Suddenly Rich

Meanwhile, the lion-head bison was pissed at Blue reaper. The huntress didn't give the bison a breathing space as she ridiculed the uncharted beasts with bleeding injuries. She employed hit-and-run tactics, and the beast chased her around.

Niklas was still pumping mana to cancel the cascade attack going for the orphanage. Since he was pumping mana from an empty mana reserve, his skin looked frail and aged. He became impatient and angry with the opposing force.

'Stop!' He yelled as he inserted a strong surge of mana into the ground, cancelling the cascade.

Boom! The ground beneath him collapsed into a deep crater.

The lion-head bison figured out the pattern that Blue reaper attacked with. She would find an opening to shoot the bison, injuring it. Then she would run in an arc, and suddenly, along the line, she would change direction. The bison's momentum would keep it going in her previous direction, making an opening for her to shoot again.

As she was about to make the turn, a small protrusion came up, and she struck her foot against it. She lost her balance. Pillars shot out left and right, hitting her till she lost her bearing. As she was falling to the ground, the earth wrapped around her, sandwiching her like a lunette. Her head was propped in the direction of the incoming beast.

A blurred figure sped in and punched the beast away from its target. The punch was heavy, and it put the bison in a mild daze as it staggered. The bovine shook its head and regained clarity. The first thing it saw was the ethereal demigod approaching. The aura emanating from the red-haired man put the greatest fear in the heart of the uncharted beast. It went into a frenzy, desperate to survive. Its lunging attack was futile; Niklas shifted to the left, dodging the attack. He replied with a hook, which made the beast lose its bearings. He followed with two cross-punches to the right side of the bison's head and later another cross-punch to the left side of the head. The beast recklessly lunged itself again at the demigod. The demigod shifted and caught the bovine in a headlock.

Snap! Niklas broke the beast's head and powerfully ripped it off the neck.

"It is finished." He said.

Niklas felt the incredulous power in his body quickly dissipate from him. He wished that he could control the power forever, but he couldn't help but feel it leave him.

He soon looked normal. His skin no longer looked frail. But his T-shirt was drenched in sweat. The jacket he wore was riddled with tears, and it no longer looked fancy. He felt like he was going to faint, but he managed to hold it together as he went to the pillar that Blue's Tiger was pitifully hanging on.

Niklas climbed the pillar and got to a good height to help the hunter. He crushed the tip of the pillar that was protruding from the hunter's back. He proceeded to gently lift Blue's Tiger from the impalement before carefully carrying him down.

"Bring me my sword," Blue's Tiger said after he was laid on the ground.

Niklas brought the halved Viking sword and placed it in Blue's Tiger's hands. The reaction was miraculous; Blue's Tiger regained his health. He stood up and thanked the rookie hunter.

BAM! BAM! BAM! Niklas and Blue's Tiger saw rocks splashing down from mid-air around Take down, Knock down, and Reverend of the blade. Reverend helped the twins defeat the rock golems.

The Knife edge members regrouped.

Blue reaper said, "Who knew that a rookie could pack that much power?"

Reverend said, "Thank heavens he was here. We would have all died, and much of the city would have been gone if he were not here."

Take down said, "Who is he, by the way?"

Reverend said, "His name is Niklas. He doesn't live in this minicity."

Another matter occupied Blue's Tiger's interest. He was scanning the area for the herd of gators, but they were nowhere in sight. He deduced,

'The lion-head bison was the leader of the swarm. And he was a brilliant leader. It occupied the north side of the city with a greater number of gators, forcing the armed forces to shift almost all the resources to the north to control the situation. Hence, the south was open. The beast could trample down the whole south without help.

'Now that it has died, the rest of the swarm is suddenly retreating back to the deserted lands.

A report had reached him that the swarm in the north was retreating into the deserted lands.

'Is this a coincidence, or did they know that their leader is dead? An alpha, uncharted beast wouldn't set foot into a settlement to raid unless there was something interesting residing inside the settlement. But there are lots of interesting things in the deserted lands for it to abandon for another that was in a human settlement. I feel something is amiss.'

There was a lot of thought to unpack, but Blue Tiger let it be. He remembered the corpse of the bovine. He looked at the lanky 20-year-old man who was standing beside the carcass like a guard.

Niklas was hoping that one of these hunters would be rich enough to buy the carcass from him. He was browsing through the internet and discovered that the whole corpse of a rank-A beast could cost as much as 3 million Earth kredits. Niklas' heart raced in excitement.

'Will I get suddenly rich from selling this corpse?' Niklas mused. 'Gods of heaven, thank you for this day. My family will no longer live in poverty. Mom and Zack will soon get well. Please, heavens, protect me.'

Blue's Tiger left his teammates to intercalate about Niklas and his awesomeness. He approached Niklas.

He nodded at Niklas, saying, "Thanks."

"Thank you too. And your friends, too," Niklas replied.

There was a brief, awkward silence. Then Blue's Tiger stared at the bison's corpse.

'Just how strong could this dude be?' He mused as he noticed that the bison's head was ripped off.

The bison's head was placed on the ground by the side of the body.

Niklas went straight to the point. He said, "Three million Earth kredits!"

Blue's Tiger bargained, "Two million Earth Kredits."

'This dude must be shitting me,' Niklas mused,

He raised his price. "Three point two million Earth kredits."

The rest of the Knife edge had come closer, standing behind Blue's Tiger. They kept indifference in their faces.

Blue's Tiger said, "2.1 million."

"3.5 million."

"2.6 million," Blue's Tiger finally raised the price to what Niklas was willing to sell for.

Blue's Tiger used the official website for Blue Box Minicity's hunters to transfer the fee. This was so that there would be a legal platform for the transaction, making it so that no one would come out and just claim the corpse from him.

Niklas left the battleground for the unscathed part of the city. The joy in his heart was boundless as he constantly reminded himself about the amount that was sitting in his bank account.

'Mom, your faith and prayers worked!' He thought.

He pulled up his general information from the system interface.
