Mizu's Village

"How do you know my level?"

I questioned, startling her.

"Did you Appraised me?"

I learned that appraising someone who is not an enemy is against basic etiquette of this world and sometimes it is punishable.

"W-well that"

I held her hand no I grabbed it tightly making her look like a cat was caught in a theft.

"I need an explanation."

Hehehehe I was laughing inside be seeing her expression like this.

As I was about to say something Neena came back, accompanied by a middle-aged man.

"I apologize for the wait."

"So, you are Akira and Mizu. I am Daas, the GuildMaster of this town branch of the adventurer's guild. I've heard the gist of what happened from Neena, but…it really looks like you both put on quite a show."

"They were weak."

"Uncoordinated and underestimated us."

We both answered GuildMaster instantly making him feel awkward.

"Ahem, please come to my office after this. We have to talk about your rank. It'll be quick. You will come right?"

"Yes, of course we will come to your office,"

Guild Masters are best NPC to help any main character, so it will be best to have good relations with guild masters and I think if we went there, we could start as high level adventurer.

I left the B-ranked adventurer party and followed Dass and Neena to the GuildMaster's office.

"Please, come in."

The GuildMaster's office was surprisingly simple and frugal, with a minimal number of decorations.

A bookshelf covering one of the walls, a table with piles of documents, a low table, and sofa for guests.

I sat on the sofa along with Mizu, as We were invited to, and Neena brought us something to drink.

As we were drinking the drinks bought by Neena, Dass started speaking to us.

"Akria and Mizu, I was thinking of having you start at Rank B after seeing how you easily defeated a B-Rank party, Rank A wouldn't be far-fetched either, but there are no precedents, and I am only allowed to assign rank up to B."

"I see, that's fine."

"I also have no problem."

"Thank you. If you come back tomorrow, you'll have your adventurer card waiting for you."

As finishing the talk with Guild Master, I walked out along with Mizu, I can see that as we left a sigh escaped from Guild Master's mouth.

As we continued to walk on the street with bit of talking suddenly, I heard some sound probably rumbling of stomach and when I turned around to see where it came from, I saw an embarrassed Mizu.

"Oh! Look like someone is hungry."

I said with a nasty grin of my face. I can see the mouth of Mizu is twitching.

I giggled watching her like that.

"Let's eat something from street shops."

I said and walked followed by Mizu. I saw lots of dished that I haven't seen on the Earth.

With Eye of Existence, I can see the ingredient thar are used in the foods. I also checked if they are safe to eat for people from Earth and I think Earthing can also eat these dishes.

I was walking while looking left and right along with Mizu, when a pleasant-looking man standing behind one of the stalls called out to me.

"hey friend, yes you, try one of these!"

The man showed a block of meat which kind of looked like chicken wings.

"Oh! Good, Mizu try some of these."

"What meat is this?"

"It's Whitebird meat, it is known for its taste."

She took the piece of meat but muttered "White bird.."

This girl is as clueless as me. If I don't have my Unique Skill 'World Library' then I would also have same expression as her.

I am also glad that it is not possible to detect passive type unique skill unless you have information or detection typed unique skill. Due to this reason I can use my Unique Skill without getting detected by Mizu.

"You don't know about Whitebirds? What remote country village are you from? Whitebirds are one Metre tall bird-like monster. They taste good grilled. Where did you live before coming here."

"Ah! About that I lived in remote village with my grandfather and I don't know much about it."

"Is that so?"

I looked at her with an understanding look while she sighed. Heh girl I know you secret.

After that we both eaten few meatballs and in reality it was tasty. 

"How much?"

"Since you people are new to town, I will only charge 500 Units for 6 piece of meat."

"OK"

After saying it I used my pocket as cover to give him the money. I also used my Eye of Existence features to checks if that guy was lying or not about the price.

After that I handed him 700 Units and brought extra pair of meat.

The meat was probably marinated in seasonings, as it was really flavorful. The crust was crunchy and crispy, and the scorched sauce stimulated and appetite.

After eating the meat, we returned to our room.

"Hah! I am so tired."

Mizu jumped on the bed and said like she was tired maybe mentally tired.

"Oh! So, Miss Mizu, you didn't answered my question about how did you know my level."

I know when she analyzed me back when we met.

"Hmph! You also didn't answered my question about how you defeated people who are higher level than you."

"That's my personal choice to answer you or not. But what you did was to violate my privacy. I don't know about your remote village but here in this city it is crime you know."

"Ugh! What do you want from me?"

WTF! From my one sentence she has already guessed my intention. Well I was expecting this and it will make situation more fun.

"Nothing much. Just a small promise."

"What promise?"

After listening to her I moved to bed and laid closer to her and directly staring into her eye and said.

"I just want you to promise that people from your small and remote village should not harm me, if the matter is related to you."

I gave the most innocent smile while saying this to her.
