Of-course it's him

Hearing his friend...master Bai mumbled which is only audible to himself "how can i not come today....i have to know if its him whom my daughter is searching as well as me."

"did you say something?" master Ai asked after releasing from his hug.

"ahh....no....i was just saying i have to come today to make up the other time" master bai said.

"are you not welcoming me master Ai but only your friend?" madam bai joked with master Ai.

"how can i not welcome to madam bai ? on the top of that the only young miss of su family.....how dare i?" master Ai also joked with her with same sense of humor.

"you have great sense of humor master Ai" madam Bai praised him.

"Thank you. By the way, madam Bai.... is Old Master Su alright? Today your brother called me and apologized for not attending the banquet. He mentioned that Old Master Su is not feeling well, so you will attend from the Su family's side. I hope it's not anything serious." Master Ai asked with concern.

"its not that serious....he is just having fever so they stayed to take care of him....and just call me as Su fen tonight since i will be attending the event from Su family's side not as madam of Bai family." Madam Bai said with a polite smile.

"sure.....please get inside" Master Ai requested them to enter the venue. Master Ai and madam Bai are not that close....but they met in various events.

Master Bai and Madam Bai entered the venue with Master Ai. After entering the venue, Master Ai got separated from them and told them to enjoy the event.

After two minutes, Master Ai took the microphone and walked to the center stage of the venue. He politely asked everyone for their attention and said, "Welcome everyone, I hope you are having a great time at the event. As you may already know, today's banquet is in honor of my son's birthday. Unfortunately, we couldn't celebrate his 18th birthday due to some unforeseen circumstances. Therefore, we, the Ai family, warmly welcome you to our eldest son's 23rd birthday banquet tonight. Please join me in giving a round of applause to my son, Ai Chang."

A handsome man in his 20s appeared on the stage, took the microphone, and after hugging his father, said, "Thank you, Dad. Good evening everyone, please continue to enjoy the banquet." He then took a wine glass from the waiter and raised a toast to express gratitude to the guests for attending the event. Then the banquet started officially.

All these events were witnessed by the Bai couple. They were astonished to see the handsome young man on the stage. They are now sure that he is the one their daughter has been searching for and the father of their granddaughter, the could see the similarity of the man on the stage and their granddaughter.

"So, it's him... Our guess was correct," exclaimed Madam Bai excitedly because she was happy for her daughter.

"of course it's him...his name matches...even his age matched...everything makes sense now" master Bai commented in daze.

"its good its him....i just hope he is single otherwise it will get complicated " madam bai said with a complicated look.

"i will ask him when he comes to our table with xiang to get acquainted" master Bai said with a smirk....he thought ' if he dared to have girlfriend and forgot my daughter...he will be dead....i will just reveal right here that he has a daughter...and destroy his reputation...later what happens we will see'

"don't you dare to interfere between their relationship....just let lu handle it....if you interfere in-between it will be more complicated between the 3 families....which can even affect the country...you know that right?"

"i will not interfere directly...but he must pass my test for me to calm down...so don't worry dear"

"and don't reveal or mention lu" Madam Bai warned her husband.

"got it...got it....look they are coming towards us" Master bai nodded and informed his wife when he saw the father-son pair is coming towards their table.

After the father-son duo reached their table, Master Ai introduced them to his son. He said, "Son, please meet Master Bai and Madam Bai from the Bai family - one of the three most prominent families." Then, he looked at them and continued, "And this is my eldest son, Ai Chang, who is also the future heir of our family". 

Upon hearing the mention of the Bai family, Ai Chang was taken aback. The name brought back memories of Bai Lu. As he looked at the couple in front of him, he met the eyes of Master Bai. Despite never having met before, Ai Chang could sense hostility coming from him, although he didn't know the reason why.

Master Bai closely observed Ai Chang's every move, even noticing from his surprise till their eyes met. Although Ai Chang attempted to conceal his reaction, Master Bai, having been in the business industry for years, was still able to perceive it.

"Hello son, congratulations on your 23rd birthday. I hope you have a long and happy life in the future," Madam Bai greeted Ai Chang, first noticing that they were still maintaining eye contact.

Master Bai broke eye contact upon hearing his wife and greeted him, "Congratulations on your 23rd birthday."

"Thank you, Madam and Master Bai," Ai Chang said. He still didn't understand why Master Bai was hostile towards him. Although it wasn't obvious, he could feel it in his eyes.
