After the result, the police directly sprung into action. It was almost proved that Susie was depressed and committed suicide because of the fight with Ashton. Though they did not have any proof they had almost believed it in their heart. Like, why would a young, cheerful girl suddenly kill herself?
Kate was immediately informed about the result by the head police officer himself. The officer had gone to visit her, himself because he thought Kate would start creating a ruckus at the hospital itself, like how she did in the police station. But to the contrary, after hearing the news Kate politely asked everyone to leave her alone in her room for a while and not to come back inside till the end of the day. Even Emily couldn't convince her and hence all of them left her alone. They were scared that Kate might try harming herself, so they made sure not to leave any sharp or life threatening objects around her or in her ward.
Inside the ward -
Kate laid on her bed and faced the window, watching the scenery outside. She was in a daze. She already knew that Susie was pregnant, and that too with Ashton's child. But now hearing it from someone else's mouth hurt her heart like hell. She still couldn't believe that Susie took so much pain, just to protect her. She would always owe her, her everything.
She put on her earphones and put on some music. Music was the only thing which could possibly heal her..... or hurt her more....
She continued looking outside the window and didn't even realize when her pillow was soaked in her tears.
The music inside her head made her cry more....as if it was screaming about Kate....
'I'm sad inside, but I know it's for the best right?
You had to realize where you drew the line...'
.....
'I still hate it when you're not here.....
I know, I should, know, I should,
But no I don't care.....
This life's not fair, took advantage up there....'
Outside, it was getting cloudy and suddenly it started drizzling. The drops of rain on the surface of glass imitated the tears on Kate's cheek.... it was as if the heaven was crying on losing it's child...
Kate tried thinking about all the good moments with Susie, all the times she used to embarrass her in front of her teachers. Thinking about all of it now, she could have gladly accepted it or even hundred times of that humiliation.... but she wanted Susie back... her best friend back.... but was it possible? No....it wasn't...
She kept looking at her pictures with Susie and didn't even know when she slept.
Some morning...
