The choice

After a long swim, Cara and Mason returned to the shore - as soon as they touched the sand, their silver tail instantly transformed to feet. They slip into their clothes and sit on the beach, wrapped in each other's arms as they gaze upon the sun as it sets.

"It's good to be able to swim in the ocean, it's so peaceful in there!" Cara smiled, weaseling herself even more into Mason's arms. He chuckled, caressing her hair.

"This is lovely!" He said, glancing at her with a smile, then they kiss.

"If only we can stay like this forever!" Mason added, locking fingers with her.

She smile, "the world belongs to us!"

They are lost in each other's gaze. The excruciating sound of a loud explosion coming from a distance snapped them back to the present. They sharply staggered to their feet, exchanging terrified looks.

"Could Eris…?" Cara stuttered.

Mason takes her hand, "you will be fine!"
