THUD
As the prison guards drove, the rumbling of the Ouroboros vibrated to the inside of their APV.
Of course, there was only one actual driver. The female guard had one hand on the wheel and the other to Churchhill.
"Bwammmbwaaagh!" Churchhills illegible speech was apparent. It was difficult to speak with a gun in your mouth after all.
"This should be far enough, even if you turned back now, there's not enough fuel to make it to the rendezvous anymore." the woman guard said as she removed her pistol from Churchhill's lips. She was dressed in the same uniform, the Fenrir logo was black and muzzled.
Churchhill slumped in his seat, breathing raggedly.
"What do you think you're doing?" he asked apprehensively.
"Keeping us alive, and out of a tribunal. If we continued on right into that red rain, then whatever happened would've been on us. This way all liability will be on the Branch. We just have to drive so the god-eaters can do their job." she said.
"It's better this way Weston. We couldn't have secured our escape regardless. Not from this thing…" a voice called from behind the driver's seats.
Churchhill grits his teeth and kicked the nearest console.
"(I can't believe Ouroboros are real!)" he thought.
"Attention! Convoy do you read me!?" Kota's voice buzzed from the radio.
"We hear you, what are our orders?" The woman said.
"I've cleared a space for you, once we meet I'm taking over as the distraction, watch for the flare." he said.
The woman looked in front to see a light accompanied by off-colored smoke.
"We see you! ETA 1 min. 30 seconds." she said.
The officer slammed her foot on the pedal as she changed the gears. The APV picked up speed, making the stomps of the Aragami hasten.
"Don't set off the traps! Follow the markers, then get yourselves outta here!" Off in the distance, a green jeep was approaching at similar speeds.
The officer's APV drifted right as the Jeep kept on a collision course with the Ouroboros.
"WERE HOME FREE!" Churchhill screamed. The female guard cringed at the volume.
"Oh no…" another call was heard from the back.
"Hayden! What's wrong!?" the female officer replied.
Another male officer broke into the cockpit frantically.
"INCOMING!" Hayden screamed!
The driver looked in her rearview and was blinded by a light. The APV almost capsized.
The officer desperately bore down on the wheel, with no sight to aid her.
As the APV drifted, the officer saw the line of shock traps and the markings to her exit. The marking was far from her current course.
"(There's no choice!)" The officer spun the wheel with all her might.
"HEY, what are you doing!?" Churchhill shouted.
The APV swerved on its left wheels and its tires dragged and drifted along the edge of the trap line. Ever so slightly the APV started to tilt over. The driver ignored Churchhill's screams as she pulled with all her might away from the trap line.
The APV successfully tilted away from the line landing on its side.
"Hey, you alright in there!? Come in!" Kota yelled into the radio, but he did not turn his jeep back. He could only put the device away and grab his god-arc.
Shot after shot, Kota fired right in the red eyes of the Ouroboros. The red glow intensified as a white tentacle swung under Kotas jeep and launched it sideways.
Kota jumped out of the seat and kept firing, following up with a flash grenade.
The eyes of the Ouroboros flashed out of sequence and stumbled.
"Stupid monster you owe me a new car!! (I gotta check that convoy!)" Kota thought as he peeked back at the APV. No sound could be heard from the vehicle and the doors were still shut.
"(But I should move it away first!)" Kota ran to his right. Running straight back would likely doom the convoy and its passengers.
The Ouroboros blind as it was still fired a beam that cut in front of Kota's path.
Then it immediately stuck its tendril arm into the ground. Numerous white drills erupted causing Kota to stumble. They spread far and wide, expanding to the trap line.
"(Just one-more-INCH.)" Kota gritted his teeth seeing the very last drill stop short of the shock trap.
"WHAT, I GOTTA DANCE FOR YOU!?" Kota shouted angrily. The Ouroboros seemed to have heard him. Its eyes were still blinking out of sequence, but it stared dead at Kota. A light began forming from the center of its face.
Kota scrambled frantically towards the trap line and jumped as high as he could. "(I aim this just right he won't hit the traps!)" Kota thought.
Kota swerved around and fired a bullet. At the same time, the Ouroboros fired a laser. Kota's bullet skirted the bottom of the beam and hit the Aragami's chin. When its head titled the laser changed trajectory.
The traps were safe.
"(That's taken care of. ...But how do I dodge that!?)" Kota thought as the laser shifted towards him.
Gravity would not yield to Kota. He floated too slow to get away from the beam. It got closer. And closer
And then.

Did Just I die?

UGH! THIS SUCKS!
Well...I guess there's nothing I can do about it...
Kota slowly opened his eyes to see the vast clouded sky.
"(At least the view ain't bad. The winds in my face...my cold dead, yet, warm face....I'll get to talk to dad, face to face. There's so much to tell...)" Kota thought. He could feel the wind brush on his skin, as he floated through the sky.
"(Hey wait...did my god-arc die too?)" Kota flexed his fingertips and felt the rim of his machine gun.
Look Alive
Kota recognized the voice and looked to his side. Something big went in and out of his sight. Something flapping.
"San-hOOOOOOOLY COW!?" Kota screamed.
If possible aiming for a double release today. I don't expect to get the time though, so I might be done tomorrow or Tuesday.
