Act II - Runaway

Chapter 1

It was the grand misfortune of Mr. Garret's life to be employed while his anxiety was to be known to its presence, though he was now standing against the door of a prison that was delighted with the presence of Evelyn, yet when he could move his feet, the demon endeavored to ascertain the difficulties in his life. The dark vapor perched his eyesight and the breeze had made it highly difficult, and before the wind could haze away, he opened his eyes, and the devil was accustomed to stay within himself.

"You must pay dear John, it is the only way to save yourself,"

And before John could be hesitant to move his lips, the demon had hewed the lifeless body of a woman who was purporting to be his sister, it was unnecessary to say that the horror was vivid to an extent that it not only deterred him fearer but it deterred his anger as well. The guilt of his mother's face and the demon that may be held waiting for him to submit, though not this time, not today as he spoke to himself.

"You are not here!" he whispered in his teeth while he woke his eyes.

"I have no fear for you to feed on," he looked straight into the eyes of The Demon, Mr. Garret kneeled to a lifeless body and presented his words as those were washed with rage.

"Oh, I wonder why I have no guilt for you? I do not have any feelings for you anymore, so do not dare to haunt me, Do not!"

He rose and before he could come back to his senses The Demon walked up to him, and its heavy breath fell apart onto the weary face that was awash with the perspiration.

"I did! I did what others had done if they were to replace me, So do not dare to judge me, you wicked bastard! Go away, today I am obliged with my work!" he said while his face had no hint of any emotions, and his eyes could not dare to blink until The Demon had whisked away within the air. The prison, had the vacant of the people as it was intended to be, the drought of people was in favor of Mr. Garret this time because no one had witnessed the perilous act of himself!

The door creaked before it had avow the light that carried Mr. Garret to Evelyn, She was employed to look afar through the drenched window, the rain had begun its footsteps though there were no whispers to haunt Evelyn in the prison anymore, yet she could not hesitate to wonder who were to replace her in the same room of the asylum.

"Hello Evelyn," Mr. Garret sat down with a smile,

"Hello sir, I am afraid to ask but what may have been the reason for you to come during this weather?"

"I was curious enough to see you by myself though let me congratulate you for your departure from The Asylum,"

"No need sir, It is all the same, though these walls do not whisper to me anymore as they did when I was detained here,"

"Perhaps the asylum has done its job,"

"Perhaps, you are right,"

Mr. Garret looked into her eyes that were locked onto the window, The greenery was bright yet the cloud stated the plain plan of itself, the rain to continue pouring, Mr. Garret wished to employ himself with the work yet the chirping of falling rain hindered his prosperous intentions.

"I see, you do not like rain," said Evelyn

"We must focus on our work here,"

"I can see it in your eyes, sir, may I venture to ask What is Your SIN?"

"Someday, someday you will be allowed to ask my sin but I am afraid it is not today, now Would you be kind enough to give me your letters?"

"Ah, you do have sin to talk about yet not today but someday,"

"That is correct, now Evelyn, provide me your letter,"

The copious annoyance had displayed all around his face while he addressed her oratorically and with his impatient self as if it was time to take some desperate course of action.

"I am afraid I made no memorandum for your perusal, Ah look The rain has taken its course higher, perhaps I can say it myself for you, shall I?"

Mr. Garret rose and walked to the window, As was expected, the rain had become heavier, he grunted and then returned to his old position.

"Shall I begin, sir?"

"Ah yes, go on."

"The lifeless body of Uncle had prostrated against my eyes, no matter what had occurred to me, it may never desert me from the horror of my sins, I was to stand still with Jenny beside myself and as I was very well-known to the fact that I was to deploy onto a prison, perhaps I may hang for my crime and for sure Jenny will be lured with their affable words and he will enter into a world of men that reeked with such meekness and I was afraid for that, I did not know if the man had been waiting for my uncle to resolve whatever problems we had or not or say he had already paid for Jenny or not though it did not matter anymore, I was no girl to provide any satisfactory to such a half-man. So I hastened and tried to unlock the door but to my dismay, it had been locked from the outside, Perhaps, it was a poor erring of Uncle when he entered or his luck had already deserted himself, yet I had no such vile intention to stay awhile one inquisitive person had come in search of Uncle, and as I looked around, perhaps for a way for us to run away! So to my surprise, I spotted a hole underneath a wooden wall behind though only Jenny was in such shape to fit in, sir I may wonder to ask you, what would have you decided if you were to have my position in this regard, are you to send Jenny to safety in the favor of his own sake or say would you venture to ask Jenny to go round and have the door unlock, perhaps in this manner he may very well be seen by the modest eyes of such guests who gave their presence in the matter of my discernment of slavery to my uncle. Perhaps you would be selecting the first option in which Jenny will be buffeted in the most inexpressible manner by the cruel world though no one within the guests will have their eyes on Jenny and you may sacrifice yourself for the poor life of himself, Am I right? Sir? Though if you may tend to seek what I had selected then I asked Jenny to have his fortitude and open the door for me as well. I locked my eyes on Jenny while he slid away from me onto the hole, and I, the meekness of temper myself, of course intelligibly I knew that I was wanted in the gorgeous events up ahead if this may never have happened, say besides my uncle and have him kiss my lips while I declare my submission up against the multiple eyes, now they may wait for eternity and Uncle would never have shown up in front of their eyes, now sir, as I was employed to look at the pity of my uncle Jenny had opened the door and as he finished his part of work I saw some that had

their eyes onto us, perhaps they had noticed the unfamiliarity within the door as not my uncle but a child was detained to open the door, I quickly rushed out of the dorm and had Jenny within myself then I announced to him to run with me, the guests hovered over the cabin while I stopped at afar and looked back while they were to hold a minute for them to capture what had happened, by the time they had their conscious to have their mind about me I was gone for good, away, I am sure that they must have locked the view of the head of my uncle, I had buffeted it so badly that he may well be very far from the point of discerning, that this will very much be alive in their moment until they would be sent deep into the ground, ah look sir, the rain has been ceased, shall I stop now?"

At her particular question, Mr. Garret rose to arrange himself to have a look at the rain while she returned to the employment she was so absorbed with before Mr. Garret had entered the room. The rain had done cascading, and now he shall return to the place of his sojourn, he returned to the chair and had his eyes delighted with her hands moving briskly within a cloth that she was intended to sew, perhaps for herself as Winter was not very far and Mr. Garret observed she had no vile intentions to depend upon the authorities to have her provide the needs for winter.

"Sir, if it is no bother then may I begin once again?"

"Ah, I am afraid to have you stop here, I must go now, perhaps you may continue your story in letters?"

"Sure sir, I will be very much delighted to write once again, I am to have begun liking the session of writing."

Mr. Garret rose with a smile on his cheeks and held his hat, Evelyn stood still as she had her employment to finish. Mr. Garret nodded and wore his hat.

"Take care of yourself and do not forget to send me the letters."

"Yes sir, I will not dare to forget it." She addressed him oratorically as Mr. Garret vacated the room in his most urbane manner, The sky was already free of the dark clouds as he found a chaise straight upon, waiting patiently.

The dull breeze swayed across and he stepped his foot onto the hallway where The maid was slumbering at the time, he had not shown his appearance against the eyes of her until he left for Norfolk and what else, the news had returned to him in regard of Evelyn being freed from the asylum when he arrived at the town of judicious people that is to say London, though now he was there in the authority of the maid, perhaps of the clerical friend. She was prostrated on the sofa when he walked up to her. Her soft and calm sleepy face had him discern his feelings, such liberality towards a low aristocratic foreigner and such feelings of guts to have his free time to be spent under the precept's guidance of herself. Anyway, he forced himself to attempt to wake her, he had scarcely laid his fingers onto her yet she had woken up from that, her eyes employed to look round before she caught the hem sight of her dearest person, she jumped with her delightful eyes and expressed her desire in a tight hug.

"Oh dear, Your absence was only apprehension for me, it only did me despair," her hands tightened round him, and to his surprise, he seldom found himself not having his rushed feelings to be placed under restraints so he obliged himself to enlighten his hands as well.

"I would not dare to leave you, not in that manner," they parted with those words,

"Sir, I must seek your forgiveness for I was such an insolent in our last conversation,"

"Do not worry dear, our relationship was never to be at a point in which we require such mending,"

She smiled and freed Mr. Garret from her astonishment, Mr. Garret locked his eyes on her for a moment and assured her beauty within himself, the eyes that remarkably tell the stories that lie within, though her smile had the work of hiding the scars.

"Do you want a cup of tea?" asked The Maid

"No…. No, perhaps I want to have a conversation,"

"With whom? Sir?"

"With you, of course," said Mr. Garret, She sighed and hesitated before she asked the question,

"For what purpose sir?"

"Well, say I have my reasons to have some knowledge about you,"

"We are poor inquisitive creatures, aren't we sir? Sit down, I will talk when I provide some tea for you,"

"Oh do not bother, your tea makes me torque,"

She laughed at the joke of deception, and her fingers tightened round her white dress, to say a lot about her appearance, her dress – a shawl, and gown of all white colors, a bracelet that remarked with a portrait of lily rose to enlighten her wrist, not expensive but very delicate, it reflected the opposite of what he was met in the barn of Evelyn.

"Perhaps one cup could not mean much harm to you," she dispersed onto the kitchen before hearing the response of Mr. Garret, the next occurrence was of the cloud as it slurred the rage within itself again, the rain which was as annoying as a child could be for Mr. Garret, perhaps the rain had the sadness for him, though before he could pour his thoughts on the subject anymore The Maid had shown her appearance.

"Here you go, sir," the cup slid down onto the table.

"Now, you shall begin your conversation," she said after situating herself on the chair.

"Perhaps I have some questions to ask of you,"

Mr. Garret took a sip and then proceeded to have his mind relief from the peremptory questions.

"I am in awe of your efforts of how you are so able to handle this enormous house by yourself, so I wonder if this house is employed to your family, suppose your mother and some bad illness has trembled her to bed so…."

Before he could complete his sentence she had intervened and so she added the later words by herself.

"And so that I am to force against my will to have this work for taking care of my mother or that I am to assist my mother in the tenure of her convalescence, no sir, you are wrong in this regard, to say the least, I have no mother," she took a sip of her tea before she ventured to have her eyes sigh away from Mr. Garret to a Window.

"I must beg your pardon, I should not dwell on this part of the subject any longer but perhaps you can provide me satisfactory if I may ask regarding your father or say family, of course, if it is no affliction to you"

"Oh no sir, I am very willing to make a concession satisfactory for you, though I am very well grieved to say that I have no father or family as well,"

"May I venture to know what has happened to your family?"

"Sure sir, though there is not much to say regarding my father, I never did meet him, yet there is a lot for me to say regarding my mother, sir, I persist in saying that there are no happy memories for me to recall,"

Mr. Garret stopped and retired to his rejoiced calamity of mind as it left him in a most hostile manner, his thoughts had detained the vile preposterous, and intrusive birds that were to require shelter from the rain while they stood near the window, though he had no more thoughts to provide to the birds awhile the most urbane manner of The Maid caught the attention, she rose and opened the window to make way for the birds and to Mr. Garret's surprise the birds were seemed to trust the sweet aroma and lovely face of The Maid.

"Should you tell me what has happened to your mother?"

The maid swirled her hands within her hair as his inquisitive questions persisted in her evening time.

"I suppose the debility or let me say in clearer words, poorness had got to her and it left her dead,"

"I must beg your forgiveness for asking such personal yet malicious questions to you, pardon me if I have given you pain with my cruel questions,"

"Oh do not bother, there is no expectation of me to have a memorandum in the name of my mother, she was in such manner a vagabond, a torque imprudent whore!"

Mr. Garret chuckled and proceeded to leave the vacant cup, before he could say a word again he took to satisfy himself with the greater sight of cessation of the bad weather.

"The weather seems to be such unpredictable here in England, sometimes it holds such a gloomy view though I daresay that most of the time it is delicate in needed times,"

"I suppose so, though I have never been out of the country myself so I am in no position to talk rubbish about the weather,"

"Would you be kind enough to travel if you have to receive a chance?"

"For sure sir, I will be very happy to leave this beast country," The Maid replied instantly as those words deserted the lips of Mr. Garret, and before they knew the silence permeated the room, the sudden scream of such silence that Mr. Garret wished to break it with the pretext of glaring question yet again.

"Permit me to put one asking to you on a vast subject of requirements in case me knowing you better,"

"Go on,"

"I have not been acquainted with your name since I arrived in this place, perhaps it is my mistake that I never took the honour to ask of your name, so should you tell me now?"

The maid looked very attentively at the vacant cup before rising to the position, she set one or two things right in the hall-way then proceeded to have a sight on Mr. Garret, her eyes sighed away from the view of such silence that only sought answers though Mr. Garret at the time waited for her reply while amused with her ability to how she could change the subject with so ease or with her ignorance that he had hesitated before asking yet again.

"What is there so hindrance for you to reveal your name to me?"

"I suppose it is not so much required in our position," she said after catching the cascading leaves in the pot that was situated near the window then she smiled at him, and proceeded to leave.

"Would you not dismiss my mystery?" he interrupted The Maid, she turned as a smile stole her face.

"If you are in so much need of that then I suppose I will declare it to you," she spoke with extreme feeling and kindness but the lady decided to stick to stay at the door.

"Sir, as you seek to know, My name is Eleanor Sallow."
