Remorseful Arsonist

Mo Hai is the cause of a large forest fire, and she is filled with remorse and regret. She used to think she was badass and awesome, but now she feels like a monster who has wrecked the home of lovely fuzzy small creatures.

And, despite the fact that the fire was quickly extinguished by rain, she still cannot forgive herself.

Not long ago, while fleeing the fire, they came across a village where the locals are strangely calm about a fire not far away, as if it were a typical day, as heavy rain began to fall from the clouds.

They met with the village head. And he let them stay in an empty house and provided them food and water, as well as leather and fur for the impending winter, which shocked her. Are there an alternative motive for letting them stay?

Now she's sitting on the floor, pondering her future, while Zou Guanting nearby played with the same lighter used to start the fire, attempting to recall how to stitch two pieces of animal skin together.

But then it occurred to him! They haven't fully introduced themselves to each other, and he doesn't even know what his sweet angel's name is.

But he likes calling her an 'angel', but he wants to know what it is since he is sure it is lovely as her. He's willing to give up his pride in order to find out what kind of name it is.

He stands up and walks over to her, asking, "What's your name?" He asks and sits in front of her, peering straight down into her soul, deep into her pair of black eyes that resemble prayer beads.

They appear innocent and welcoming. Like the lovely sun peeking through the heavy clouds.

"It's Mo Qiuyue, but everyone calls me 'Mo Hai.' My family wanted to change my name officially, but my mother was against it, so instead of changing it, they just started calling me that."

Zou Guanting nodded and added, "My name is Zou Guanting, but everyone calls me..." He just stopped talking leaving the sentence unfinished, that's the only name people call him that he likes.

Mo Hai tilted her head in wonder. "Calls you what?" she inquired, curious by Zou Guanting's nickname.

Zou Guanting reminisced about his past, revealing how he was ridiculed for his weight and dubbed "fatty" by his peers. Despite the nostalgia in his voice, his facial expression revealed no signs of anger or dismay.

Meanwhile, outside the house, the blonde man from earlier stood with a basket, attire contrasting to the fur kilts and loincloths the locals wore. His robe, reminiscent of a monk's attire, distinguished him from the other villagers.

Standing beside him is the village head, who sported a similar robe, accentuated by a headband that pulled back his silver locks.

Four other robed men accompanied them, each carrying baskets. The village head announced their arrival as he knocked on the door.

Rather than waiting for an invitation, they took the initiative and entered through the open door. The head of the village then expressed their customary practice of assigning tasks to newcomers as a way of integrating them into their community. With baskets of wheat dropped on the floor, the villagers had clearly come prepared.

The village head then introduced Liu Yifan, the Prince of the village and the future ruler of the land.

Yifan expressed his gratitude for their presence and explained that the baskets contained wheat to be used for their assigned tasks.

However, there was one question in Mo Hai and Zou Guanting's mind - how were they supposed to grind the wheat?

Zou Guanting was the first to air his words. "Isn't this a bit to much?" he asked. "What's the use of this? Alpacas only eat hay. And do you people have any sense at all? Trusting us to handle such grains, are you stupid?"

Liu Yifan was quick to snap back, "Isn't that a bit stereotypical? We don't just eat hay. Do your damn research!" Liu, however, soon regained his composure and controlled his temper.

"You foolish spit launcher! You can't just make us work like this as soon as we arrived here."

"We aren't making anybody work," another man chimed in, "It's just you who's going to work. We could never force a lady to do such dirty work."

Liu Yifan's eyes softened as his gaze fell on Mo Hai, as compared to how he looked at Zou Guanting.

"Now, let's get to work!" The man ushered Zou Guanting out of the brick house with a thin branch, even hitting him with it.

Zou Guanting cried out, "But I just got here!"
