Veg sandwiches

After having a brief discussion with the Raj,the driver Sid went to the meeting room. He still couldn't believe how impatient his teammates were a few minutes back. Especially Monica who has always been the one who acted calm even in the worst situation. Setting aside those thoughts he entered the room to see all of them already seated.

"Why didn't you tell you had such a plan? " Dayal asks.

"What plan? "Sid says, stretching his arms on the sides.

"You used that trick to get his answer! "

"Oh, yeah. It just came up suddenly. "

"Well we have asked for phone call records from his phone. We should get something from that" Mon says.

"That's better. Mon, Sid find if he's meeting anyone continuously these days" Dayal orders.

"Okay" They say in unison.

The housekeeper was also called later this afternoon. He said earlier he knew nothing but now they had no choice but to call him up. They might get something.

"Aah …. It's already 12 now. Let's get something to eat" Dayal says.

"Yeah. I skipped my breakfast too" Sam says as she takes her phone and gets ready to go.

"Me too" Mon agrees to her.

"I guess we all are hungry. " Dayal states and walks out of the room followed by the rest.

The canteen was oddly filled with people. At this hour usually they work and today is an exception. Even the common staff were all lined up in a queue.

"Seems like everyone skipped their breakfasts today. " Jake says sarcastically.

They laughed out loud along with the people around him who heard him.

It has been one and a half month now since Jake joined this team. It is still unbelievable how he actually refused to work with Mr. Dayal and now he's not only working with but is also known by most of the employees in the department. He smiles at that very thought.

The queue started to shorten and they finally reached the counter. They were not even shocked to see that most of the food had already finished and the entire kitchen was in a hustle. It was clear enough from the notices coming out of the door beside the counters.

"We will have veg sandwiches each " Sam looked back to get their approval and everyone nodded.

"And one pineapple juice for me. "She says with a small smile on her face.

" Okay." The person at the counters says.

"One iced Americano for me! " Jake says.

"Sir I guess you should have a hot one.. " The counter boy says as looks outside to show the foggy weather.

"Oh yes" He realized."that was out of habit"

"Sure.Anything else? "

They continued to order and after 15 minutes their brunch was ready. As usual they chose the best corner to sit as if it has now become a ritual.

Not much later Kunal came and joined them.

"What's up? "Jake asks, looking at Kunal's tensed face. "Your mind seem to be somewhere else"

"Huh? " he mutters without being aware of what he was been asked.

"See! "

"What's going on? " Dayal asks.

"Actually, my sister. I guess I have to send her to the mental hospital. She needs proper care."

"Has she done something wrong? "

"She hallucinates all the time now. Now she has started to hate me. She doesn't take her medicines on time and recently she said that I want to kill her. "

"Did you take her to the psychiatrist? "

"Yes.In fact they told me to admit her in the hospital. She needs care all the time and I have to work as well. I can only be with her on weekends. "

"So,do as they say. "

"Yeah. I hope she will be fine soon. By the way, how's the case going on? "

"Just fine. "

"Oh.Anyways I'll go get my order. "Kunal leaves the table and joins few of his colleagues who were on their way to the food counter.

" Can we really trust him? "Loy says.

" Yeah. Why? "Dayal says, taking a sip of his green tea.

" Everything proves that all this is definitely his sisters doing. All this illness is bullshit. I don't know but I have a bad feeling. "He says, taking a bite of the sandwich.

"What are you saying? Mr. Loy you checked the hospital records yourself isn't it? " Jake asks.

"Yes but… the camera"

"It stopped after they left the place" Jake finishes his last sip of coffee.

"You all went to see it by yourself? "

"Yes" They answer in unison.

"Oh.He must have helped you all a lot. "

" So far he has been good. "

"Still. He's sending his sister to the hospital. What if that's to save her from being arrested? You never know! "

They looked towards Dayal for a moment and to that Dayal said"Will keep an eye on him"with a grin on his face.

They all stopped the discussion as soon Kunal walked towards the table with his tray of food.

"Did I miss something? "

"No" Loy answers with glaring eyes at him. Dayal saw that immediately and kicked him as a gesture to stop doing what he was doing. Loy kicked him back as a response and shot a look at him. All these things were happening beneath the table so no one could see it. Besides the team already could feel that they will be arguing uselessly for the rest of the day.

"We have to go. "Jake stands up wiping his hands off the tissue paper.

" I just got the message. He's here"Sam says.

"Who is coming? " Kunal asks.

"Aah….the housekeeper. " Jake answers.

"Oh"

"Hey, by the way they must have seen the housekeepers in Mr. Carl's house, right? "

"Yeah"

"Come with us"

"Jake, why do we need him?" Sam asks, surprised by his sudden decision.

"You will see. Let's go now if you two are done?" He looks at their leader and his assistant who were having the so-called war with eyes all the time.
