The Bear

Almos suddenly dropped to the ground letting out pitifully painful cries. The wind seemed to be pulled this way as several strange colored 'air' seemed to drill their way into Almos' body. They were mostly green, but some were brown, white, blue, black, and red.

This process lasted nearly two hours as Allen could do nothing as Almos grew bigger by the second. As the last of the process was finishing, Almos seemed to calm down as his size reached its peak. Almos had officially grown to be taller than a large Oak tree, unlike the other Giant Wolves that were slightly shorter than a large Oak tree.

"Huh- I didn't know you could become less loyal to me... Almos? Why do you feel betrayed when I used up my resources for you?" Almos looked back at Allen with a sideways glance as if he truly felt betrayed by what Allen had done. "*sigh* Let's just hope this is worth it."

Although feeling a little betrayed at how hurt Almos seemed to be when he used an expensive resource on him, Allen still felt the changes were at least worth it.

Suddenly something about Almos' description seemed to pop out more than others even the name, "Titans blood huh..." Allen found himself in a recently familiar situation becoming lost in thought while others were simply waiting for him.

While thinking of levels and powers, Allen soon remembered something, "Henry, what is the exact numbers of what we hunted?"

Henry bowed, "Lord we hunted 1 Rodent den, 2 Fox dens, and 3 Ferret Dens."

After looking at his status panel Allen soon noticed his experiment worked! He didn't want to wait any longer and added 4 stat points into strength. "AARGGHHH" The familiar pain soon took over as every single muscle fiber seemed to catch fire before painfully regrowing and starting it all over again.

The pain lasted for half an hour before it finally subsided... Looking at his final stat point he needed to invest, Allen couldn't help but wonder if there was a better way. Still, he gritted his teeth and added 1 point to vitality. The Pain soon took over as his blood and skin seemed to fill with power and explode before reforming stronger only to start again.

The pain only lasted 1 minute. Allen for the first time realized that only adding 1 point leads to a quicker result. "Wait, if that was faster, then does that mean I have just been doing it wrong?"

Despite his sudden realization that he had forced himself to suffer more than necessary for no gain, Allen soon got back on track. Thinking all about what would happen in the future and what should be future plans. Once again getting lost in his thoughts...

After another five minutes, Allen woke up from his thoughts as he refocused his attention on the bears. "Orion how likely do you believe we can win against the bears with these extra forces. Or would it be best to get more of the wolves I left with the giants? As the only one who knows their power, you will need to make the first judgment."

Orion perked up as he bowed, "Lord! I believe it would be safest to bring more Giant Wolves with us if we don't want any injuries or casualties."

Allen nodded, "Then gather the Forest Wolves to ready themselves to attack. I will go get the Giant Wolves and meet you later." The three men bowed to him as they all went to make other preparations.

After half an hour the group now consisted of 10 Forest Wolves, 10 Giant Wolves, and 3 Humans.

"Alright! Let's get going! Henry, Orion, lead the way!" The group didn't hesitate as the day was slowly coming to a close. Allen, now having to feed hulking beasts called Giant Wolves, now had a desperate desire for resources especially when he needs so much just to set himself up.

About a 10-minute jog from the camp, a huge bear could be clearly seen patrolling the edge of the house protection area. Although it was not big enough to be called a giant, its' power could be clearly seen. It was only smaller than the Giant Wolves by 1-2 meters, but it was very clearly much bulkier and more threatening than the wolves.

While Allen was admiring the dark green fur and powerful muscles of the bear, the bear also noticed them. After all, 10 Giant Wolves don't really let someone have stealth. Still, Allen came to kill so he was fine even if they didn't get a sneak attack.

"Hold!" Wanting to add his bestow and see the stats of such a creature Allen stopped the group a little away.

Despite being shocked at the great power the bear had, after seeing the Earth Giants, he felt this amount of strength should be expected. The main issues he could clearly see were that passive skill that makes it harder to kill and the destroy skill that means the death of every Forest Wolf should they be so much as just touched. Even his Giant wolves would probably only survive the first hit and become too injured to fight.

His bestow skill can't give more than one stat to his units and could only give them either strength for cutting into the thick bear skin or give them speed to not die. This time while facing the enemy Allen didn't stay staring at the problem for several minutes, instead, he ordered a test attack.

"Test his weakness! Don't get touched!"

Quickly, the Forest Wolves who were the fastest tested out the bear's reaction speed. The wolves bit and clawed several parts of the bear, but for the bear, it only looked mildly annoyed as if some bugs had disturbed its' peace.

The bear quickly tried to attack the small wolves that looked more like they were rabbits if this was a normal bear. The wolves easily dodged the powerful attack as the bear took out a decent chunk of the earth. They quickly got back into the protection field as the Giant Wolves took their shot at attacking the giant bear.

This time some blood was obviously shed by the bear as it let out some cries of pain. Still, for a beast as big as the bear, Allen expected a bit more. That said, they successfully attacked and made it back. This probing attack made it obvious that attack is the requirement if they want to defeat the bears.

Allen was curious of Almos who now had 9 wolves under him and should get +27% strength added which doesn't consider the fact that Almos already had higher stats than other wolves. Although not much it should have a far better effect, so Allen got off and ordered him to do a preliminary attack.

This time a clear gash appeared on the bear wherever Almos attacked, but still, the wolf followed his words and backed off after three attacks. The bear on the other hand seemed to be extremely annoyed and roared as it activated a skill making all the plants around start to wither as its' wounds healed. Then roaring again a slightly bloody light appeared around the bear as its' movements seemed to have gotten very slightly faster.

Allen didn't hesitate any more and activated his own skill, Bestow.

Soon several painful howls appeared beside him as all the wolves got bulkier and seemed to be on steroids rather than having a skill activated by him. After waiting for a bit while staring down the bear, Allen soon heard the painful howls stop as all the wolves got used to the new changes in their bodies.

Giving the giant bear an evil smirk he ordered, "Attack!"
