Hyun was watching the English stream at the start of the NSL, because there was no Korean stream, and in English, he could understand it more than in Cantonese. Lucy was beside him and they both had a bucket of popcorn and watched it on the big screen before them.
"Oh, I see my friends," Lucy said and laughed when the girl picked up two boys. Hyun frowned. He had seen them somewhere. Especially the smiley boy. Maybe he watched his stream or something. Lately, he had a lot of free time, so he was fully into the Secret of Legends game. And he gained a lot of inspiration from it.
"Chao, Chao. What was the answer…" Hyun focused on the stream once more and was excited about this beginning. The Korean start would be later by two weeks, so now he could fully immerse himself in the Nexus league.
"Shock? Haven't heard of him, but he is handsome too." Hyun had to agree. For now, all the players the girl picked were certainly handsome or pretty in some way.
"Oh, Shan! Wow, what happened to him?" Lucy said quite surprised, and it made Hyun curious. He raised his head from the popcorn he was just grabbing and saw him. His favorite streamer. The boy he met last spring. Almost a year ago. Who now had grown a nice bundle of muscles on his shoulders and back and made Hyun lose his mind… wandering on the edge of a borderline erotic picture in his mind. He shook his head and tried to wake himself up.
"He looks smaller on the stream, right?" he asked Lucy nonchalantly, just so he could swallow and not look like a stupid, horny idiot. As he was.
"He was smaller when I last saw him. That was like half a year ago. I can't believe he started exercising…" Hyun waited for her to finish, but when she wasn't continuing, he had to ask.
"Why? What happened or why did you say that?" She bit her lip and then looked at Hyun with a finger in front of her mouth.
"You can't tell anyone, okay?" she stopped and continued only after Shan nodded. "He had back problems. And a doctor told him he should start exercising to strengthen his back muscles." Hyun stopped pondering for a while. It made some sense. Exercising if you have back pain.
"Is he okay now?" he asked, concerned a bit. He didn't want anything to happen to HNYG. He was his favorite out of all now.
"I have no idea. I will ask Lili later. But she is a bit busy with wedding preparations, so sometimes she writes like a day later. But I think he wouldn't be up on the stage if it was that bad." Hyun had to agree, and it calmed him down a bit. He folded his knees under him and impatiently waited for the match to start.
"They have a special condition. The fan can't die as the first member of the team. If they fo the team loses," Caster said and Lucy and Hun looked at each other with open mouths.
"Wow. That's so brutal." Lucy said, and Hyun nodded with all the energy he had inside. It was really bad for the Bear team because they had no tank character.
He watched the team sit behind the screens and log in in the background, while the casters were predicting who would win. Only one out of all ten of them picked Bear's team. But Hyun knew how all three of them played. He had a feeling it wouldn't be so easy to defeat them.
He watched as they were dropped into the forest arena. Good for HNYG, because if he had enough obstacles, he could amazingly set traps and jump quickly from tree to tree. As he was doing now.
For a brief moment, the screen was seen the way HNYG saw it and at the bottom, next to the mini-map, appeared his face. Then it disappeared and a different screen was there. Hyun couldn't lie, he was interested in this guy. He forgot his name. It wasn't shared. He couldn't find any on his social networks.
HNYG was sort of a mystery in the gaming circle and no one talked about him. Those who claimed to have been friends with him were later found to be lying, and those who were looking the most trustworthy said nothing.
"Do you know something about him?" Hyun asked and finger-pointed at the TV just when the screen changed again.
"Doom? Chao? That brat is terrible. He is so spoiled and used to being the center of everything that I'm really surprised that Yitian can even stand him no to sa-..." she stopped mid-word and smiled sweetly at Hyun. So sweet he wanted to puke.
"There are certain things I know but I can't tell," she said and zipped up her mouth and threw away the key. Hyun laughed and shook his head. So amusing. That was why he liked her.
"I meant HNYG," he specified, and Lucy frowned.
"He is actually someone… he doesn't talk much. Is always quite stoic. He plays what he needs and usually stays far away from everyone. Even in their HQ. He might seem a bit uncaring, but I think he is just an introverted person who doesn't know how to get close to people. Or maybe he doesn't want to. Either way, it's hard to not worry about him."
She shared something confusing with Hyun. If he remembered correctly, that boy was nothing like that to him. Not even to his fans on the stream. He always answered with honesty and as much as he could. He even took time to explain some early steps to a beginner who just started.
Hyun frowned and watched as the summoner fan just shamelessly ran to the enemy territory and was already dying.
"Maybe it wouldn't be so easy to win." That was something they both thought. Shan watched Bear dive into the enemy swordmaster and tried to see how fast he could get there.
"Save!" Chao yelled and Shan knew exactly what it meant. Save her, but play it safe at the same time. That meant one thing… Steal and run.
He jumped in with his spells. With the help of an item, he picked up the almost dead fan and with the help of his ult he left a few shadow clones there and ran away invisible.
Ahna was being picked up and carried princess-style out of the way. He literally saved her. She took a glance at the person sitting two chairs down to her and had a feeling of falling in love. Her heart fluttered and her chest clenched. He was the best. HNYG was the one.
