Faster Than Sound

"What you're saying is, we've got ourselves a fat lamb?" A man with short black hair and red eyes said with a wicked grin on his face. This man was called Red Eye Berserker. Whenever he fought against others, he didn't care about the state of his body. He was like a madman consumed by revenge even when he fought in lesser serious battles.

His red eyes left some with mental scars. Soon, they began calling him the Red Eye Berserker. This person was now filled with curiosity as he listened to the words from one of his few allies, Golden Serpent.

The duo had realized that this Oblivion had a backup plan, otherwise, he wouldn't so openly choose to carry around a sword that was growing stronger. They, to survive till now, still had some common sense, so they decided to plan and prepare for some time before they go and hunt down this Oblivion.

They didn't want to rush anything. In this world, if you couldn't control your greed, you'll find yourself killed by it. Without this greed though, one wouldn't be able to stride forward and grow stronger.

Because of these two contradictions, cultivators always lived on a tightrope. Only those with high luck could reach the end of this rope and not fall off and into the infinite abyss they thread over.

...

...

"Yes, I'd like to accept this one..." A masked figure uttered. Standing across the desk was a blue-haired young man who had a surprised expression on his face. Though he had heard the rumors, wasn't this still a little too much?

'Accepting a B+ rank mission, that to doing it all by yourself...' The young man thought. This was after all meant for at the very least a group of five Pseudo Profound Immortals led by a Profound Immortal.

Soon the expression returned to an expressionless one.

This was still acceptable though. An A-Class Adventurer had all the authority to do this. Once it wasn't an A-rank mission, all A-Class Adventurers could accept missions under A-rank and choose to do so solo.

After exiting the Mission Hall, the masked figure leisurely made his way to the gates of the city while the many figures who walked on the city streets seemed to be unable to sense him. His aura was...

Well, he seemed to not have a presence whatsoever. If one wanted to see him, their eyes would usually need to lock onto his heavenly features but at the moment, he had a mask of a disturbing smiling demon.

Those burning gazes, he had gotten sick of it and since he wasn't able to even shapeshift since his body structure was something that he could quite grasp, Oblivion was left with no other choice than to buy a mask.

This mask itself was a Low-Level Treasure. Different from a Low-Level Weapon Treasure, it was simply something that allowed him to go unnoticed by others under the Level 3 Earth Immortal realm.

Coupled with his already non-existent presence, Oblivion could most likely go under the radar from the senses of anyone who wasn't a Peak Level Profound Immortal or over. Well, this was if they weren't paying attention.

While thinking this, Oblivion had already bypassed the guards and had entered the forest. The location of his mission was for the first time, in a location passed this forest.

Compared to a few months back when he had exited the forest to enter the Slaying Dragons Safe Zone, this forest was now filled with many different beasts of different levels.

When Oblivion first accepted a mission and entered the forest, he was left utterly flabbergasted by the number of beasts that he thought had already been killed by him. This caused another massive slaughter of beasts.

It was only after a couple of missions did Oblivion understand that the forest itself seemed to be constantly respawning monsters.

'Probably, the only way to permanently kill these monsters, one must either destroy the forest in one attack...' Oblivion thought. A chuckle escaped his lips while thinking this. He had first-hand experience with the durability of every tree in the forest.

Even after battling Profound Immortal Beasts, the most damage he had caused was one hundred-meter clearance. And that was with his full power. To destroy the forest in one move. To destroy such a durable place spanning thousands of kilometers filled with countless trees that could tank attacks capable of destroying multiple stars without even gaining a mark...

One's power needed to be many levels above a Profound Immortal.

'The only other way to permanently kill these monsters would be to use my Annihilation...'

After some time, he had a basic understanding of Annihilation. Anything he killed with it, they had not one chance of being resurrected.

Anyway, at the moment, he was moving at an incredible speed as he rushed to meet someone. It was someone who had something to do with his mission.

But, while he was traveling through the forest, he was able to sense the illusion of being watched..., a few thousand meters away from him, seven shadows jumped from tree to tree quietly following behind Oblivion.

Of the seven, though restrained, five of them radiated with an energy that was many levels higher than any Earth Immortal. The other two were even more attention drawing as one had long golden hair and even though her face was covered by a black mask, her hazel eyes would draw in any man.

Next to her was a coldly smiling Red Eye Berserker as he gazed toward the aura-less man they were following. His almost crazed smirk was glued on his face as he thought of the many ways to torture this unlucky fellow who had gained his attention.

But, just as his grin had reached to his ears, his expression froze as the aura-less man they were following suddenly...

...

'So I've got myself some stalkers...' Oblivion thought with a smirk under his mask. His muscles tightened and with one powerful leap from the branch of a tree which he landed on...

WAA!

In a sudden burst of immense physical power that was many times impossible for a Level 1 Earth Immortal such as himself, Oblivion's speed at which he was traveling suddenly multiplied tens of times successfully reaching the speed of sound inside the Heavenly Mystic Domain!!!

Such a feat wasn't something any Earth Immortal could achieve. One must know that throughout the Cosmos, there were many Low-Level, Mid-Level, and High-Level Worlds. Then there were the Ultra-Level and Supreme-Level Worlds.

Each of these worlds had a certain limit of speed one can achieve before one went faster than the sound itself. Any Earth Immortal could achieve the speed of sound even Supreme-Level Worlds yet once they stepped into the Universe... In the void of space, they couldn't possibly reach the limit.

Inside the Heavenly Mystic Domain, if one wanted to travel at the speed of sound, one would have to go at a speed many times faster than if they were inside the Universe and wanted to travel faster than the speed of sound.

The limits inside Heavenly Mystic Domain were simply much higher because it was many times more durable than even the Universe. After all, the Heavenly Mystic Domain wasn't inside the Universe itself, hence the reason why time moved soo much faster than in the Cosmos.

BOOM!!!

Oblivion shattered the sound barrier as his stalkers were left stupefied by the fact that Oblivion's figure disappeared from their sight!
