In ancient times, the famous painter Zhang Sengyou once painted a lifelike Golden Dragon on the wall.
However, the dragon lacked eyes, so everyone asked him to add the eyes to the dragon.
Zhang Sengyou replied, "If I add the eyes, the dragon will fly away."
Of course, no one believed this and insisted that he add the eyes.
Zhang Sengyou had no choice but to comply. Before everyone's eyes, he picked up his brush and gently added eyes to the dragon.
In an instant, the sky filled with dark clouds, fierce winds blew, and thunder and lightning flashed!
The "eye-drawing" Golden Dragon suddenly broke free from the wall and soared into the sky, actually flying away amidst the clouds!
This is the origin of the phrase "bringing a dragon to life by dotting its eyes," and the principle similarly applies to the refinement of the Divine Soul.
It's often said, "The eyes are the windows to the soul"; they are the most communicative and expressive features on the human face.
