Training to be a marine

Aka and I walked the forest floor for a few hours and ran into another kid. The kid glared at me and dragged his hunted food back toward Dadans house. I shook my head and went back to walking.

Aka had killed a few rabbits so we cooked and ate them before climbing a tree. I frowned once we got to a higher branch, "Aka, let's go somewhere else."

"There is a cave over that way, let's go sleep there." Aka said and jumped branch to branch to get down.

We went to the cave and found a giant snake with its eggs living in it. I was about to leave when a noise rang in my head.

Every day was the same, hunting and training. Occasionally we came across luffy following the other boy but we stayed hidden. Why would we waste time with children?

Aka had a run in with the tiger. We learned that regeneration is painful and takes a lot of energy. Also, we arent very powerful. Aka is able to light things on fire, sure, but it's not powerful enough to do most creatures harm. The snke was toasted alive simply because it was near dead when we found it. All I can do is withstand extreme temperatures and have an impossible time of dieing stuck as a little boy... Fuck...

My system store can give me techniques, powers and things, however I found something dumbfounding. For 1 billion points I can get a devil fruit, however i need double the points to get a second one without exploding. The most I can get from a mission is 500 points, which will be used in case of emergency and I need to regenerate, making 1 point per bone and 5 per organ. So I need to train like my life depends on it.

I also decided that I wont cut my hair all that short, I liked Toshiro's (Bleach) hair style so I mimicked it. My hair was raven black with dark red undertones. I had golden brown eyes, and stood about 4 and a half feet tall. My muscles compact and not bulky.

In the months of training with Aka, I doubled all of my stats but INT and WIS. I dont get points or exp for killing everything, still havent figured out the proper ways to get exp. Whatever. I have however trained a bit in ninja running, archery, swordsmanship, and a bunch of other weapons. I only have basic mastery on them though, since I dont have a proper teacher.

Garp came to visit. He found me in the forest and decided I should have a proper teacher. I was so happy to finally get away from that island, even if it had only been 8 months. We said our goodbyes to the group and left.

Aka had grown to nearly 5 feet tall. I was able to ride on him but I decided to train my ninja skills on the way back. I say ninja skills but it's only running, jumping, and landing without making a sound swiftly. I suck at it but it would be powerful when mastered.

As I landed on the last tree at the exit of the forest, Garp called out to me, "Hey boy, let's go already."

"Coming!" I yelled back and jumped from branch to branch, until I landed on the ground, "So where are we going?"

"You'll see. I think it's high time you have a name." Garp said as we walked to the ships, Aka following closely.

"A name, huh?" I said while thinking.

"Have an idea already?" Garp asked.

"I like Hisoka. Or Kyouya." I said after a bit.

"Why those names?" Garp asked.

"Secret..." I said with a light smile.

"Well I dont like either. Neither name suits you... Let's call you..." Garp spoke with a thinking face so I interrupted him.

"Ken..." I said, thinking about another of my favorite characters.

"There ya go. Ken, let's get you properly trained." Garp hit my back as we boarded the ship.

We went to a bunch of different island. I had to fight my way off the islands, I learned how to properly use a sword and bow, and upgraded my skills. Because I was trained by marines I was able to almost instantly learn it but I desperately needed the battle practice.

Along with training, I finished menial quests and racked in points and a odd tickets. Discount tickets, Evolution tickets, Medical tickets, Outfit tickets, Mystery tickets, Quest tickets, etc. I decided to save the evolution ones for Aka once he couldnt grow any farther in his current form. I spent the mystery tickets and ended up with odd things like shinigami eyes, draught of living death potion, different language books, memory foam coffin, etc. I left it all in the inventory except the eyes and books. The eyes would help with decoy things and the books, well I always wanted to learn another language. It really came down to comfort or being looked at oddly with the coffin, I mean sure its memory foam on the inside but it's a coffin.

Aka was now 1 year old, standing at 5 and a half feet tall with black and reddish tan fur. He was a handsome liger, I'll give him that but he could be stronger. So could I for that matter. I was now 7 years old, about 5 feet tall. My hair had changed slightly over the year since I had absorbed different animals blood, causing me to get red tips.

Having decided to train harder, Garp decided to take us to islands with bad living conditions and low survivability rate. He dumped us and told us to come back to that exact spot in 3 months. Once we stepped off the boat, Garp laughed as he left.

Those three months were a pain in the ass. The animals had pack mentality and even worked together to try to get rid of us. Aka and I got maybe three hours of sleep a day, forget sleeping at night. The last few days, I had to choose between spending my points or just using the light saber. I needed the points so I wouldnt be stuck at 12 years old so I gave up and used the light saber. When we got to the ship, Garp questioned me on the odd device in my pocket but I waved him off and Aka told him about the trip. While they spoke, I looked at my stats.

We spent the next 5 years refining our technique and skills. We had learned all that Garp could teach, except haki. Aka's body became more refined and compact while I still looked like a stick without muscles. I had trained to use shuriken for the past year simply so people would overlook the 'harmless' little boy. I still wore a child sized version of Kenpachi Zaraki's captain uniform, tatters and all.

Today was the day Garp was taking me to meet the Fleet Admiral to discuss my joining into CP9 or another organization like it. We had just docked at the bay when a familiar voice reached my ears, "Hey Vice Admiral Garp, who is this?"

"This is Ken. Few years back someone left him and his pet on my boat. Today he might join the marines. Fufufu." Garp said with a mild chuckle.

"Hello again Mister." I said with a slight bow.

"Aha, it's you.. Your joining the marines so young?" the man asked.

"Yessir, we've been training the last six years for this. Thank you for your help back then." I said.

"Yes, thanks mister!" Aka chimed in.

"Hahaha So what brings you here?" Garp asked the man.

"Sengoku called all admirals and vice admirals for a meeting, I thought you knew about it." the man said.

"First I've heard of it. Come on kid, let's go take a look." Garp said and started walking off. The man followed behind Garp, occasionally glancing at Aka and I.

"Garp, I dont think you should bring the kid along to the meeting." the man said quietly.

"Sengoku wont mind. Besides the kid can take care of himself. Hes a little monster." Garp said to the man and glanced at me.

I frowned hearing that and whispered to myself and Aka, "Monster my ass. Wait for the show fufufu."

"What show?" The man asked.

"Nothing." I said quickly and smiled.

"? Okay?" the man went back to talking with Garp as we entered a building. Some marines tried to stop Aka and I from entering but Garp waved them off and lead the way.

We arrived in front of a large door, Garp sighed before shoving the door open and walking in with a smile, the man following him and Aka and I in his footsteps.

"Aokiji, What is the meaning of this? You brought a child to the meeting?!" an old man said.

"No. Garp did. Talk to him about it." the man, Aokiji, said.

"Garp?!" the old man turned to Garp and yelled.

"Ask the kid why he is here." Garp said with a yawn.

"....Why are you here boy?" the old man glared at me.

"Because I want to be a marine. Under the laws enforced by the government and the navy, I cannot legally join the marines without probable cause and a justifiable reason. Therefore the only option left is to either join Cipher Pol or be under the immediate instrustion and watchful eye of an Admiral." I said while staring at the man, "Garp has trained me for 6 years. I have hit a wall and cannot learn anything else other than Haki from him. He also refused to teach me navy technique unless I joined the marines legally."

"Garp, what is the meaning of this?" the old man looked at Garp angrily.

"Sigh~ How about he prove himself?" Garp suggested with smug look.

"And what if I just burn the little bastard alive?" a man in a hawaiian shirt said.

"If you can burn him, I'll retire. hahaha!" Garp laughed so hard he was bent over.

"Consider it a deal then." the hawaiian shirt guy said and started to turn to lava.

"If I dont get burned then what?" I asked quietly and looked at the man.

"Akainu, dont!" the old man yelled as hawaiian shirt guy sent a wave of lava onto me.

"Bye kid. Now what is this meeting about?" hawaiian shirt guy, Akainu, turned away and said.

"The meeting is about how vice admiral Garp has spent an unknown amount of time on this list of islands, spent an unknown amount of bad quality weapons, as well as reports of a liger following people through town." I said and handed out the papers I just stole from the old mans desk.

"Where did you get those?!" the old man yelled loudly.

"How are you alive?" Akainu asked.

"My apologies, apart of training was blending into my environment. I was also born with the constitution to resist heat and cold." I said and handed some papers back to the old man.

Garp was off to the side laughing his ass off as he hit the table. The old man watched me with both amazement and suspicion. Akainu seemed furious while the man who found me years ago was amused.

"Vice admiral Garp has spent years training me by sending me to islands with bad weapons to train for long periods of time. My pet is a liger, he is named Aka. He is civilized and will speak with you, though a bit blunt." I said.

"Hello." Aka said and laid on the ground.

"...." the group of people stared at Aka dumbfounded while Garp laughed harder.

"May we join the marines?" I asked once again. The old man looked at me oddly for a second then looked at the three admirals.

"Since you seem to know him, train him Aokiji. When he turns 16, bring him back and we can see if he is suitable to learn our techniques." the old man said and looked at me, "Why do you want to be a marine?"

"I have my reasons however, I'm sorry I cant share them right now." I said with a 'sorrowful' smile.

"Alright. When you get back, I expect an answer. Understand?" the old man said with a frown.

"Sir, Yessir." I said and saluted him.

"Alright. Since we know the reason for the issues, and have dealt with them, this meeting is over. Garp, a word." the old man said and dismissed everyone.

I went to the man, Aokiji, and saluted him, "Admiral Aokiji, thank you for letting me work with you, sir. I'll do my best not to let you down."
