Marvel: The Foundation

The MCU is already a perilous realm, fraught with danger at every turn. But for a crimelord like myself, it's a whole other level of risk, especially with heroes lurking around every corner. And if that weren't daunting enough, now I have to contend with the added uncertainty of encountering at least one completely random SCP every month. How many of these anomalies would it take to trigger an XK-class event? Well, here's hoping I get some favorable ones, allowing me not only to survive but also to flourish in this treacherous environment.

Test 2411-D  -153

Natasha had taken May back to her apartment. Honestly, she had been rather tempted to just call in support and wipe her memory, but she doubted that someone as skilled as May wouldn't have made some backups.

Furthermore, since she apparently knew a bit about the Foundation, it was entirely possible she knew about their ability to amensticis people. So, instead, she decided to attempt to recruit her; after all, she had a feeling that May was already at the edge.

Still, it was a risky move, but she believed that the risk was worth it. May was a skilled agent and someone with a high rank within Shield, and she had the thrust of Coulson, meaning she could potentially be taken on sensitive tasks if she returned to field duty.

With big risks came high rewards, and since May already knew about the Foundation, it wasn't as if they could just ignore it, either they brought her into the fold, or they somehow eliminated her.

This meant that there was no real reason not to at least try. After all, if this failed, it wasn't like May would have a chance to share what Natasha was about to tell her; the Foundation would make sure of that.

The first thing Natasha did as she got inside was activate some equipment that made it impossible for May to transmit a signal out while also sending what was about to happen to her Foundation handler.

After all, no matter how this turned out, she would likely need a team to come here and help with the aftermath.

"Let's have a good talk, may, and by the time we are done, I'm sure you will have all your questions answered and far more new ones unanswered." Natasha sat as she bid May to sit, using her laptop to log in to the Foundation database.

Natasha then began to tell May what she had experienced when she entered Ricci's mansion, not the version she told Fury, but the real version, the honest truth.

She tried her best to highlight the dangers of SCP objects while not giving away too much information, though she did tell her about two rather dangerous ones.

SCP-096, Information about this one had been shared with everyone in the Foundation, so she figured it would be safe to inform May about it.

It was also a very good object because of how dangerous it was and how likely it would be that someone would try to make use of it if it was known to Shield.

Something May have no problem imagining; it was hard to even believe such a thing existed out there; the sheer danger such a being, the deaths it could cause, and the fact that there was apparently no way to stop it was frightening. More so since she had no doubt that Fury or someone else would try to use it.

Then she told her about SCP-1295. She had pretty much been given permission to use the information about this object in any way she wanted. She had doubts that she would still be held responsible for her use of the intel, but she figured this time was good.

After all, while SCP-096 was dangerous, it wasn't really the potential end-of-the-world level of danger that 1295 represented.

May was also shocked as she heard about the dangers of SCPs, to think that just two were that dangerous, one would kill anyone who saw its face, and it couldn't be stopped, the other could potentially cause the end of the world.

Then there was the 3199 one, which could also cause the end of mankind if not properly dealt with. She knew that not every SCP was dangerous; Eden was one, and she wasn't dangerous at all. But clearly there were many ones that could cause countless deaths.

"What about the killings? What's the truth there?" May couldn't help but ask.

Natasha decided to tell her what she knew, knowing that it would be something important for May. She explained that it wasn't enhanced kids at all, but an SCP object that attached itself to normal kids.

"That's… to think it was something like this the whole time. What about the kids?" She asked, wanting to know what happened to them.

"I'm honestly not entirely sure, I know that most of them are driven crazy by SCP-204. They aren't suffering, but well, they can't return to their normal life again, at least not until after they reach the upper age limit and 204 leaves them." Natasha explained, though not entirely sure about how true her answer was.

But it was enough for May. She could understand the situation. Those kids couldn't return home, and they were driven crazy. Maybe they would be trained and recruited as they grew up, but she wasn't sure she liked it.

However, she knew what would happen to them if SHIELD captured them: they would be turned into weapons and sent out on dangerous missions.

She was starting to understand why Natasha would have picked the Foundation, it did seem like they cared more about keeping the world safe, keeping control over it out of the hands of monsters.

She didn't doubt that if all kinds of magical items, such as those that had appeared at that auction, ended up in the hands of politicians that they would quickly turn against the people who they were meant to serve.

There were countless corrupt people out there, and it would be hard not to allow them to grow more powerful if one followed the laws of the land. She knew that many of the missions she had done for SHIELD had the good of a single person in mind rather than the world or nation.

And for someone like Natasha, being able to do good was definitely drawn to that. She was sure that many in SHIELD had once thought that they would be doing more good. Likely, many would jump ship if they found a better option.

Not all; there were those who strongly believed in the law and in the institutes that governed SHIELD, but the higher one crawled up the ladder, the easier it was to become disillusioned.

"It's a lot to take in, but it sounds like what Eden said, hard to believe it all. Hard to think that they aren't, you know, more corrupt." May said after listening to what Natahsa had to say.

"Those who already have all the power, needs not seek more, that's what they told me." She answered. Natasha knew that the members of the O5 were powerful to the extreme, their reach far beyond what most could even imagine.

Yet it was because they already had this power that their fighting didn't touch normal people; they didn't need to start a war in a third-world country to get more wealth and power. They would instead just fight and bicker among themselves, leaving normal people untouched.

"That's a laugh and a half, but I guess its true." May attempted to chuckle but the atmosphere was heavy. "So what happens next?"

"The Foundation will take you in for questioning, and hopefully, you will come out with your memory intact and a role in the single biggest organization in the world." Natasha said with a sigh. She didn't like this, but she knew that it had to be this way.

"I see." Was all May said, clearly she had expected something like this, and she indeed had many new questions, even as her old ones were answered. She needed a bit of time to think.

[SITE-19]

SITE-19 was starting to come alive again; no longer were all the many containment cells empty, but little by little, they were getting filled up again. Much to the job of SITE Director Tilda Moose. For while most personnel might enjoy the lack of dangerous around, she understood that if they weren't contained here, they would instead be out there to cause greater harm.

Among the new entries were SCP-247, the harmless kitten, but also less harmless entities such as SCP-096 and 049.

One of the most exciting ones, at least for most personnel, was SCP-294, the coffee machine. With its ability to bring any drink desired, it was perfect for getting drunk at work, though hardly anyone would dare such a thing.

Not that it stopped them from buying expensive empty liquor bottles online and then filling them up with what was supposed to be in them. SITE-19 wasn't just one of the biggest and most secure containment facilities in the world, but also the best place to get cheap, expensive wine and whisky.

Though the excited personnel would sadly have to wait a bit longer, since O5 had ordered for a number of new tests to be carried out before it would be allowed to return to its normal position.

For now, it was stored in a standing humanoid Containment unite, of which SITE-19 had plenty of empty ones. The door was locked, and only the member of Alpha-1, who were requested to be present at all tests, held the key.

Many thought it was overkill, but others imagined that there was simply something they weren't aware of, which meant that extra safety had to be maintained.

Today, another round of tests would be carried out, so inside the large mostly empty room stood a few researchers of class 3, their every action and move under the watchful eye of the heavily armed Alpha-1 member.

"Next is test 2411-D; we will now attempt to use SCP object 294 to request a cup of liquid Vibranium; to accept the liquid, we have a special cup, which should be able to handle the temperature." The lead researcher said, the entire thing being recorded.

Everyone held their breath as the slowly started to type on the machine, feeling the intense gaze of the Alpha-1 member behind them as he gripped his gun.

They were all nervous, and not just because a loaded weapon was pointed at them, but also because they knew the value of Vibranium.

The Foundation's researchers were used to enjoying unlimited resources for their projects, so the fact that the amount of Vibranium was so limited was a massive annoyance to many.

The metal had many potential uses, and as such, everyone wanted to use it to contain whatever SCP they were in charge of. Though there just wasn't nearly enough for that, not to mention the many other applications of the metal.

As such, everyone knew that plans were being made to invade and take the Vibranium of Wakanda for themselves, though so far, no attempts had been made, and this test might mean that once such a plan did begin, the Foundation would have as many Vibranium weapons as Wakanda.

As the researcher finished typing the request for liquid Vibranium, the machine whirred softly. The cup was placed under the dispenser, and everyone held their breath, waiting to see if the machine would comply. A soft hum emanated from SCP-294, and a shimmering, metallic liquid began to pour into the cup.

The researcher carefully lifted the cup with a pair of tongs, making sure not to spill a drop. "We did it," he whispered, unable to hide his excitement. "We have liquid Vibranium."

The Alpha-1 member nodded, his grip on his weapon relaxing slightly. "Proceed with the analysis," he ordered, his voice steady.

The researchers moved swiftly, transferring the liquid Vibranium to a secure containment vessel designed to handle the extreme properties of the substance. They began conducting a series of tests, measuring its temperature, viscosity, and other physical properties.

"This could revolutionize our containment procedures," one of the researchers commented, his eyes glued to the monitor displaying the real-time data. "Imagine the possibilities—indestructible containment cells, unbreakable barriers."

"Let's not get ahead of ourselves." The lead researcher said. "we still have more tests to conduct, and the use for the metal is not up to us to decide. Nor is it up to us to decide if the object will not be permanently used to produce it or now."

He calmed down the atmosphere and reminded everyone that they still had a job to do. Many more tests are awaited, though the success of this one will likely quickly spread through the Foundation and reach the ears of the O5 council.
