Spring Rain Kingdom; Ji Clan

[If they accept, then they will allow you to possess his soul and him; rest in peace.] The Old Monk explained as Daniel immediately began to enter the kid's soul.

[Be sure to be sincere; promising to fulfill a dying wish and failing will kill you.] The Old Monk warned as Daniel simply nodded before proceeding.

The moment Daniel entered into the kid's soul, his sense of touch was the first to arrive, but his brain kept interpreting these signals in different ways. It almost felt like he could like something and hate it at the same time.

'I guess my brain can't process both of our emotions simultaneously.' Daniel thought to himself as he realized he was lying on something soft, and it seemed to be some sort of bed or something along that line.

"I think I should wrap this up quickly." He thought as he slowly tried to open his eyes.

Then, 'voila' they did open, but the pain that flooded his mind afterward blurred his vision.

'Fork; this is indeed too much for my brain to handle!'

Though, he could make out the visage of the things around him, the conscious part of his mind had yet to begin registering the subtle differences of his current environment.

The subconscious part of his brain, on the other hand, spun to life automatically and dove straight into Intel gathering, just like the mind of any well-trained spy.

His head turned from side to side as he looked around, but everything he saw only served to confuse him more.

He was in a room, but it looked old, and to the very standard of indigenous tribes back on earth; luxurious.

There weren't many things in this room of his, save for a bed, a small table, and some clothes on a shelf which also housed a few books and scrolls.

But just as his mind was about to start processing all the several logical explanations of his current plight, Daniel suddenly screamed in pain.

"Argh!"

He bellowed as his head began to pound like a thousand jackhammers were digging into his brain at full throttle.

His brain felt like a balloon on the verge of bursting whilst his skull felt like a Cat-7 earthquake was ripping through it.

This was a pain that could threaten to wipe off anyone's consciousness, and it was happening at the worst moment possible.

This was because a little girl who was in the same building, but in a different room than Daniel had heard his screams, and immediately run out to call the others without even bothering to come to take a look.

Daniel, on the other hand, was feeling like someone connected a hard drive containing innumerable files into his brain; it was almost as if his mind was downloading the memories of an entirely different person.

Innumerable amounts of pictures and scenes about many strange people whom he had never met before flooded his mind.

That was soon followed up by many characters of an alien language that wasn't even in the games, novels, and animes of his past life.

They all came crashing into his mind and were being uploaded into his brain at a speed that was way faster than any supercomputer he had ever used, seen, or heard of in his past life.

If Daniel hadn't seen the nature of his room earlier, he would have thought he had reincarnated as a cyborg and his manufacturer was currently uploading several databases into his mind; but the nature of the surroundings and world within these memories proved otherwise to be true.

After a few minutes, the pain knocked him unconscious; just in time for a little girl and three other figures to step into the room.

"Mei'er, are you sure you heard him scream." The tender voice of a middle-aged man floated into the area, as the little girl nodded her head rapidly.

"I think she's saying the truth. He wasn't sweating or lying in that position when we left." The voice of what seemed to be a teenage girl chimed in afterward.

"That's good news." The middle-aged man said with a relieved sigh.

"That means the treatment is working! Mei'er, stay with him and call me the moment he wakes up again." The middle-aged man added before bolting out of the room with the teenager in tow.

After an hour that felt like a decade, the information download ended; but the ringing sound in Daniel's mind and the pounding in his brain persisted.

His brain didn't have the mental strength to withhold and process the memories of his past life alone, and now, that of a different person had been added to it.

His vision was still blurry, and he had no choice but to keep his eyes shut and just take a brief rest.

It took him about another hour before he was sane enough to continue his mission, but the ringing and pounding stuck to him like a hunch in the back; albeit a little more bearable.

Then the new memories began to gradually overlap with that of his past life, and the new short ones he had just made in this lifetime.

From these new memories, his mind had now begun to process, Daniel gleaned a lot of Intel about his new self and the region which will mark the start of his adventure.

He knew he was now in a place called the Spring Rain Kingdom, where the four giant clans of; Xiao, Ji, Lei, and Bai Clans, all call their home.

The Xiao Clan on the other hand was the royal family and the lord of the Kingdom.

Daniel was born into the Southern Ji Family; one of the four castaway branch families belonging to the Ji Clan.

The Ji Clan possessed a very large landscape that was comparable to a metropolitan city on earth, and the clan itself sat right at the center of the entire city which everyone called, Ji City or the City of Ji.

The Southern Ji Family was also one of the four branch families of the Ji Clan, and the others also had the term; Western, Northern and Eastern included in their names respectively.

Each of these branch families was regarded as slaves to the Ji Clan, and they were always the ones who were in charge of gathering information, resources, labor, pleasure, and even sometimes being used as cannon fodders in several skirmishes happening within the Ji Clan.
