"As I thought... You don't die."
The elder muttered as he put away the gun. I took a deep breath and looked around me. Blood had splattered all around the room and was still running down my cheeks.
I had felt the pain of the bullet tearing my brain apart. I had felt the pain of death... Yet, I was still breathing.
"Let me guess... You come from a world that hasn't been reset yet."
"... I had heard something like that too."
I kept taking deep breaths as I calmed myself down. Then with a hoarse voice, I agreed with the old "me" before me.
"Hm... No wonder you know nothing. Oh well."
He came behind me in his wheelchair and untied my ropes with a sigh. I brought my wrists forward and rubbed the red areas. I couldn't die, but I still felt pain... I was missing my old body.
"How did you gain such a mind?"
The elder moved back to his previous place behind the desk.
"... Anubis helped me."
"Is Anubis perhaps a god?"
