It was a few months after their stay at Pentos and the trio was currently located in a big uninhabited island the sailors of the Iron Islands found by coincidence, far west from even Westeros.
Irene was smirking as Bellatrix and Thomas stood opposite her with narrowed eyes, preparing for a fight.
Bellatrix and Thomas nodded at each other as they sprang into action.
Bellatrix quickly transfigured humongous house-sized rock into a golem, making it rush at Irene while Thomas stomped on the ground, sending vibrations through it, raising it like a wave made of water as it flowed towards Irene.
Irene seeing their opening rolled her shoulders mockingly as she just sent a scarlet bolt at the tsunami of dirt in front of her, enchanting it to part ways.
A big hole appeared in front of her, the earth tsunami completely missing her as even the golem was disrupted and crumbled into a pile of rocks.
The second it did so, it revealed Thomas who was hiding behind it. He jumped at Irene, engaging her in a violent melee. His fists furiously swung at her joints, soft tissue, and easily penetrated places in order to deal the maximum amount of damage.
Irene knew even she would be a little shaken if his punch hit her body. His vibrations could reach her organs and that was a big no-no. She parried every punch perfectly with her staff in a flurry of fast motions.
Thomas tried to hit her from the right, aiming at her cheek only for her staff to slap its tip against his fist, sending it off the course. He didn't dally and instantly send his left hand in an uppercut that was promptly backstepped by Irene as her staff was swung on Thomas's head.
He ducked up the swing, pivoting on his heel, spinning his body into a low round-house kick at Irene's mid-section from her left side.
Irene, still smirking, was about to block it with her staff when suddenly spikes rose from the ground behind her and to the right of her courtesy of Bellatrix, forcing her to lean into the kick in order to avoid them. Irene's foot impacted the ground, sending her magic into it in a quick enchant as it rose into a pillar on her left side, reaching up to her bust, stopping Thomas's kick
With a huff, Thomas increased the weight of his feet and the gravity pushing it towards the pillar, breaking it upon impact, sending splinters at Irene who was now side-stepping spikes conjured by Bellatrix as her rocky creations were getting closer, fully coated in the vilest poisons, Dark Arts residue, and acids known to Bella.
The splinters forced Irene to pay more attention to her left side.
With a quick slam of her staff to the ground they were enchanted into feathers but her slight lapse in focus made it possible for one of the rocky beasts to jump Irene from her right side as she wasn't paying attention. It got close, Irene barely managing to evade its jaw snapping on her shoulder.
Unfortunately for her, the beast was coated in a dark liquid that was constantly being evaporated into the air around it and Irene got into contact with it. Her magic pulsed as it instinctively tried to get rid of the tainting substance, giving an opening to Thomas.
His kick getting increasingly closer to Irene's chest, distracting her from fighting the corrosion. She dealt easily enough with Thomas as her staff impacted his abdomen faster than he could react, sending him flying away.
Irene was surrounded by rocky jagged beasts covered in various sickly, disgusting-looking colors. She spun on her heel in a clockwise motion, pointing the tip of her staff to the ground as she was enchanting the ground to produce earthen spikes, impaling every creature around her the same time the tip pointed in its direction.
The three combatants were in their initial position. Bellatrix happily smiled at getting her corrosion into Irene as next to her, Thomas was standing up, shrugging the kick off.
Irene stood opposite them. She released her magic, instantly evaporating any and all influence the taint could have on her with sheer force, making Bella's smile freeze as a scowl appeared on her face.
"My turn." Irene quipped sweetly.
The world rose.
From the right and left side of Bellatrix and Thomas, thick flexible trees grow at an insane pace, trying to squash them like bugs.
Bellatrix quickly spun to the left and started transfiguring the coming trees into butterflies and promptly ordering them to fly above Irene and change back, only to be changed to the air by Irene's enchant upon reaching ten meters from her.
Thomas turned to the left, intensively vibrating the air, sending a shockwave after shockwave towards the wave of wood, continuously ripping the trees to bits.
Suddenly, he quickly kicked the ground, ripping a disk under himself and Bellatrix with his vibration magic, and made it weightless with weight magic, sending it into the air.
The second the disks rose, carrying them to the sky, they quickly saturated the small pieces of ground with their magic in order to make them useless for Irene's enchant as they watched the ground they previously stood to change into thick vines, ready to devour anything coming close to it.
They lost their foothold.
Nodding at each other, Bellatrix started to continuously conjure big house-sized boulders as Thomas vibrated them in a certain direction, making them spin at insane cutting speeds and proceeded to fling them at Irene one by one as Bellatrix conjured more of them.
The sky was filled with flying spinning spheres of jagged rock with razor-sharp edges but before they could impact the ground, uncountable Irene's scarlet bolts flew up, impacting the boulders, destroying them mid-air.
In the air above the island, the spinning balls of doom and scarlet bolts of destruction were continuously fighting over dominance as both sides refused to relent.
Bellatrix secretly started to add her corrosive black liquids to the balls that will be released upon their destruction and as Irene's bolts impacted those, the island was washed by a rain of thick black disgusting liquid, creating a dark mist of corruption all around it, mixing with the scarlet of Irene's bolts for a second before she ceased to cast them.
The vines instantly withered, the bark of the trees dried up as their trunks started cracking, even the ground was turning black, signaling it is contaminated, dead. The air was corrupted, unbreathable as even coming into contact with it would be fatal due to its acidic properties.
Irene was not panicking though. She enchanted a ball of air around herself, keeping her body out of the reach of the corrosive mist. This however made her stop her enchanted barrage of bolts and the spinning cutters of rock impacted the island, ravaging it, sending the blackened ground flying all around as chunks of the islands were cut out from it by the numerous spinning boulders.
Irene enchanted more protective barriers around herself with gritted teeth as she was on the defensive while more and more balls were flung at her, only to bounce off her barriers right at the island, devastating it. Annoyed, Irene pulsed her magic, feeding it into the entire island.
Bellatrix was madly cackling when she saw the devastation and destruction she caused while Thomas just awkwardly flung more balls onto Irene when both of them felt the surge of magic and instantly made their disks carry them away from the island.
The entire island changed, as the rock was smashed together, molded, compressed into something more durable. Bellatrix's and Thomas's eyebrows rose as the island-sized golem rose up, suddenly the dark mist was blown away by the force of a humongous rocky hand reaching for them, visibly creating a current of air pushing away from itself.
"Owww, I won't be able to transfigure that in time." Bellatrix wistfully uttered, as she longingly stared at the approaching danger.
Rolling his eyes, Thomas sent a crashing wave of gravity onto it from above while also raising the weight of the hand. Its course promptly changed as its sheer weight sent it back into the sea under them as ten meters high waves started raging across the ocean due to the sheer force of the impact.
The duo didn't have time to observe the fury of the sea under them as many crimson bolts started to fly at them from all directions yet again.
Not having time to prepare counter-barrage of any kind, Thomas concentrated gravity around himself into a ball, layering it, making it incredibly hard for the magic to penetrate it while he also vibrated the air, creating shockwaves and sending them away from him in all directions. This either changed the course or mitigated the force behind the scarlet bolts.
Bellatrix was a little more innovative as she apparated behind Thomas before he encompassed himself with the gravity and hugged his back with a satisfied moan, completely trusting him to protect her.
As Thomas stood there, annoyed at the continuous barrage of Irene's artillery spells he suddenly felt a pulse from the bracelet around his right wrist.
He, in a slit of a second, created a massive shockwave around himself, crushing every bolt, the island, even the waves in the sea around into a pulp, creating a bowl-shaped dent under his position spanning through kilometers, completely erasing the entire island.
The battlefield stilled for a second as water started to quickly fill the dent.
"Fan-fucking-finally!"
Thomas said as he sent a feeling of 'urgency' and 'rest' to Irene who shielded herself from his shockwave with her barrier enchantment and Bella who released her hug at realizing the situation as he promptly used the bracelet to portkey towards it counterpart.
