Good night

Daisy's cheeks turned a deep crimson as she blushed, unable to contain the sweet and fuzzy feeling in her heart. She had never been spoken to with such a gentle tone before, and it was too much for her fragile heart to handle!

She pursed her lips and spoke to Leif with a sweet smile. "I want many things, some of which may be unknown to you. So, can you please bring me along with you tomorrow?"

Leif listened to the rain falling outside the cave and didn't rush to agree. He wished his female would never leave the cave, but knew it was impossible.

Although he wanted to reject her request, his heart was filled with hesitation. He was worried that his words of rejection might upset her, and that she would run away if she got the chance.

He thought for a while before reluctantly agreeing, "I can, but only if the rain stops tomorrow." Worried that she might be dissatisfied with his condition, he added expressionlessly, "You'll get sick if you get wet by the rain. So it's better to go out when the rain stops."

He secretly hoped that the rain never stops!

Daisy was amused and touched by his words and she couldn't help but smile brightly, knowing that he cared for her.

She didn't even know what she had done in her past life to get such a caring partner.

She let out a light laugh and handed him the bowl to wash. "Alright, I'll listen to you."

She badly wanted to take a hot shower before going to bed, but the circumstances didn't allow her.

Therefore, she used a clean and wet animal skin clothe to wipe her exposed body parts, unaware that someone was watching her closely. The firelight in the corner of the cave was dim, making her skin look even whiter than milk, appearing sweet and delicious.

Even though he had already eaten, Leif felt an uncontrollable hunger attack him as he watched the scene. In the dark environment, his Adam's apple moved up and down, and he looked away unnaturally.

He suddenly spoke up,"I'll take you out to bath tomorrow." His voice was hoarse and thick with a strange emotion.

Daisy unhurriedly wiped her arms and thanked him with a soft smile, oblivious to the strangeness in him.

After wiping herself clean, she hung the wet animal skin near the fire to dry.

Then, she walked over to the crude makeshift bed made with leaves and animal skin. She felt her back ache as she looked at it.

As a modern woman who had always slept on soft and fine mattresses, it was challenging for her to sleep on the ground.

She sighed, but didn't complain as it was already a blessing to be resurrected from death and enter a world where she didn't need to worry about work, heal her scars, and find a wonderful man as her mate.

She glanced over at Leif, who didn't show any signs of tiredness despite all the hunting, cleaning, and dish-washing.

She suddenly felt apologetic, thinking that she would have tried to died sooner if she knew she would meet him after her death.

She inwardly chuckled and shook her head before laying on the bed and preparing to sleep. She made a mental note to treat him with her best when she had the chance.

The ceiling of the cave was sparsely covered with green and brown moss, and the firelight from below swayed on the surface of the rocky ceiling, creating a hypnotic dance of shadows and light.

She absent-minded listened to the pouring rain and stared at the dancing shadows on the rocky surface as her eyelids grew heavier with time.

"Good night, Leif."

She whispered in a daze, and soon, the only sound in the cave was the steady sound of her breathing as she drifted off to sleep.

Leif slowly got up, moving towards her with care and quiet so as not to disturb his female's sleep. He sat down next to her silently, observing her sleeping face.

Her dark and luxurious hair spread out on the ground like a sea of midnight and he felt like her hair was glowing under the warm firelight.

Her eyelashes were long and dense, and her delicate features and soft skin were enough to keep him up all night. He thought he would only take a quick glance at her before going to sleep, but he found himself unable to look away.

He couldn't move his feet, feeling as though he had been rooted to the spot.

His usual gentle eyes turned dark with a strange emotion brewing inside of them.

----

As morning approached, the heavy rain slowly became milder and smaller, gently trickling down on the trees and plants around. The sunlight was warm as it shone through the leaves of the trees, and the drifting wind was fresh and cool.

The sound of the heavy rain had faded, replaced by the songs of the morning birds and the rustling of the leaves in the wind.

At the entrance of the cave, Daisy stood there and slowly took a sip of the meat soup that Leif had prepared for her. As the warm soup coursed through her body, she let out a contented sigh, her pale cheeks slightly flushed.

Although her man's dishes looked unsightly and ghostly, they tasted like they were cooked by a five-star Michelin chef.

The combination of drinking a warm soup while listening to the drizzling rain and breathing the freshest air in the morning was a rare moment of relaxation for her, and she let out a breath of satisfaction.

This is called living!

When she walked back into the cave after drinking the soup, Leif approached her and gently wrapped the warm elk skin around her body before bringing her to sit near the fireplace.

"Why are you going outside in weather conditions like this? Your skin is already cold." He scolds her with a stern expression, his brow slightly furrowed. Despite his words, he made sure that she was warm and comfortable.

Daisy blushed as she tried to look at him, but her eyes eventually looked away. In a low voice, she spoke just above a whisper, "You worry too much. I'm not that weak."

Leif helplessly sighed and rubbed her head, his eyes softening as he looked at her. "I know you're not weak, daisybug. But it's always better to be careful during this bad weather."

Most of the male beastmen were unlikely to get sick or diseases due to their strong healing abilities, but females were the opposite. Although they had strong fighting capabilities, they were more easily hurt or prone to sickness due to various reasons.

The only way for them to heal would be to visit the Beast cities where saints lived, and not every female was granted access to these cities. So most of the females could only die without getting treated.

So his worries for his female's well-being were well-founded, especially since Daisy was different from other females.

She was shorter and thinner compared to other females who were tall enough to reach his head, and her skin was soft and white like milk, making it appear as though it had never been exposed to the sun.

The colour of her hair was like the night sky, and her features were delicate and exquisite compared to any other female he had ever seen.

So it made complete sense for him to worry each and every single time.
