Unexpected

Today is the day I start my escape. I have been planning and training for the last five days. I have been pushing my newest quirk to the max every day until I fell asleep. I have found out the best ways to escape, but the most crucial part of my plan is killing Nathen.

If I don't kill him he will still be able to make my movements stop, and he would make it easy for me to be found. It is good that today is his monthly check-up.

I plan on making use of my most dangerous gases to immobilize, disorient, and kill him before he can command me to stop.

He usually visits exactly two hours after lunch, so I went ahead and started to spread the mixture of nitrous oxide and burning fuel. When I mixed the two things and make them as thin as possible I learned that I can fill up my entire room without a smell.

I don't know the effects, but I believe that it should cause dizziness, nausea, and slight loss of sight. It would quickly affect him, so I should have a gap of 5 seconds to kill him if nothing goes wrong.

I probably shouldn't say that. I hope I didn't jinx myself.

I have been sitting in the middle of the room slowly spreading the gas when I heard a knock on the door.

I got up and opened it. Nathen was standing outside with a look of superiority on his face.

"Are you just going to stay there, or are you going to move out the damn way and let me in?"

"Yes, Yes. Sorry. Come on in." I said submissively, so he doesn't get mad and hit me to feel better. As I was about to close the door an old, wrinkly hand grad it.

"Sorry, I didn't see you. Are you with Nathen?" I asked the old man that stopped the door. He nodded his head, so I let him in.

"Oh! I forgot to introduce him to you. He is Vanny. He is the first person I used my quirk on." Nathen told me while sitting on my bed.

"I brought him here because he told me that you have unlocked a new power."

My face stayed the same as ever, but in my head, I was panicking. I just need to keep him talking for three more minutes. If I can the gas should kick in.

"What do you mean?"

"Well, Vanny has the power to see glimpses of the future once a month. A week ago, he used his quirk, and he saw that you will unlock a new power today. So, I came here to see what it was."

"I hate to disappoint you, but I have not unlocked any power today. I don't know what happened, but it could be that he saw wrong."

"I don't think so. If you haven't unlocked something yet, I guess I will have to stay here until you do."

With what he just said I became elated. With only two minutes left, I will be able to kill him. I just have to kill the other dude too. I don't know if Nathen is lying about what the old man saw, but this works in my favor.
