"Bang bang bang..."
The rhythmic bursts of gunfire, mingled with the low roar of engines, painted a grim picture as the group sped through the desolate streets. The journey, which lasted barely twenty minutes, felt like an eternity to Miko and the others.
It wasn't until they had personally used the firearms that they realized how challenging it was to maintain steady aim. For ordinary people like them, the recoil was brutal; their hands ached, and they feared they might drop their weapons at any moment.
"Vegeta, we've arrived!"
Shizuka announced as she pulled up to the entrance of a secluded estate. The neighborhood was once a luxurious villa complex, now overrun with the undead.
"Alright, let's wait until they finish clearing the area before we go in."
Vegeta responded casually, though his mind was elsewhere, his expression pensive.
"Vegeta, may I take a bath first?"
Shizuka's voice was soft, almost coquettish, as she looked up at him with pleading eyes.
"Fine, do as you like. You all can settle in here for now; I need to step out for a bit."
Vegeta's tone was resigned, his stern demeanor softening slightly as he regarded Shizuka. Despite her childish demeanor, she never crossed his boundaries, and he found her presence oddly tolerable. With a slight smile, he playfully pinched her cheek, then turned serious.
After instructing the others to protect Shizuka, Vegeta leaped out the window, disappearing into the sky within seconds. The group watched him go, a mix of relief and awe in their eyes.

Vegeta headed straight for the United States after leaving the villa. Compared to Japan, America had an arsenal of far more powerful weapons.
Although it would make sense for Miko and her team to gather resources on the way, Vegeta knew their pace would be too slow. Instead, he decided to handle it himself; this way, he'd quickly amass an array of weapons for their use.
There was another reason he chose to go alone: although the zombies were stronger than anticipated, there were still many places in Japan that hadn't been fully overrun. This included military bases, and Vegeta preferred not to waste time engaging with the military when he could easily collect what he needed on his own.
Ultimately, Vegeta valued the points earned in the Reincarnation Space more. Each 100 points could be exchanged for one free attribute point, a direct boost that far outpaced continuous training. Balancing his options, he decided that helping Miko's team was akin to helping himself.
With his incredible speed, the distance between Japan and the United States was trivial. After pinpointing his destination, Vegeta arrived in America within minutes.
Landing in a chaotic city, Vegeta observed the stark contrast to Japan. The population here was larger, but the situation was far more chaotic, true to the nation's reputation for rugged individualism.
A quick glance revealed clusters of "ordinary" citizens armed with small-caliber pistols, desperately trying to fend off the zombies. Their futile attempts only served to attract more of the undead. Lacking any understanding of the zombies' behavior, these civilians quickly found themselves overwhelmed once their magazines were empty.
Some managed to survive longer by barricading themselves in sturdy buildings, but they were the exceptions.
Vegeta surveyed the scene briefly before making a beeline for the nearest police station.
"There's something approaching fast!"
A police officer on lookout duty, peering through binoculars, suddenly spotted Vegeta speeding through the air. The officer was too stunned to clearly make out Vegeta's features.
"Is it a zombie?"
Another officer beside him asked, frowning slightly.
"No... it looks like... a human, but they're flying!"
"What? Are you out of your mind?"
The second officer scoffed, thinking his colleague had lost his grip on reality. But before he could react, a thunderous boom echoed nearby.
Vegeta had landed with such force that it created a small crater in the ground, sending shockwaves that blew the two officers off their feet.
"What the hell just happened?!"
"Are you crazy? You made that noise?"
Five or six more officers burst out of the station, their faces a mix of confusion and hostility. Although they wore police uniforms, their rough demeanor suggested otherwise. In truth, these men were once part of a local gang. When the zombie outbreak began, they seized control of the police station amidst the chaos.
Now, with the military and official police forces struggling to maintain order, these former gang members ruled the area like tyrants.
