Arrival at Marineford

[ 3 months later]

[Jishin POV]

It's been 3 months since we left Pika Island. The grand line seas and weather were so turbulent that I have been getting seasick due to it. I have been doing basic exercises to strengthen my physique under the guidance of captain Kreuger.

"Brat we are nearing the gates of justice to Marineford," Captain Kruger shouted at me while I was doing a bunch of press-ups.

I stood up and looked at the front of the ship. What I saw blew my mind, as I couldn't understand how these big gates were built by mortal men especially in a sea this turbulent. I can now understand the power and greatness of the marines.

"Oi brat, watch this."

Kreuger's voice brought me out of my gawking, I saw him picking up his den-den Mushi and calling someone.

"Captain Krueger speaking, on the authority of Rear admiral Yamakiji we have been allowed to pass through the gates of justice, and make our way to Navy HQ. The code number is 8715." Krueger spoke to someone on the other side of the line.

"Understood code affirmed, get ready to pass." The person on the other side of the line replied.

And what transpired next was something truly worthy of being called a miracle.

The winds blew in, the tides pushed in, and our ship sped through much faster, riding the current as the gates were fully open.

"VHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. You see this brat, this is the power of the Marines." Captain Krueger spoke in an excited and prideful tone.

Beyond the Gates of Justice is the current that will directly go to Navy HQ, MarineFord. It took 15 minutes to see the base of the world's strongest superpower.

Marineford is a crescent moon-shaped island that is composed completely of bricks and steel, with cannons on the edges. At the back of the island, standing large, tall, and proud is the Marine Headquarters building. The building is a large multi-story ancient Japanese-stylized palace, with the base bearing the kanji for "Marines", with the Marines symbol in between. Around the building's four cardinal corners is a small mountain with a small building on top and a flag with the Marines' symbol placed on top of the roofs. Though It looks like it was undergoing a big rebuild?

"Welcome to Marineford everyone, everyone prepare your identification papers, we will dock at the port on the left. Hey Kid! You will follow me to meet my superior, therefore show some respect and don't speak unless ordered to. Do you understand? " Captain Kreuger asked me with a stern voice.

"Yes, sir… Um Captain I have a question, why does it look like MarineFord is being rebuilt?"

"That damned pirate Shiki did a sneak attack on Marineford with his devil fruit," Captain Kreuger spoke with disdain.

' To be able to do so much destruction, especially to the world's biggest superpower. How frightening are devil fruits? What would have become of my Village if this Shiki had attacked?'

I need to get stronger quickly, what if those Red Raiders had these devil fruits, wouldn't I just die from being sneezed on?'

"Hey, kid no need to be frightened, our Marine Hero Vice-Admiral Garp and Admiral Sengoku the Golden Buddha, shit on that bastard Shiki, now that scum is in Impel Down."

"Kid, I know you have lots of questions, but you will learn the answers at the Marine Academy that you will be attending." Kreuger said with various expressions from reverence, worship to a wise expression.

"Alright we have docked, Kid follow me." He said with a commanding tone.

[35 minutes later]

[3rd person POV]

You can see a young blonde kid walking with a well-built man with a twirly mustache. These two people were Jishin and Krueger.

"Good, you made it Krueger." A hoarse voice cut through the air.

In front of Jishin and Krueger stood rear-admiral Yamakaji. Yamakaji is a tall and broad-chested man. He has a slightly wrinkled face, a round nose with prominent nostrils, thick lips, and a wide, round chin. He has brown buzz cut-styled hair. With his eyes closed and with a cigar in his mouth sucking on it he wore an orange suit and a red tie over a white dress shirt, and the famous Marine coat and cap.

[Jishin's POV]

"Sir, Captain Krueger reporting." I saw Captain Krueger speak with respect.

"Good, follow me. We will be heading to my courtyard to see if the kid has the devil fruit we are looking for." Yamakaji replied while looking at me with an unreadable face.

[10 minutes later]

At rear admiral Yamakaji's courtyard

"Okay kid, relax and release the power in you, so I can verify what devil fruit you have eaten. Rear admiral Yamakaji instructed me as he got a peculiar den den mushi.

I took a deep breath in as I got into a stance and concentrated the power on my right hand.

*Boom*

My hand was covered in an earthish element and in front of me, there was a decent-sized boulder. Unfortunately using this much power did not come without repercussion as I was on my knees drenched in cold sweat.

"Excellent it is as I expected, you have really eaten the mythical logia, the earth earth fruit. Hmm, kid, you need to take a rest. Kruger please give me the kid's identification papers and look after the kid, while I report to the fleet admiral, don't worry I will mention your name." Rear-admiral Yamakaji said with a huge smile on his face.

"Yes sir" replied Captain Kreuger with an excited face.

[3rd POV]

As rear admiral Yamakaji left his courtyard with a happy smile and excited face. He headed directly to the Marineford tower where the top hierarchs offices are located.

As he entered the building, he immediately reported to the reception of his appointment with the Fleet admiral Kong.

The reception lady replied," Captain, Fleet admiral Kong is waiting for you in his office."

Yamakaji went straight to the office immediately as he could not wait to get those merit points thanks to 'his discovery'. He immediately knocked and said "Rear admiral Yamakaji reporting, sir."

"Enter" a gruff voice rang out from the inside of the office.

Yamakaji opened the door and entered, he immediately saluted " Sir I am here to report on a potential marine recruit who has eaten the rare earth earth fruit."

Fleet admiral Kong looked at this rear admiral and said " Did you bring in the recruit's identification papers and the projection den den mushi to prove that your claims are true?"

Yamakaji looked at the powerful Fleet Admiral Kong, Kong is an extremely muscular, broad-chested, tan-skinned, strong-shouldered middle-aged man who has his black hair and beard arranged in an array of spikes, and some fuzz on both sides of his face, similar to a lizard's spine. He also has a stitched scar under his left eye. He wears a sleeveless dark shirt adorned with medals, revealing his muscular arms, dark green armbands, a light yellow scarf around his neck, and a white and dark grey Marine coat draped over his shoulders. The epaulets are similar to those worn by an Admiral, fully covered in yellow as a standard color.

Rear Admiral Yamakaji got nervous and cold sweat started flowing from his back due to Kong's oppressive voice. "I have brought it sir" he stuttered for a bit. Yamakaji gave over Jishins papers to Kong and brought out the peculiar den den mushi that showed the clip of Jishin showing his devil fruit powers.

Kong looked at the projection and was immediately satisfied at getting such a powerful devil fruit to marines and also a young user that could be molded into the ideal marine.

"Good Job, You have made a great contribution, and due to this I hereby give you the rank of Vice admiral effective immediately. You have the strength but were lacking the merit, now you have both, congratulations Vice admiral Yamakiji. "

Thrilled at getting his promotion so quickly, the newly promoted Vice admiral was at a loss for words, he temporarily forgot to address his boss with proper etiquette and could only stutter a thank you in response.

Fleet admiral Kong who was in a joyful mood did not care about Yamakaji's lack of etiquette and instructed him to bring Jishin to the head instructor of the Marines.

"Go escort the kid to instructor Soren, I will let him know of your arrival, he shall 'guide' the young marine to be the perfect marine and teach the young kid common knowledge of the seas, as he is currently lacking in that aspect as well as his control over that logia devil fruit.

"Sir, yes sir" Yamakaji replied, still in his excited tone. Catching himself at the lack of etiquette he bowed and ran out the door to save himself from further embarrassment.

[10 Minutes Later]

[Jishin POV]

' This devil fruit is really taxing, my lungs feel as if they are going to burst, despite training at the ship, it's still really exhausting. Captain Krueger beside me is just walking back and forth with an anxious expression, I wonder what's going on with him.

In a sudden gust of wind, rear admiral Yamakaji just popped up out of nowhere. I jumped due to startlement, and it made me wonder If Yamakiji has eaten a devil fruit as well.

"Rear admiral you have returned, how did it go?" Captain Kreuger replied

" Kreuger, as of now I am no longer Rear admiral but VIce admiral and you shall address me as such, Understood?" Yamakiji said in an arrogant tone

"Yes sir, congratulations on your promotion Vice admiral Yamakiji" Captain Kreuger replied with a bitter face

" Yuhahahahh, Don't fret. You have done a great job escorting the kid to Marineford, Fleet admiral Kong is pleased with your effort. Therefore I will promote you to commodore rank and worry not as you will get your merit points soon enough." The vice admiral said in a satisfied and smug tone.

"Young lad follow me, you will meet with your new instructor who will teach you how to control your devil fruit and teach you the knowledge of the seas, so you don't remain ignorant.

I followed the newly promoted Vice admiral while saying goodbye and thanks to Captain Kreuger, I was excited to finally get knowledge and someone to answer all my questions.

'Finally, I shall take my first step to get stronger and take revenge for my village'

[2 Minutes later, Krueger POV]

'As I looked up at the sky I wondered how I lucked out so much, although I didn't get all the credit a promotion and merit points is still more than enough.

Yo, I hope you guys enjoyed the chapter it was an extra-long one and hella annoying to write due to the amount of dialogue this chapter had and the fact that my internet crashed like 10 times whilst I was writing 😔

Though I would like to say thank you to @noname_marco, @LordOzzy, @peanutcoffee, and @Lord_Archangel, they helped with editing and writing this, and I can guarantee without them helping, this would be impossible.

Also, for now I will try to have 1 chapter every 3 days. Though this might change as school starts very soon for me and it will probably take me some time to adjust to the new year and workload. Now that I think about it, I started my story at a pretty bad time, 4 days before school, but I won't drop the story. The worst-case scenario will be 1 chapter a week.

Also If you have any ideas on things Jishin should learn during his time with Soren let me know, as I am currently lacking ideas.
