——
AiLin didn't believe that the man would confirm so openly that he was about to hit a woman right in front of others. His height towered her, his arms doubled her size. A grip of his fingers on her wrist could facture her bones and the girl who had seduced him earlier was thinner than her, meaning that the hold wouldn't only fracture her bones but break it for good.
He was such a big strong man but going against a woman?
"You're putting a shame to all men," AiLin said with her teeth gritted. She knew that the more handsome a man here that personality would usually be either too trashy or something would be up deep inside his mind.
The man let out a deep chuckle. He stared at her and she felt her own skin tingling at his stare. She could see his gaze staring at her entire body, his gaze noting down her features so slowly as if he was going to etched everything he saw deep inside his head. He twisted his hand, forcing her to let go of his arm and then return to hold back to her wrist, putting her in one spot.
"What about you? You had just watched me being assaulted by her yet you are still standing there thinking it is none of your business right?" The man inquired back at her, making her heart to jump.
She frowned. Assaulted? This man was being assaulted? She did saw this girl being pushy and too seducing but was that an assault?
The line of seduce and assault was so thin especially when she put herself to the man's shoes and eventually realized that the girl could be in verge of assaulting him as he did refused to be touched.
She slowly reconsider her action and noted that the man's lips seemed to curl as he watched her expression change, making her to frown. The air slowly became tense with their eyes locked to one another, one thinking how to escape and one wanting to hold tighter to her hand, to keep her in her place.
While still holding to her hand, AiLin saw the man pulling up something from his pocket before throwing it to the floor. He then narrowed his eyes and pointed her words at the girl who was still coughing while rubbing to her neck that had turned red, "Take this as your last warning. The next time you appear in front of me and touched me again after I warned you, best believe that death would be a blessing to you."
If it was others who had threatened to kill others, AiLin would have scoffed at the remark. But this man's words were so malicious that she could feel his sincerity behind his words. He really would kill this girl if she had showed her face again. The girl, appearing paler by seconds quickly scrambled to take the object from the floor and escaped from the hallway, leaving AiLin alone with this crazy man.
She reached out her hand to the girl, trying to stop her but then found herself unable to say anything as the girl had ran and disappeared in matters of seconds. She slowly turned her head, finding the man who had continued to staring back at her face, gouging her facial muscles.
Seeing her face that was still skeptical with a frown to disagree with his action, the man smiled and continued to explain, "She is someone who would always follow me, a stalker you see. Today was a good day to me but then she came to harass me again so I was a little too annoyed. But trust me I would have done that to a normal innocent person, let alone a woman. I have proofs that she had harassed me for over half a year if you are still unsure."
He seemed sincere and AiLin could tell. She had spent her time inside the prison for far too long that she knew when someone would lie and when they don't. "I see, I only saw that you laid a hand on her and thought that you were the one who had assaulted her. I was wrong," she said sincerely. "However the next time please do not resort to violence and bring security or police, or maybe shout for help. If I heard it, I would have helped."
The man didn't respond. He continued to stare at her as if counting each lashes attached on her eyes. She slowly felt uncomfortable by that strong gaze of him and the fact that his hold on her wrist was so tight and impossible to escape from.
"You asked if I was a man didn't you?" He chuckled faintly before cutting the distance between them. With one step he took, she found herself taking two steps back until she felt her back hitting the cold wall behind her. She found this stance to be alarming and quickly narrowed her eyes. The bad experiences she went through in the prison made her learn that when someone backed you to a wall it was time to hit them by the jaw.
Before she could do anything, the man who seemed to notice the flash of anger that appeared on her eyes released his hold and crossed his arms. He then spoke again, "Do I have to prove you that I am a man?"
Earlier she had thought that he was reasonable but now she realized he was just another piece of douchebag. She narrowed her eyes in irk, "What an asshole."
The man placed one hand before his mouth and let out a chuckle, "That's not the first time I have heard those words uttered to me." Seeing her furrowing her eyebrows even tighter, he raised his arms, "Chill. Calm down. I was really joking. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding and I wasn't going to harm you or anything." His tone became rather relaxed and even mischievous as he said, "I was simply in a bad mood since women like that often comes up to me. My apologies if that made you feel uncomfortable instead."
"Women like that? Stalkers you mean?" She asked back to him who sighed. When he moved his hand subtly, she could see the black tattoo that climbed from the gaps of his cuffs to his ring finger. The way the snake had coiled around his ring finger appeared like a wedding band. Seeing it made her stare for a couple of second, not knowing that her eyes were being dad by the man himself.
He replied, "Yes and women who would throw their bodies to me. I don't usually react that badly but when they touch me, I rather find myself reacting a bit too violent."
A bit too violent? Was choking someone before throwing them to the floor was just "a bit"? She could have swore she saw his eyes turning murderous but she wondered if it was wrong because she had spent her last six years in prison always in alertness.
AiLin saw his eyes that had dramatically turned dark, meaning that being touched by a woman without his will really did affected him. Somewhere seeing his handsome face, she could understand why those girls would find themselves liking him but that wasn't a good answer in assaulting someone, even if he is a man who seemed capable enough to protect himself. What those girls did was the same as men assaulting another woman.
She sighed, "That's concerning. If it happens once or twice, that's one thing but for it to happen so often," she commented, "I think you would need to hire more people to guard for you." From what she could see now, he seemed loaded. The watch he wore could pay off for this entire hotel, right?
When she questioned why someone like him would be here in this hotel, she heard him chuckle. He said, "Usually they wouldn't be able to come near me but," he drawled.
"But?"
"I came up to this hotel and they have a rather terrible security. The hotel I frequent to wouldn't have failed this way in their security area."
Hm? "Then why did you come here if you knew this hotel has a bad security?" She asked out of curiosity, asking the question before she realised her own words.
The man was wordless as he looked at how AiLin was studying his attire in each peak. It seemed she had taken a new skill from the prison, a skill to learn of her enemy before she faced it. It is indeed a good skill but to have her learn such skill from prison made his jaw to clench. He also noticed some bruises and cut on her skin, those cuts that made him frown as it seemed rash and new and something he couldn't stop from happening. As he flexed his fists, thinking if there would be a way for him to find out where had she gotten those new cuts his mind was brought back from the daze by AiLin's honey-like voice.
"Hello?" AiLin waved her hand in front of his face, "Hail to Strange Mister. Where did your mind go to?"
