father have a little love for her but no he don't. Why do you bring me into this world if you can't love me? That's the question Ella kept asking inside her.

Sarah saw her best friend coming with tears in her eyes, she rushed towards her blaming herself for allowing Ella to go on her own. What happened Ella? Sarah asked Ella when she reached her. She took Ella to the car cause she saw people looking at Ella and she don't want her best friend to be topic for their discussion. When they entered inside the car Ella burst out crying cause she can't hold it any longer cause her heart is aching.

George stepped out of the car cause he don't want to witness Ella bawling her eyes out and also he think it's best that his girlfriend handle the situation than him. Why can't he love me? Even if it's a little bit, Ella asked in the midst of her crying. Sarah already know that Ella is referring to her father but this is not the first time Ella is having issues with her father unless something that never happen before happened.

What actually happened Ella? Sarah asked. I disowned him, Ella answered still crying. Sarah gasped at what she heard, she can't believe that things have escalated to the extent of disowning. Do you know the worst part? Ella continued, Sarah shook her head indicating that she don't know. He don't care whether I disown him or not, Ella told Sarah while she continue crying.
