Miach and Naaza

When consciousness came I expected to feel the same stinging pain in my chest when I moved but I didn't. I had to guess that Miach that it was Miach's doing.

I scrunched my eyes before opening them. I was in some kind of comfortable bed. It looked like the ones you could find inside hospitals but it felt more homely and comfortable.

Even with all of the pain gone I still felt tired and weak. I sat up on the bed to find my old ragged clothes were gone and were replaced with a simple v-neck tee shirt and some loose pants.

I looked around the room and saw three more beds just like mine, I was in the right most corner. The furthest away from the door. The room I was in looked to be a mix of wooden and stone architecture. It was really homely looking.

"Ok, one two- hah!", I hyped myself a bit before I put my feet to the ground and got up. I wobbled a bit on my feet but I could manage to stand if I used the bed for support.

I looked forwards and saw the second bed, the one that was in the middle and started walking towards it. Slowly albeit.

I kept walking and I had to let go of the bed because of the gap between the other one.

"Just gotta let go for a bit", I whispered to myself. I stop using my current bed for support and walk towards the second one. I felt stronger on my feet already.

'wait, now that I think of it. Why am I walking towards the door anyway? Couldnt I just call out for Miach?', I thought to myself. That was a good question and the answer to it was, 'hes already done enough for me, I shouldn't bother him by disturbing him. What if he's sleeping', I mused. Whilst I was talking to myself inside my head the door suddenly opened.

The door slowly creaked open and a head peeked out from the doorway. I thought it was Miach but once I looked towards them I found out it was a girl with puppy ears. I remember I looked at that race before. 'What were they called uhh...'

Chienthropes! Yeah. That's what they were called. The chienthropes girl had short neck length brown hair and some lazy eyes. She looked cute if I was being fair.

"Oh, you're awake", the girl lazily drawled. "Uh, good morning?", I said right back. Man I probably seem like some sort of loser. She smiled and responded, "good morning to you too, let me call Miach sama. And sit down you, you don't have the energy to be walking around right now"

I could only nod as the head disappeared. I sat on the middle bed which was where I was at. She seemed nice enough, I hope I still had my kidneys though.

I spent my time swinging my legs as the bed was weirdly high up. A few minutes passed and the door opened once again, out came Miach and the chienthrope girl. Miach gave me a once over and said, "it's nice to see you're doing better, I see you've already met Naaza", he looked towards the now named chienthrope girl who just gave a peace sign all the whilst having the same half lidded eyes.

"Though you are in better shape now, would you mind telling us how you exactly ended up in that alleyway?", Miach asked kindly. This guy was so nice he even gve me a choice. Man I lucked out on my first encounter. This bodys memories felt like mine already so I started telling him what happened. I felt emotional at the thoughts of my parents and village or town or settlement, I'm still unsure.

I started to tell them about the attack on my home, the death of my parents, me running through the forest, the bandits catching up to me, travelling inside a cramped cage with little to no food, the explosion hurling me out of the carriage, getting unlucky and meeting an asshole who borderline killed me for bumping into him.

It was kind of funny watching Miach's kind face slowly go through the 5 stages of shock and pity. He was listening intently in the beggining, when he heard about my parents his face turned sympathetic, when I told him about the bandits his face gained a hint of anger, especially when I told him about the werewolf couple. His mouth opened like a fish out of water when I told him that the bandits were kidnapping the beast humans. His expression turned happy when he heard about the confrontation with the Ganesha familia and resigned when I told him about the jackass who threw me into the alley way.

Naaza just held a complicated face all through the story. "I'm sorry you had to go through that child", Miach said in a soft voice. I was about to respond until Naaza said, "that means you can't pay us back for the potions". Miach looked over to her and started lecturing her. "Naaza! That's extremely insensitive, he just experienced something traumatic. I gave him the potions out of kindness. He doesent need to pay us back".

Dang. I almost started crying. Everytime Miach opens his mouth it's like a kindness overload. Though Naaza is right. I need to pay them back, they quite literally saved my life.

"No no, Naaza is right Sir- I mean, Miach. I do need to pay you back as you saved my life. Im willing to work for you without pay, or do anything you want", I said. I felt a little ashamed because I was kind of taking advantage of Miach's kindness as I knew he would never let me work without pay. I was basically a homeless kid with nothing to his name so getting a job was pretty high on my priority list.

"Look lord Miach, he wants to pay us back and who are we to say no? We have to pay off that debt'', Naaza said a bit hot headedly. She really was all about that money, respectable.

Miach gained a conflicted look as he entered a thinking pose. Whilst watching this go down system window opened.

This system is a real blessing! I didn't even know Miach was a god, but now that I think about it. He does give off a different aura as to Naaza and the other people I've met.

"Lord Miach, if I may", I requested permission before speaking. I picked up calling him lord from Naaza. He listened and .side a gesture for me to go on. "What if I join your familia and work for you as an adventurer. I swear on my name that I will pull my weight and not use the familia treasury to fund my own living. 40% of what I earn will go to you. If you wish for it to be more, it will be", I looked towards Miach as I said this. I really meant every word that I said as I didn't want to rip this guy off.

Miach looked at me and smiled that kind smile which I saw every time I had seen him. "You speak the truth and it is true we need all the help we can get. Though none of the supporting yourself nonsense. We are a family, and we will give you anything you need to succeed if you wish to join our familia. Though I can't in good conscience let you join us without telling you of our incurred debt", Miach said in a soft voice. Naaza seemed to look down when the debt was mentioned.

I nodded towards Miach and he spoke, "the debt we have incurred is 135 million valid and it continues to go up due to interest".

I don't have any memory of currency from my previous life. In this life I didn't think about money much either because my parents used to go out hunting for food and farm. So I genuinely had no idea of that was a lot ot not.

"... Is that a lot?", when I said that Naaza looked up confused and Miach held a similar expression. "Yes child, that is a lot. Might I ask how old you are?". I actually forgot my age so I sneakily opened up the system Interface and looked at my age. It said 13. I made a body for a 15 year old, the system said it was gonna send me when I was aged 14 but my current age is 13? I think the system bugged or something.

"I am 13 years old Lord Miach", I said resolutely as I looked at him. "The village I came from was also fairly detached from the world so I don't have much comprehension of what valis are worth".

"Hmm... We're you or your parents hunters?" "Yes" "then imagine you hunt 5 deer a day. You would have to hunt 5 deer a day for 200 years to clear our debt. Also keep in mind the debt increases per month so you'd have to hunt 6 deer per day every next month", Lord Miach said. My jaw dropped as I started to slightly regret my proclamation.

Ack! Why are you sooming me to a life of working system! "Close your mouth or you might eat a fly", Naaza said. "L-lord Miach, I still want to join your familia", as soon as these words came out of my mouth Lord Miach pulled me close and hugged me. "Thank you child, this means alot''. He pulled back. "For now Naaza will take you out and get you acclimated to Orario and the prices of things here, you will be given your falna tomorrow as I am currently busy with potion making", lord Miach said.

Naaza looked a bit miffed, "do I have to Lord Miach? I wanted to laze around a bit". "No chance Naaza, go with him", Miach said with a serious face. "Fineee...", Naaza sighed as she got up. "You rest for a bit and I'll bring you some food. You're still a bit weak, we'll go out in a few hours. It's still only 10 am".

Atleast I knew the time now.
