Even the butler couldn't help but voice out his opinion, "Young Master Lu, We should let the little girl stay here. No matter how good her adopted family is, you can't deny the fact that she isn't their daughter. There's always going to be that gap between them. So why not we place her somewhere where we can all look after her? That way, we'll all be at ease, yes?"

Lu Junhan looked at Lu Li's little back wordlessly.

It looks like she really was angry. She was pouting and she seemed adamant about ignoring her dreadful daddy. She only wanted to bury her face into Song Qingwan's neck.

Just like how she wanted to be close with Lu Junhan just now, she was trying to get cuddly with Song Qingwan right now. 

He should technically feel relieved to see this.

She was his daughter…

But he was the one being disliked right now.

Lu Junhan wasn't someone that could be persuaded to change his plans abruptly. When he said that he will find a good family for the little girl, then everyone must act according to his will.

It had always been like that.

Whether it was at Lu Corporation or the Lu Family.

Lu Junhan's brows were tightly knit. His lips moved. But he had no experience in calming a crying child down, so he didn't know what to say.

The butler said, "Young Master Lu, about that…"

It's not like we're under any financial constraints anyway. But make sure you look after her well! And don't let her appear before me without good reason!"

The butler merely shrugged and didn't treat his threat seriously.

A child's sobbing came and went like a fleeting storm.

When Lu Li saw that her daddy wanted her again, her moodiness faded away instantly. She was a happy little ball of sunshine again.

Unfortunately, that happy look on her face only lasted for a short while. When she saw that he was about to leave her behind again, she started becoming anxious. Letting go of Song Qingwan, she chased after him hastily. 

She called to him with a crystal-clear voice, "Daddy, daddy! Wait for me! You've left Lili behind!"

She couldn't leave her daddy no matter what! What if someone wanted to hurt him?

But, her daddy finally wanted her! She was so happy!

Lu Junhan didn't expect that the little girl would chase after him. When he heard what she said, he momentarily slowed down his pace and something in his heart trembled.

But he didn't stop to wait for her. He continued walking forwards, but his pace was so slow that it was obvious that he was waiting for her.

Lu Li caught up with him quickly. She reached out her tiny little hands to grab her daddy's hands. 

Her hand was so small and soft. As if he could easily break it into pieces by just tightening his grasp slightly.

Lu Junhan's body stiffened up, and the way he walked suddenly turned awkward as if he was trying his best not to hurt the little girl.

Realizing that he wasn't going to fling her tiny hand away, a glitter appeared in the little girl's eyes. She said to him in a soft voice, "Daddy, I'm so happy..."

The man pursed his lips. He still felt thought that the kid was a nuisance. Her mood could change so suddenly, from crying in such a pitiful manner to a beaming smile within a matter of seconds. She said how she didn't like him anymore, but what followed next was her looking up at him with an overjoyed expression. 

He couldn't understand what was going on inside that little head of hers.

Lu Junhan had been wearing the same poker face since when he was little.

He never felt joy before in his life, even when he was only a child. 

Even though he had under his possession, the biggest business empire within Hai City, all the wealth and prestige one could only dream of, his life was devoid of joy. 

He had a general disinterest towards life and nothing could pique his interest. Nothing made him happy.

It was a rare occasion for something, let alone someone else to pique his interest. With a raised eyebrow, he asked the ball of excitement that was Lu Li, "Why are you so happy?"
