He shook his head and said, "You can call me Kael. Nice to meet you, Charlotte."

"Nice to meet you too, Mr. Kael," they both said as they shook hands.

He felt a pleasant sensation holding her fair yet tender hand, but he also felt a sense of familiarity after their touch.

"No, she isn't. She's a variant."

Just like Kael, Charlotte frowned and fell into deep thought.

"I will offer you this," Kael took out a pack of bread and placed it in front of her.

"A pack of bread?" Charlotte's eyes widened.

"It's not expired," Kael added with a calm smile.

"What?" Charlotte and her sister, Elizabeth, both stood up with shocked expressions.

"Can I... Can I taste it?" they asked in shaky voices.

"Of course," said Kael, folding his hands and showing his bare teeth.

Charlotte hurriedly took the pack of bread and opened it. Both sisters took a slice and smelled it in unison. "Smells so nice."

Then they took a bite at the same time. "Hmm... Mmm... This texture... This sweetness... This slice of bread is just like the bread our grandma used to tell us about when we were kids."

Tears slid down their faces as they entered a dreamland while chewing the bread.

"Hmm, this is just bread, right? Do they have to react like this just from eating a slice of bread?" Kael was left speechless but continued to enjoy watching the happiness in the sisters' eyes.

"Ahem..." Elizabeth coughed, looking at her sister.

"Oh," Charlotte realized she was holding his hand and immediately released it, embarrassment coloring her face.

But as soon as she let go of his hand and withdrew hers, Elizabeth jumped on him, hugging him tightly. "Kael, thank you for giving us this bread. It's the first time I've ever tasted something so delicious in my life."

"Haha, as long as you like it," said Kael, feeling the smooth texture of her hips in his hands.

"I love it!" exclaimed Elizabeth.

Elizabeth's face turned beet red as she felt Kael's hands moving on her hips. She immediately loosened her grip around his neck, jumped back, and stood on her feet.

Charlotte moved close to her sister and reached out her hand to pinch her ear, feigning anger. "Do you still think you're a child? Why can't you act like a grown-up?"

"Ouch... Ouch... I just hugged him. Why are you exaggerating?" Elizabeth asked, her face showing pain.

"Hmph, I'll deal with you later," Charlotte reprimanded, then turned to Kael.

"Mr. Kael, I'm sorry for her behavior. Even though she's grown up, she acts like a kid sometimes. Please don't take offense," Charlotte said apologetically.

"No, it's okay. I really like it... Ahem, I mean, I like her childish behavior," said Kael, rubbing his hands.

"I want firearms and ores," Kael asked with a huge grin on his face.

"Deal," Charlotte immediately agreed. There was no way she was going to miss out on such a great deal.

The sniper was petrified on the spot, with a shocked expression on his face.

"Oh, do you two know each other?" asked Charlotte, surprise evident on her face.
