Monster?

The next morning, Max is dressed casually as his mother requested. Shirt, trousers, but with an additional jacket.

Even though he was going to the office later to pick up his things, Max was no longer required to wear formal attire. He's been fired, remember?

Arriving at the company, Max smiled bitterly. Getting a job is not easy, but losing a job is as easy as breathing.

"Good morning, everyone," Max greeted as he entered his Division.

"Morning, Max," replied the five seniors who had arrived at the office.

"You really got fired, Max?" Alden, his best friens, asking with a sad voice.

"Yeah, Tom said it directly yesterday," Max replied with a faint smile.

"Too bad," Alden muttered.

"Should I talk to my mom about this?" Alden offers, who is actually the son of the owner of the company where they work.

"Thanks, but don't do that, Alden. I feel bad, and maybe my performance is also bad," Max said uncomfortably.

"Everyone knows that your work is good, Max. Even better than me, my mom often praises you. So if my mother finds out about this problem, I'm sure you can still work because you are a competent employee than than that brainless human," Alden said with an amused expression.

Max shook his head vaguely, he didn't want to be seen as nepotism. "Once again, thank you. But I don't like being helped by insiders like this."

The crowd that had gathered around Max's table fell silent when they saw Tom enter the door of their Division's office.

"When you're done, leave immediately. Don't forget to turn over the employee card, you'll misuse it to deceive other people with the name of this company," Tom grumbled.

Tom was in a bad mood because he saw Max who was still the center of attention even though he had been kicked out from this job.

"Yes, sir. Thank you for your guidance so far, apologize for all the shortcomings and mistakes that I made. Everyone, see you another time," Max said while bowing his body.

"Bye, Max. Hope you can find a better workplace than here, don't forget to meet up with us often!" said the seniors and co-workers.

BOOM!

DUARRR!!

BOOMMMMM!

Again, the sound of an explosion like yesterday was heard. And today more than once.

"HELP US!!!" a woman screamed from the Marketing Division who was next to the Accounting Division, where Max was standing.

"MONSTERS!!"

"ARGHHH!"

Screams filled the 21st floor, everyone in the accounting division looked confused. Until someone fell on the floor and had convulsions with wide eyes as if they wanted to get out. The body of a person who falls to the floorrapidly changed color to a bluish-gray with the veins showing.

"HARGHHH!!!"

In less than five seconds, the person who had been convulsing bit the leg of one of the seniors near Max and immediately the senior also lay on the floor with a very rapid change in skin color. The symptoms are the same as the person before.

"What's this?" Alden muttered in a confused tone.

Everything happened too fast for their brains to process it too late.

"Zombies?" Riana hissed.

"ZOMBIES?! They turn into zombies?" Tom screamed with wide eyes.

If they look closely, the characteristics that appear on the body of the person who is now having convulsions and biting other people is indeed similar to zombies in movies.

"ARGHHH!!! PLEASE!!!"

The person who might have turned into a Zombie was limping but fast enough, chasing the crowd who kept running to avoid being bitten.

BUGH!

Tom hit the zombie with his golf club which happened to be in the office. But the Zombie only fell for a while and got back up.

"WHAT DO YOU LOOK AT, YOU STUPID?! GET OUT THIS ZOMBIE IMMEDIATELY!" Tom shouted like crazy.

Max, who witnessed all of that, he just ran, not trying to fight back. And Tom's golf club fell because he couldn't hold it tight.

Suddenly Tom, who ran together with them, pushed Max so that the young man fell down.

"MAX!!" Some of his friends screamed in surprise seeing Max being pushed like that.

"Shut up, you guys! No need to be so exaggerated! At least if he's being eaten by those Zombies, we still have time to escape," Tom snorted in annoyance.

Max, who was pushed and approached by the zombies, did not remain silent. He grabbed Tom's golf level that had fallen earlier to be used as a weapon.

"Welcome to the System manual, Regulus Maximillian. Please follow the given instructions to exterminate the Zombies."

A system appeared in Max's eyes, for a moment he gasped in confusion. But there was no time to waste, Max immediately positioned himself in a stance, and on the bodies of several Zombies that approached him, there were red dots on the Head, neck, and.. the jewel in the center of the chest right in the in front of his heart.

"DAMN IT!!!" growled Max as he swung the golf club at the top of the zombie's head marked with a red dot.

CRASHHH!!!

Green blood spurted instantly when the Zombie's head was crushed by Max's punch. And this time Zombie really fell and didn't get up again.

There were four Zombies left, which was only three before but it turned out to have increased by two during their escape.

"Max! Finish them all! If you can protect me, I'll give you a job as a regular employee!" Tom said shamelessly. He immediately changed the way he spoke to be more gentle.

Among all the current employees, Max is the bravest and looks promising because he can knock Zombie down with just one punch.

"I don't need it anymore," Max hissed breathlessly. He issued a large enough force to be able to completely overthrow the zombie.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN?! Just because you can finish off those zombies, don't get cocky!" Tom snapped.

"That's my golf club!" Tom pointed at the weapon Max was using.

"Oh?" Max lifted the club and threw it at Tom, "then please just use that golf club to kill Zombie by yourself," Max said with a grin in his handsome face.

Now, he understands his mother's vague mumbling yesterday when they called, which he thought had misheard.

'Although starting tomorrow all the work is useless, but still..'

That was his mother's mumble yesterday. For some reason Max's feeling said that his mother's word referred to the current situation. Moreover, his mother ordered him to bring a crowbar, chain, and matches, as if she wanted to do something unusual.

"Harghhh.." The zombie continued to roar as if it was thirsty and hungry and approached the remaining seven people including Max, Alden, and Tom in that room.

"You are crazy?!" Tom shouted angrily, he don't want to face the Zombie directly.

"I'LL GIVE YOU A JOB AFTER THIS! BUT FINISH ALL THE ZOMBIES!" Tom ordered with a beet red face.

"I don't want to, sir. My business here is finished, sorry. I have other business," Max said.

There were a few things he could use a weapon in his belongings left in the office. One of them was a baseball bat that he recently brought because there was a competition at the company.

"I have to pick up Mom," Max muttered, glancing at the clock.

It turned out that this business took longer than he thought, because it was already ten o'clock.

The remaining four Zombies were being beaten on the head by Alden and several female seniors simultaneously, they were working quite well together.

"Max, I'm coming!" shouted Alden who ran after him to get out of the door of the accounting division's room.

"Where are you going?" Max ask Alden.

"I want to pick up my Mom, this afternoon she just returned from Medan," Alden replied.

"Really? We're same. I also want to pick up my Mom at Soekarno Hatta International Airport." Max smiled, apparently he had a friend to accompany him to pick up his mother.

"Under these circumstances, is the flight okay?" Alden muttered sadly, worried for his mother.

"My mom is also from Medan to Jakarta, arrived at 11:45 am. I don't know if it's safe or not," Max replied slowly.

The two young men whose age difference was only two years came out of the door together and gasped when they found that there were so many Zombies in the corridor.

"Damn..." Max cursed in annoyance because almost everyone on this floor had become Zombies, only a few people left from each Division.
