Trick 156: Capitalizing on a promise.

Ace was talking to Tony, saying "No, I mean, I think you should, right? It's not just gonna end here. Let me tell you, there's so many more people out there who could potentially come to Earth." Tony crossed his arms and said "Yeah, but I got this daughter, right? So being in charge would kinda put me behind on storytelling…"

Ace rolled his eyes and said "You can have Thanos' ship?" Tony scratched his cheek with his finger as his eyes sparkled slightly, "Oh yeah?" Ace nodded and said "Steve, what do you think?" Steve waved and let out a breath saying "I think he should do it."

Ace pointed at Steve saying "Hm!" as he looked at Tony, who said "Fine! Call me Director Stark from now on…" Ace nodded happily and waved as the enormous spaceship shrank slightly into a small sized one so Tony could study it.

He helped the Avengers clean up and sent the souls who died to their respective afterlives.

The Wakandan people didn't really have one so Ace talked to T'Challa about it, telling him that he didn't really know Baast too well, so they could come to his realm instead of somewhere else.

T'Challa was stunned and had never been asked if his people could do to someones realm after death before so he just agreed.

Ace smiled and nodded, taking their souls to his realm before hearing a voice in his head say "I will take the Asgardian Warriors, Knight. Thank you." Ace looked up and smiled "Your majesty. May you prosper for eternity." as he held a hand to his chest."

Odin chuckled and replied "Need not pay respects, Ace. We are now equal in status, in addition, I am no longer among the living." Ace shook his head and said "It is necessary, your majesty. I am, and always will be, a Knight of Asgard." Odin looked down at him smiling gratefully, "Then you have my respect, my Knight. Valhalla always welcomes you." before he disappeared.

Ace smiled gently and turned to Thor, nodding. Thor smiled and looked up, letting out a breath.

Ace helped sort things out before leaving by himself and returning to his home.

He appeared on the street and looked at the ruins before chuckling as he walked towards it, waving his hand.

The house reverted to normal and Ace walked inside, saying "Sharon! Jack! Margaret!" but nobody answered him. He tilted his head and walked into his library, seeing his desk open.

He sighed and closed everything, scratching his head, muttering "Now I have to go find you… At least, you didn't run into the multiverse…"

A week flew by and Ace was looking at his new artifact room, there were a few more cases now.

Corvus' Glaive, the Hammer pickaxe thing from that Hulk alien, and Thanos himself, trapped in a crystal behind a case full of the more powerful enchantments Ace could muster at the moment.

Pietro was back amongst the living as a Ghost Rider along with Natasha, Tony rebuilt SHIELD HQ and became the new Director, recruiting the long lost Nick Fury and Maria Hill.

Nobody cared about the accords anymore, clearly they doomed the universe once. Nobody was going to let it happen again.

So, they were still in effect, however, everyone the UN sanctioned told them to kick rocks.

One thing did happen and it was Steve turning into an old man, apparently giving up being Captain America as he spent his life with Peggy.

Ace was appalled by this and went to find him, claiming his soul for when he died. Steve wouldn't listen so Ace figured when he got to his Realm, he would let Peggy give him an earful.

And if he had to, torture him a little bit.

This guy, if you don't beat him, he won't listen.

Other than that, Ace had been searching around the world for Sharon, but he couldn't find her at all! It was like she disappeared into thin air. Nobody had seen her, or even heard of her!

Ace was stunned and he kept searching, however, something popped up that he had to take care of…

A month later

Ace was floating in front of a red forcefield. He looked down and saw some government agents shouting "Cloak! Slowly land on the ground, please!" Ace came down and looked at the asian man, saying "What's the situation here. There's a large fluctuation of Magic."

The asian man said "I should be arresting you, but I think we're gonna need all the help we can get. Follow me. Jimmy Woo, SWORD agent." Ace nodded and followed him to a room, seeing Darcy of all people.

Darcy looked over and said "Oh! Hey! You're so cool…" Jimmy said "Show him, Darcy." Darcy waved them over and turned on a TV, saying "This is the situation…"

Ace looked at the TV, seeing a strange show. Wanda was playing a housewife with Vision as the Husband.

A black woman said "She's in pain! We need to help her." Ace frowned and turned to her, asking "Excuse me, you are?" The woman replied "Monica Rambeau." Ace nodded and said "Lovely, now if you'll excuse us, the adults are talking."

As he turned back, asking "Jimmy, have you gone inside?" Jimmy frowned and said "Monica's been inside." Darcy added, "Her cells were rewritten twice, now she has superpowers."

Ace added "And a mental illness, surely." as he looked at the TV program, frowning deeply. Monica glared at him and said "You don't know what you're talking about!" Ace turned to her and his eyes glowed purple as a purple energy covered her body, "I don't?"

Jimmy said quickly "Wait!" Ace held out his hand, saying calmly "Don't worry. I'm fixing her." Monica floated in the air as Ace looked at her, saying "I thought so… This is bad." before sighing as she touched back on the ground, feeling her body.

She looked up asking "What did you do to me?!" Ace ignored her, turning to Jimmy as he asked "The people inside the town?" Jimmy looked at him silently for a moment before replying "All real people…"

Ace held his temples with his hand, frowning "Terrible… I knew this would happen… i should've locked her up a long time ago…" he turned to Jimmy and added, "I'm truly sorry. It's my fault this happened."

Jimmy was a bit startled and asked "What?" Ace explained "The first time I met Wanda, I locked her up, however Cap thought she could do good. I warned her several times, but it seems she couldn't be trusted in the end… Hopefully, the citizens aren't harmed yet."

As he turned to leave, Jimmy grabbed his shoulder and said "Cloak, I appreciate it, but it's not your fault this happened." Ace nodded and said "Unfortunately, if there is even one death, it is 100% my fault. I had the chance to act and didn't." he sighed and added "Ms. Rambeau is a normal human once more. Do not go into the barrier again."

Ace flew into the sky and floated to the barrier, touching it with his hand as he said "This kid… why does she have to make things difficult…" before melting into the barrier, purple cracks erupting all around it, shining brightly!

Jimmy looked at the barrier and sighed as Monica looked at her hands, shouting "You can't let him do this! Wanda is in pain! She's lost everyone dear to her, I know what she's going through! She'll have to sacrifice everything if we let him in!"

Darcy looked at her and retorted "She mind controlled an entire town!" Jimmy sighed and said "Darcy's right. This is out of our hands now." Monica stomped off, running out of the facility, going towards the barrier.

Darcy looked at Jimmy and asked "Are you…" Jimmy picked up a taser and said "Wanda must've affected her mind. I'll bring her in." as he walked out.

Ace appeared in Westview as purple cracks appeared in the sky, revealing the red barrier around the town. The townspeople looked up and shouted in terror, Ace looked down and said "Remain calm, please. I'm sorry for what happened to you all, you'll be free in just a moment…"

He floated towards the middle of town, purple waves pulsing from his body, reverting the town back to normal and freeing the people, who fell to the ground, crying tears of relief

Ace appeared in the sky above a house as a woman looked up at him with her arms crossed. Ace looked at her and said "Ms Witch, pleasure to make your acquaintance." The woman smiled "Agatha. And you must be the new talk of the town! Would you mind letting me handle Wanda? Her magic is quite suitable for me."

Ace shook his head and pulled in the air, ripping the house Wanda was in off the ground, turning it to nothing as he looked at Wanda, saying "I warned you, Wanda. I told you that I would be there when you stepped out of line."

Wanda pushed her kids behind her, shouting "What do you know!? Do you know how much I suffered!?" Ace looked at her and said indifferently "I don't care." as he snapped his fingers.

Wanda turned around to see her kids fizzle out of existence and she shouted "My boys!" Ace sighed, "They're not real! You made them up! Wake up, Wanda! Look around you, what you've done is horrible! All these people are forced to be puppets in your stupid fantasy! You haven't changed since Sokovia?"

Agatha clapped, smiling "How beautiful! He really got rid of the fake kids!" Ace waved his hand and wrapped Agatha up in chains, saying "Please." Wanda glared at Ace, her eyes blazing red as she roared "I'll kill you!"

Ace let out a breath and sighed, "I see. I knew I should've locked you up when you murdered those 11 Wakandan people in Lagos. Steve isn't here to vouch for you anymore, not that he would." he shook his head and raised his arms, adding "You've single handedly ruined Steve's reputation, I hope you're happy."

Wanda floated in the sky but froze quickly as pillars rose from the ground all around the town, massive runes appearing above them one after the other, floating in the sky and glowing.

Wanda looked around in confusion, saying "What is this!?" Ace stayed silent, not wasting words talking to a mental patient.

He clapped his hands and said "Let this end, Wanda. You're under arrest." She turned to him and said "Just you?" Ace closed his eyes and replied "I alone am enough." as he spread his hands.

A massive purple wave exploded from his hands, shooting out into the whole town, reverting everything back to normal, freeing all the people as the red barrier exploded into shattered glass, fizzling out of existence.

Ace looked down at Wanda, raising a hand before tapping on the air with his fingers gently.

Wanda's arms and legs smashed next to her, cracking the air behind them as bands locked over her wrists and ankles. Her wrists and ankles slammed together, locking into purple crystalline blocks as she couldn't move anymore.

There was a commotion behind them as Agatha chuckled "Here comes the cavalry~" Ace frowned and turned around as Monica appeared again, being chased down by Jimmy, she shouted "Wanda! They don't know what you sacrificed for them! Don't worry, I'll get you out! I promise!"

Ace snapped his fingers, muttering "Another mental patient…" as Monica was tied up by a rope, falling to the ground. Jimmy ran over and held his knees, breathing heavily as he waved up, saying in between breaths "Thanks!"

Ace smirked and nodded, "Take her away and settle the townspeople, please." Jimmy gave him a thumbs up as he let out quick breaths. Cars and trucks rolled in, SWORD agents walking out, saying through a megaphone, "Cloak, please put down Wanda Maximoff! She is under arrest by SWORD."

Ace looked at them and replied gently "Sorry. That's just not happening. Wanda may be a criminal but she will not be humiliated and tested on by government officials. All magical events on this Earth will now be managed by me and me alone. If you have something to say, tell it to someone who cares." before curling his finger and flying off with Wanda and Agatha.

The man looked up and said "Send him."

Ace looked at the white Vision in front of him, sighing "Of course, to prove my point you send this abomination…" he curled his hand gently towards him as the white Vision froze, floating over.

Ace held out his hand behind him, turning all their guns to balloon animals as he said "Vision… Your mangled corpse is quite the sight to see." The white Vision said "I am not-" Ace said "Shhh… It's gonna be okay." as he pressed his finger on Vision's forehead, adding "They can't remove your memories."

Vision roared and jerked around as his eyes reverted to normal Vision, looking at himself in shock before backing off and flying away in confusion.

Ace watched him go and said "Let's go girls." as he disappeared into a puff of purple smoke along with Agatha and Wanda.

The townspeople cried tears of joy and cheered, finally free from the hell.
