Back when fishes soared through the heavens, tigers laid eggs, trees prophesied, and chickens twerked; the destiny of all creation rested on the shoulders of a young boy, named; Ji Min! Our MC had been chosen by prophecy to become the Omni-Being; a peerless existence who was not only omnipotent but omnipresent and omniscient as well. As the forgotten cornerstone of the very foundation upon which all creation was laid, our MC was able to meet the requirements to be chosen as the herald of the forgotten True Spirit. But as fate would have it, our MC ended up transmigrating into the body of a little kid who had a soup of chronic diseases. So, in a world where the strong ate the weak, drank their blood, and picked their teeth with their victims’ bones, what would become of our dying MC? How will he survive in a world where Qilins are treated as pets and Dragons are made to play catch? A world where overlords grill their meat with tribulation lightning and drink lava?

First Lecture

[The soul of every being powers its thoughts, emotions, and will; these three traits are what are referred to as Consciousness.] The monk lectured.

[Once you kill a soul, you have destroyed the consciousness within it as well; but there is a technique I know that can wipe off any of the three traits without harming the soul in any way. This technique only belongs to our temple, Shangri La.] He added.

[Right, you said there was a lot we had to catch up on; I think now is the best time, isn't it?] Daniel suggested as the old monk nodded his head.

He then made a gesture that pushed the empty purple soul into the kid's body before following right behind it.

Once they arrived within the kid's body, the monk cast several hand seals as a wave of soul energy rippled across the kid's body, washing over every inch of his being.

[Unh; t-this-] The monk stuttered when the ripple returned to him and painted a mental map of the kid's body into his mind.

[What happened? Is something wrong?] Daniel asked anxiously; he knew that whatever could make the old monk stutter would definitely be beyond him.

[I just did a checkup on the body you are about to possess, but I have good news and bad news; which one do you want to hear first.] The monk asked.

[Let's have the good news first.] Daniel answered, he didn't really care whichever came first, he only hoped the good would outweigh the bad.

[The soul of this kid is still present, and it seems to be a very pure one that is just about to begin disintegrating.] The monk added.

[How is that good for me?] Daniel asked in curiosity.

[Don't worry, I'll explain that to you later; but first, we have to make sure these powerful souls don't go to waste.] The monk added as he made a completely different kind of hand seal.

Two ropes of soul energy then left Daniel's soul body and began to stretch towards the purple soul and another white soul that was located deeper within the kid's body.

These ropes of soul energy then latched onto the purple soul and fused it with Daniel's golden soul. Daniel felt something like a shackle crack within him, but it refused to shatter as if it was being forcefully held together by a mysterious universal law of some sort.

Furthermore, since he was getting such a feeling, the monk who was also residing within his soul could also feel it and with a smile, he dragged the kid's white soul and brought it towards itself.

But strangely, just as they were about to merge, the two white souls slightly repelled Daniel's soul; it was almost like they were ninety percent compatible, but the remaining ten percent won't allow the fusion to take place.

[What is happening?] Daniel asked in confusion.

[It seems the kid's emotions and will are still present, which means he is dancing on the line that separates coma and death.] The monk explained as Daniel felt a jolt run down his spine.

[Shouldn't we at least help him recover if he's still here?] Daniel asked with a frown; if it was possible for the child to survive, then he wouldn't want to take the life of the innocent child.

The old monk heard what Daniel said and nodded in praise.

[It is good that you think that way, but the best thing you could do for him now is to free him from this world of pain.] The monk answered as Daniel went deeper in thought.

[Then why don't you take over his soul? I prefer to have someone like you by my side as I journey through this dangerous place.] Daniel blurted out his thoughts.

[Of course, that is only if you wish to.] He hurriedly added after realizing his statement sounded somewhat selfish.

[I only wanted to pass on the legacy and go into eternal rest; after all, I have lived for so long and experienced a lot of things.] The old monk heaved a reminiscing sigh.

[But since the chosen one has asked; then this old guardian can only comply.]

[However, I think it's better that you merge these souls with yours, and simply allow me to reside within it, as it would be detrimental for me to personally influence your growth; so, you can simply think of me as a second mind that can help you store and process information.] The old monk added.

[Is there any difference between you living within my combined soul and possessing his?] Daniel curiously asked.

[Firstly, if that happens, this body might reject one of both souls, which is certain to be yours, since it would choose to house the one that naturally came with it.]

[Secondly, the merging of two souls would not only double one's soul power, but it will also increase it by half of the combined soul power.]

[Finally, should you ever get into trouble, your mental power would be unable to handle both our actions simultaneously, which means it is either you're the one fighting or me.]

[But if you absorb his soul and I dwell in it, I can simply be your sixth sense or help you control your reflexes in battle, and that would be akin to having a seventh sense, which I believe is much better and safer.] The monk explained.

[Right; so, how do I go about possessing his soul?] Daniel asked as he gazed at the soul in front of him which seemed to be in a deep slumber.

[Your souls might not be fused, but they are already connected; all you have to do is think about switching bodies and you will naturally possess him, after all, you have a higher soul power than him.]

[Afterwards, you will have to live through his memories, find out what his regrets and dying wish are, and convince his 'emotions and will' that you will help him carry them out without fail.]

[If they accept, then they will allow you to possess his soul and him; rest in peace.] The Old Monk explained as Daniel immediately began to enter the kid's soul.

[Be sure to be sincere; promising to fulfill a dying wish and failing will kill you.] The Old Monk warned as Daniel simply nodded before proceeding.
