Truth!

I journeyed with Udina, towards the Isle of women. Along the way she began to fill me in on what was happening and who I really was as she put it.

" Can you slow down for one second woman, and tell me what exactly is going on?" I asked.

" We don't have time for this. We need to hurry." She spoke.

" Make time!" I demanded. I was done asking for any kind of answers. If she didn't give them to me, I'd force them out of her.

" You arrogant..." I raised my spear to her throat, and she shut up. " Fine. How much about yourself do you know?" She asked.

" As far as what goes?" I asked.

" As far as your lineage. Your parents. How much do you know?" She asked.

" I know my father is Hermos, a Spartan general. And my mother was Antiope. But they are both long dead. What do they have to do with this?" I asked in confusion.

" Well, you got it half right. Your father isn't Hermos of Sparta." The woman replied.

" What do you mean of course he is." I spoke.

" NO, he's not! Haven't you noticed anything wrong with you. Or different? Namely your powers." She spoke.

" I... Never thought about it. I just thought... I was different." I replied. And truthfully, I never did give it much consideration. I never cared about them. Or gave them thought. They were just a means to an end for me.

" Listen to me and listen closely. You aren't just a Spartan. You aren't even entirely human. Haven't you noticed that you could feel the ocean, that when you're near it you feel at peace. Or even your earthquake abilities. The power to shake the ground beneath you. Haven't you ever wondered why you could do these amazing things? It's because you're a demi-god. The union of a god and a human woman." She explained.

" I'm a what?!" I exclaimed. My eyes widened in shock. And my brain began racing through all the possibilities.

" You weren't supposed to find out until you reached Themyscira. Lady Hestia has been working endlessly to ensure you were never found out. But it would seem things have taken an unexpected. Your real father is none other than the second brother of the big three. The mighty god of storms, earthquakes, seas, and seahorse, Poseidon." I felt like a heavy weight had just been put on my body. My father was Poseidon?! No way. " Lady Hestia had been watching you since you were a baby. She does that for all of her nieces and nephews. When she thought you had died, she informed Poseidon. And Lord Poseidon disregarded her and you both. He threw you away, and had convinced Triton, his eldest son, to kill your family. He lied saying that they were guilty of treason against Greece and had aided the Persians in their invasion. Lady Hestia thought fast and sent your wife and daughter away to Themyscira where she would be under the watchful eyes of Hippolyta, queen of the amazons, Lady Artemis and her hunters, the daughters of Artemis. She could not however, afford to move the boy. His agoge was soon. She could only hope that the threat Lord Ares possessed would be enough to sway Poseidon and triton from acting in Sparta." The woman explained.

" However, once he was sent out on his quest he was assailed by Lord Triton. He is gone." She declared.

I closed my eyes and felt a piece of my soul ripped from my body. My son, cast to the side, never given a fair and proper chance at life. To be a Spartan. To live life. I felt a single tear flow down my face.

" Things don't end there. We don't know how he found them, but Triton has made his way to Themyscira with his elite forces and the Atlanteans." The woman spoke up.

" But I thought the island was protected by Artemis? You just said she and her hunters were watching it." I spoke.

" They were. But Artemis, much like many of the other gods were called away to defend Olympus and Greece from the Persian pantheon. She and her daughters are currently fighting alongside Lord Ares, Lord Zeus, Lord Apollo, Lady Demeter, Lord Poseidon, and Lord Hades against the leaders of the Persian Pantheon. Many of our other gods are currently making sure the Norse pantheon don't take the opportunity to attack us as well." The woman explained.

" This... " I grabbed at my chest and felt my legs give out. I collapsed to the ground as the weight of the situation fully hit me. " This is..."

" It's a lot... I know. That's why lady Hestia wanted to handle this herself. But I guess, given the situation, all commodities have been thrown out. I'm sorry." The woman spoke softly. She wasn't angered or upset by my threats. " But she did order me one more thing. To give this to you." The woman extended the trident in her hands towards me. It was a beautiful shiny gold and was decorated from the hilt to the blades with diamonds.

I reached out and took the weapon from the woman, it was heavy, but it felt natural. I swung the trident around and the seas, began to rise. I raised it into the air and twirled it around my body, water dancing and rising with it like a vortex. I spun my spear around and finally slammed it onto the deck of the ship, the sound of thunder booming filled the air.

" Magnificent." The woman spoke. Her eyes like diamonds.

" What is your name?"

" Me? My name is Udina." The woman spoke. She raised her hand to her chest and bowed towards me.

" Thank you, lady Udina. For telling me everything. And for giving me this chance to save what's left of my family."

" You need not thank me my lord. I am happy to be able to serve you in any way possible. But you must also remember to thank lady Hestia. Without her, none of this would have been possible."

I raised my head and looked to the sky. " Thank you, auntie. For everything."

" HUH?! We're here!" Udina shouted. I turned towards the front of the ship to see an Island covered in smoke and burning. The waves surrounding it were raging. The Island was being assailed by fire and water at the same time.

I knew whatever I was walking into, would be truly the greatest battle I've yet to have. I gripped my trident as hard as I could and steeled myself. For nothing, would stop me from saving them. And if the worst comes to pass, may the gods... May the gods prepare themselves. For I will give them the greatest fight they've ever had.
