As Amir made his way toward Hell's Kitchen he took stock of the options he had if something went wrong.
The biggest factor of course was his powers. The darkness that spawned within him seemed to draw in everything it went near. With it he could manipulate gravity, pulling objects toward him or pushing them away. He could almost use the darkness as a sort of camouflage because when he released it from his body it conveniently came out in the form of smoke that seemed to have been dyed the color of midnight.
That's what he'd done for the robbery and it had worked out perfectly flooding the store and half the street in black smoke, making for the perfect cover to escape the scene.
'The only problem is that I won't be able to do things anonymously, when they see the darkness they will immediately know it was me,' thought Amir.
Lastly, he could also just store things in the darkness that existed within himself, where there was currently about a cart of food and multiple selves of jewelry. Amir wasn't sure how damaging shooting an apple at someone would be but bringing down several hundred pounds of furniture would definitely do some damage.
After navigating the maze that was the streets of New York for another 20 minutes Amir noticed the surroundings start to look worn out and dirty. The number of people walking around seemed to decrease significantly. Those that were still outside seemed to have a nervous energy to them as if they were afraid of something unseen.
As he made his way deeper into Hell's Kitchen, toward the docks of Hudson Bay, Amir made sure to take note of his surroundings the whole time.
"Ayy bro what size those shoes?" someone called out as Amir walked past them.
"They my size," Amir replied while walking away quickly. He could take these petty criminals easily but he would rather avoid trouble if it wasn't necessary.
Finally, after walking for another few minutes he got to the docks of Hudson Bay. He noticed that there were a lot of ships unloading their cargo this late at night for some reason. Well, there had been reports that the docks were where King Pin imported a majority of his drugs and other smuggled goods to then sell in the city.
Making sure he made a good amount of noise he walked up to the nearest ship.
Amir noticed the people unloading the ship tense up as they regarded him, some of their hands reaching to their sides.
Finally, someone that seemed to be the leader stepped forward his hand at his side the whole time, and spoke up, "Stay where you are, just turn around and leave. You can leave on your own, or we can move you. It's your choice."
Amir slowly raised his hands in the air so no one got excited and decided to start firing shots. He called forth a diamond necklace from his void and made it appear in his hands, showing it to all the workers.
"Calm down, I just need to talk to someone that can get things done. Your boss or a supervisor that can manage the sale of a large number of goods," he said.
The workers seemed to hesitate as they considered his words, some even looked at the necklace in his hands greedily. If they were doing this type of shady work it was definitely for the money.
Before any of the workers could respond he added, "And don't even think of trying to rob me. I was the one that hit the Jewelry store in midtown, you know what I can do." He released some of his darkness and let it swirl around him for a few seconds before reigning it back in. That should be enough to stop any over-eager thug from acting out.
The worker that had stepped forward before seemed to regard him for a moment before resigning himself to his fate. "If it's a big sale you want I know the guy you need to meet, cmon follow me." He said as he started walking away not checking whether Amir was following or not.
As Amir quickly caught up and walked in line with him and heard him mutter, "Why do I always get stuck with the crazy people? First that masked freak now this nut job that summons up black fire."
Amir decided not to comment but wondered who the masked freak they were talking about was. He had heard reports about someone called the Devil of hell's kitchen going around and ambushing a bunch of Fisk's men.
The pair walked in silence as the thud of their footsteps echoed throughout the docks. Eventually, they reached a building seemingly hidden away by billboards and large trucks at its front.
By the door were two armed guards that seemed to be decked out in tactical gear and were holding two assault rifles at the ready. Through the glass doors that led to the inside of the building, Amir could see almost a dozen more guards similarly dressed. Whatever this building was, it was very important to the Kingpin.
"Hey, buddy when you get inside don't try anything funny. I was the one that brought you so I'll be blamed for anything thing that happens." Amir's guide said. "Just remember that you might have powers but does your family all have powers? All your friends?" He added.
Amir nodded as if he was unfazed but felt his stomach turn at the thought that Ned or Peter could get hurt or killed because of him. 'This will be quick, just go in sell the stuff then get out. No funny business,' he thought.
His guide stepped forward and spoke to one of the guards and showed him what seemed to be an Id or badge. He nodded toward Amir and patted him on the soldier before walking away.
The guard looked at him expectantly and Amir steeled himself as he followed him inside the building.
