Ch29. Daenerys Stormborn, er, Targaryen

The trio arrived in Pentos and with the identity of Belserion Trade high officials, swiftly gained accommodations at Illyrio's place.

Illyrio was very welcoming towards them as Belserion Trade was well known in the entire world. But he was still secretive.

Irene, Bellatrix, and Thomas sat in the bed in their luxurious assigned room, just chilling after they chased away all servants slash spies.

"That Illyrio guy is annoying. So many lies..." Bellatrix gave a childish tantrum as she waved her hands in the air. "What 'there are no other guests', what 'I will assign you the best room I have'! I call bullshit!"

"Well, he did stare at me like a perverted monkey the entire time so it is not really a surprise his mind couldn't distinguish what his mouth uttered." Irene smirked.

"It's pretty much obvious he wanted to hide the existence of Targaryens, Bellatrix. And Irene, I know you want to roar him to forevermore but remember, we are his guests." Thomas sighed.

"For now." Irene added for him mischievously.

...

It was the afternoon of the second day of being Illyrio's guests and Thomas decided to pay the little girl a visit.

Finding her was extremely easy. When you search for a magical being and there is only one in the entire town then of course you will be able to find it!

He sneaked through the mansion and entered the gardens. He followed her magical signature until he reached a tall vines covered wall. But his senses were telling him she was right there, behind the wall.

"Looks like Daenerys is quite good at hiding herself." He mused appraisingly as he spotted a part of the wall missing. The opening was still covered in thick vines hanging from the top of the wall so it was very well hidden. So well, Thomas even marveled at how did the girl find it!

He silently entered and an ethereal sight welcomed him.

Daenerys was sitting on tall grass. The entire place was shadowed from the sun by the vines, providing a soothing shade. Only a few rays of light fell on Dany's small hourglass figure clad in luxurious looking cloth hanging on her body, still showing enough to be inviting and enticing. Her silvery tresses waved according to the soft warm breeze as her amethyst gaze was intently locked on the fishes in the glittering pond in front of her admiring the fishes dancing around her feet inside. She was humming a slow song that sounded quite depressing to Thomas.

He approached the girl, making sure she didn't notice him, before his hands tightly clasped her shoulders.

He was almost laughing when he saw her body jerk up, unable to rise due to his arms, as her eyes widened in fright.

"Wh- wha- who!" She barely stammered out jumpily, warily snapping her head in Thomas's direction.

"Hello, little 'Daly'." Thomas's wide mirthful knowing smirk peered at her surprised expression as her right hand unknowingly reached towards the bracelet on her left wrist. Seeing her reaction, Thomas continued. "So, you do remember, don't you?"

Daenerys was blushing from the tips of her hair to her toes as she remembered the kind man who helped her. She shuddered at what would be her life if the man in front of her didn't give her that gold-filled pouch. She would have probably spent the majority of her time curled up in a ball due to hunger in some side-alley as she tried to avoid being raped while her brother was... Better not think about that.

"Hello... uhm, Thomas, right?" She asked unsurely, continuing only when she saw his nod. "You didn't change at all." She bashfully told him in wonder.

"Well, I blame my wife's vast vitality." Thomas offhandedly quipped and smirked as he saw Daenerys take it the wrong way, her blush deepening as her gaze shifted away from him. Suddenly he got an overpowering urge to tease the poor girl.

"You, on the other hand, really did become a big girl, didn't you?" He said as he swept her body with his gaze, making her meekly squeak as she put her hand protectively over her shapely chest.

"Pervert." She muttered, nibbling at her lower lip.

"Me? I would never!" Thomas mockingly put his hand on his chest, pretending to be hurt. It was only when he saw her eyes rise towards his and soften in apology that he continued playfully. "It is you who is here almost naked, my Lady."

Daenerys blankly looked at him. Until she realized what he just said, that is. She comically widened her eyes, her free hand quickly reaching between her legs and firmly pressing the cloth to her privates, as her flush deepened. The clothes her brother demanded of her to wear were indeed quite indecent. But no matter how much she protested, he wouldn't budge.

So this is the meek girl who allowed her brother to basically sell her with words he wouldn't mind if even horses raped her, Thomas sighed sadly, musing about how to give her a little self-respect and back-bone.

"So, I guess these clothes were given to you by your brother?" He carefully asked, probing the waters.

"Yes..."

For the first time, he saw some kind of chance Daenerys will stop being stubborn in following her brother's wishes. A reluctance of sort flashed through her eyes as he mentioned her brother... well, it was progress from her previous vehement refusal to leave his side at least.

"I still won't leave my brother." She quietly confirmed but Thomas saw it was mostly to strengthen her wavering resolve than answering his unasked question. The encounter with them must have really made her more open towards the bitter truth, it seems

He shrugged uncaringly and pointed at her bracelet.

"Just don't take that off and remember its function."

Her eyes widened but her lips morphed into a sweet sincere smile.

"Thank you. For everything." She looked to the ground, slowly letting her hands leave her breasts and crotch in a show of trust towards Thomas.

"Well, Daly, will you tell me your name?" Thomas asked in bemusement at her actions. If a man, any man wanted to rape this sweet innocent lamb, she would not be able to protect herself by covering her privates. He almost got an urge to shake his hand at her pointless actions. She was really like a lamb waiting for slaughter in that sense.

"You already know, don't you?" She pouted childishly in a huff, as she surprisingly realized she feels completely at ease next to this man. Her body relaxed and she started enjoying the banter.

"Yes, yes, I do." He said in a drawl, intensifying her pout. "But I want to hear it from your own lips."

"Ah..." A timid smile returned to her face as she started introducing herself. "I am Daenerys Stormborn... er, Targaryen." She corrected herself quickly as she saw Thomas's unimpressed stare.

"I see. As you know already, I am Thomas Cair, Dany."

Daenerys pressed her lips together at her new nickname, quite liking the ring of it as it left the lips of the man in front of her. She widened her eyes as she caught her eyes to stray to his lips and felt ashamed of herself for even thinking such things.

"So, Dany. Tell me, how was life treating you?" Thomas asked, trying to get her out of her sudden shyness. Daenerys timidly raised her head as she sweetly scrunched up her nose.

She was at first unwilling to narrate her boring life and felt quite an embarrassment and gratitude to Thomas because without him her life would not be only boring but also...

"I..." Preventing herself from thinking about 'what-ifs' she started to narrate the story of her life.

They bantered until the evening when Daenerys had to leave for dinner but Thomas was quite surprised when the girl forgot herself and pressed her lips on his cheek as a goodbye.

She was nearing the opening in the wall as he still held his cheek where her soft lips lingered and suddenly couldn't help himself and call out to her.

"Dany." She meekly turned around, smoke almost rising from her head. "This is probably the last time we see each other as I am leaving tomorrow morning but!" He emphasized the 'but' and continued with a stern and serious gaze. "Remember, nobody can save you if you do not want to be saved."

Getting a small unsure nod in return she left, leaving Thomas to ponder if the sweet girl decides to care more about herself before it would be too late as he knew tomorrow is the day the sweet lamb will be told the oh so joyous news.
