Blood Flame Sect

The next morning, Zhang Jiao prepares his tools for the journey. He is thinking about Jessica. "A Mortal who is not afraid of facing against Cultivators. "Hi Zhang Jiao!" she said with excitement.

The way to the cave Jessica wants to enter is at southeast direction, following the sea until they reach the cliffs. Zhang Jiao explains the danger of going to that cave and what they should expect.

Beasts typically live in the south forest. These dangerous beasts will pounce Mortals without mercy. No one will recover the bodies of their victims. Their beast cores in their body are highly priced. That is why hunters will test their luck and hunt these beasts for living. Cultivators will not have trouble against such beasts unless they are below Gold Core Realm.

There is other danger when traveling to that destination. The disciples of the Evil Sect occasionally roams the land. And they won't hesitate to kidnap mortals for their ritual. The name of the Sect is Blood Flame Sect. Most of the Cultivators there are mostly Gold Core Realm. 7 of them are Soul Wandering Realm, and the Elders are above Nascent Realm. It is wise not to get attention from the Elders of the Sect.

"So we're gonna sneak? Sounds good. I had enough getting attention from these delusional people." said Jessica nonchalantly. If anything, Zhang Jiao thinks Jessica is the one who is delusional. "The unknown is too much for those who force to take it." he said in his mind.

"Hey! This land is off-limits! Turn back and walk away!" shouted by a black robed man in front. It is one of the disciples from Blood Flame Sect. Jessica nods then does what the black robed man wants. But Zhang Jiao leaped forward and threw small flames which are hurled towards the black robed man. This knocked them out. Jessica is shocked.

"Wait, why did you do it? And how did you use Fireball?" she asked while scratching the back of her head. "This is Flame Talisman. It contains spiritual qi and the enchantment from Talisman Makers. And that black robed man won't let us leave alive. Take a look at his wrist. It is a poisoned blade that will incapacitate you." explained by Zhang Jiao.

Jessica wants to have the Talismans. "Can I buy them from you?" she politely asked. Zhang Jiao shakes his head and said, "I doubt I have any use of your money nor you have the ability to use the Talisman. You do not even have Spiritual Root to begin with." It makes sense. None of the items in this world can be used by Jessica. Only the ones provided the system.

"How does the Talisman work then?" she asked. "Talismans like these requires you to rip it and release its stored qi to the target. Other Talismans require you to stick it to any surface and remotely detonate it with your own qi. Some Talismans are embedded with curses that should be stick on the target itself for it to work." Zhang Jiao explained clearly. Jessica gets the idea. The first explanation has the same principle as her Runes. Liang Ri tried to use it back in the Mystical Tombstone, but cannot use it other than Jessica.

"We should move quickly before they notice." said Zhang Jiao. "Alright, lead the way Jiao." said Jessica. It is still an uncomfortable feeling for Zhang Jiao to be called with his given name by a random stranger he met in one day.
