The Breach

As I breach the surface I quickly throw one of my blades at Ker and he catches it before pulling me away from the pool. I shake off all of the remaining goop and I feel that I still have a decent amount of aura left so I could've stayed down there for a little longer.

I finally take a look at what I just grabbed at the bottom of the pool and am shocked to see that it's... The Claws of Hades.

"How the fuck did this get here?" I say to myself out loud.

"What is that Kratos?" Ker asks.

"It's The Claws of Hades, a weapon I have used before. It can take the souls of other creatures and I can do what I want with it like sending it to Tartarus for eternal suffering, I can summon it to fight for me, or I can absorb it and get stronger while also gaining its abilities if it's strong enough." I say.

"That sounds like a very dangerous weapon if it gets into the wrong hands." He says.

"Yes it is, but nobody except me knows how to use it so if in some way it gets taken they won't know how to use it. And I need to ask you something, do grimm have souls?" I ask.

"I believe only the ones who have lived long lives like me have a soul, the younger ones do not have souls." He answers.

"Alright, that will be useful to know, can you feel something if another elder grimm is nearby?" I ask again.

"Yes I can, I get a strange feeling that I can't describe with words, but I can tell if they're near and where they are." He answers.

"Ok, lets head back to the pick up zone and report to Ozpin, and I'll be riding you since that'll get us there faster." I say as he lowers down so I can get on him.

After I do he starts to run and not long after we reach the pickup zone and I call in the bullhead. I have Ker get back in my shadow and not long after the bullhead arrives. I get in and we take off quickly.

"So I assume you found the source causing all that? I can already see it disappearing." He says.

"I did, after a lot of killing and some trouble I managed to find and get it" I say.

And after some more small talk the rest of the flight was silent. We are now near the center of Vale before I hear Ker say.

'Kratos, I feel hordes of grimm nearby somewhere.' He says.

'What whe-' I don't get to finish my thought as a giant explosion erupted from the ground and all sorts of grimm start to immediately pour out of the giant hole in the ground.

"Open the doors!" I shout.

The pilot nods and opens the doors. I quickly jump out and start to free fall. As I get closer and closer to the ground I see a giant snake slithering up a building so I throw my new claws and hook on to it before pulling myself to it.

I land on it and stab it with my blades and slide down its back making it roar in pain before dying. I land and am instantly surrounded by a copious amount of grimm. Ker comes out on his own and starts killing all the grimm around us.

I also start killing them, and it takes little to no effort in doing so because all of the grimm here are mere canon fodder. Then suddenly another explosion happens but this time instead of grimm it's a whole ass train head that comes out.

As it lands the side door slams open and team RWBY walks out, well to be more accurate it's Yang carrying a knocked out Ruby and Blake is using Weiss for support. And following after them from the top of the train is Oobleck along with a dog strangely enough.

"Greetings Dominus, it's a fine day to kill some grimm don't you think?" He asks after noticing me.

"I do agree with you on that Oobleck, 10000 lien to whoever kills more?" I ask with a smirk.

"You'll regret challenging me, but I accept may the better man win!" He says before running off into the hordes of grimm and I follow suit.

(Small timeskip)

"100!" Oobleck shouts as he smashes an alpha grimm's head into the ground.

"150!" I shout back as I stab the head of a giant snake making it fall to the ground.

We kill more and more grimm until we hear a very loud ear-piercing screech coming from one of the holes. Then a weird giant grimm slithers out of it.

"*gasp* It's a wraith! I've only ever read about them!" Oobleck shouts.

'Ker is that an elder?' I ask quickly.

'Yes, it lived just long enough for its soul to manifest' He answers back just as quick.

It's a giant grimm, I'd say that it's about twice as big as the cyclopes I used to fight. It has tentacle like things as its legs and a long and slim body which is very different from the usual big and bulky grimm. It has 2 sets of arms one pair are very sharp claws and the other pair are giant scythe like blades. It has spikes going out of its back and it doesn't have eyes on its head, its just white which fades into grey which is strangely what the rest of its body is colored. And the even stranger thing is that it doesn't have any bone armor like the rest of the grimm do.

"Dibs!" I shout before I run at it.

"Be careful it can warp!" Oobleck shouts quickly.

And just as he says that the wraith warps behind me and slashes quickly landing a good hit on my back sending me crashing into a building but it only damages my aura so I come back out right away. It warps twice and is in front of me but I'm prepared this time and block its downwards slash with my blades. I quickly push it away before hooking my blades onto its neck and slamming it into the ground several times stunning it.

I take this chance to throw a big chunk of the building at it making it go flying away crashing through several buildings. It quickly gets back out and it charges right at me. I dodge one of its swipes and try to cut its scythe arm off but my blade goes through it.

It's a decoy, I put my guard up and hear movement behind me so I quickly turn around to block an incoming strike. This time I grab its scythe hand and slice it off like I originally intended to making it screech in pain. I try to stab its stomach with its own arm but it warps away just as it was about to puncture it.

It warps twice before slithering away trying to run but Ker comes out of the shadows catching it off guard allowing him to pin in it onto the ground. I quickly run towards it and take my claws before hooking them onto its back.

It causes the creature to writhe in pain and it tries to escape but it's too weakened and Ker is able to hold it down. I start to rip out its soul from its body, and it tries to resist but compared to Hades this is nothing. I completely rip its soul out of its body and let the blue semi transparent version of it get absorbed.

I feel its power rush through me and I feel much stronger and lighter and I feel like my senses are enhanced. I try to warp like it did but unfortunately nothing happened, which I am perfectly fine with.

'That was very impressive Kratos, even with the power you've shown.' Ker says.

'Thanks, it wasn't that hard anyways compared to what I've fought before.' I say.

We hear footsteps behind us so Ker quickly gets into my shadow. I turn around to see a clapping Oobleck.

"That was an amazing battle! A job very well done, I bet that a full team of experienced huntsmen would just barely be able to kill a creature of that level!" Oobleck says congratulating me.

"Thanks, and speaking of bets, you owe me 10000 lien when we get back to the academy." I say.

"Don't worry I'm a man of my word, I'll give it to you when we get back. But now lets help the students clean up the rest of the grimm shall we?" He says.

"Yeah lets do that." I say.

And so, we did help the rest of the students there and once everything was done I really got a good look at the area. Absolutely every has been destroyed and the area where I fought the wraith looks especially bad. Then I see Gylnda while one the way back to the bullhead, so I tell Oobleck and RWBY to just go on without me.

I sneak up behind her and quickly hug her from behind making her flicnh.

"Surprise~" I say with smile.

And once she hears my voice she immdiately relaxes into my arms.

"Don't scare me like that you idiot." She says with a visible smile on her face.

"But if I did I won't be able to see that beautiful smile on your face now would I?" I say which makes her giggle.

"Just let me finish up these repairs and we can go cuddle later ok?" She says.

"Deal." I answer quickly and kiss her cheek.

She smiles before I let go and she continues what she was doing. After some time she finishes and the place looks like there never was a grimm outbreak in the first place.

"Now that thats over lets go back to Beacon shall we?" I say before picking her up bridal style.

"*giggle* Yeah, let us go my knight." She says with a big smile present on her face.

(Timeskip to Ozpin's office)

"Hello Kratos, I really can't thank you enough for what you were able to do. You got the source of a potential disaster and you killed a creature that has been talked about only in books." Ozpin says.

"No problem Oz, I don't mind because I get to use one of my old weapons." I say before showing him The Claws of Hades.

"That is a particularly interesting weapon, more so than your Blades of Chaos." He says inspecting the claws.

"Yeah nobody but I knows how to use it so you don't have to worry about it if somehow in the very slim chance that the enemy gets it, they won't know how it even works." I say.

"I see, well I thank you for giving some more of your time here, you may go now. I see that Glynda is quite impatient about something." He says.

"Alright Oz, see you later." I say before me and Glynda exit his office.
