Chapter 10: Fear

Thelonius POV

I was facing the 3 little pigs, from what I could see so far because of the interrogation (with what makes the brick house being what says everything) they drank more than they could handle in a bar, then made a small mess, I got testimony from others in the bar that it was said and confirmed to be true.

"The law is clear about such transgressions in Duloc, you will have to pay remuneration to the Bar Owner you made a mess of, plus you two will pay a certain 5-month community service for resisting the Police" I said seriously while pointing to the little pigs who made houses out of wood and straw.

"W-What?! 5 months of service? B-b-b-but it was just a few bottles and a table that got destroyed! That's unfair!" Said the little pig who built a wooden house, and he clearly didn't like it.

"Exactly! Also, pay remuneration? We don't have money! We spent everything" Said the little pig responsible for making a straw house, with a face that clearly showed anger.

"I don't care what you think, if you don't pay the remuneration you will be imprisoned for 6 months, in addition to being forced after your release to do community service" I say it extremely seriously, no one would escape the hammer of justice, whatever it takes.

"....I'll pay their part of the remuneration sir, I guarantee that they will do the Community Service, by hook or by crook" Said the little pig who built a brick house, him looking seriously at the other brothers, making them stay quiet and look down.

Joseph POV

I was with Queen Grimhilde walking through the halls of the castle, with our respective guards following behind us, I was totally happy, knowing that there were no documents in this Fairy Tale world, I could easily create advantageous agreements for myself that they would have certain little hidden things.

We walked for a while until we reached the entrance to her royal chambers, why on god's green earth would I walk with her here? Nothing much, just accompanying her like a true gentleman who ''cares'' about her safety.

"This is where we say goodbye, Lord von Farquaad, may you have a good rest" Said Queen Grimhilde calmly as she looked at me with a smile.

"The same for you, Mi'lady, may you have great dreams and a good rest" I say, bowing to her, gently taking her hand and kissing the back of her hand.

I could see the Evil Queen with a smile on her face, with the pink tint of her cheeks turning a little pinker than normal, but still maintaining her professionalism.

With that we finally separated, with her entering her royal chambers while I went to my guest room, where I could rest before the day arrived to finally leave here, staying any longer near this woman could be the end of me or worse.

Grimhilde POV

I changed my clothes to a more comfortable one before going to my bed, laying down on it while letting out a tired sigh, having dealt with all those noble fools at the Ball was stressful, but on the other hand, I got to know more about HIM.

Joseph-Maximus von Farquaad was an extremely handsome man who would make several ladies fall in love, with a political mannerism that knew how to speak with the oldest and most respected nobles, even knowing how to stand before other Kings and Queens of smaller kingdoms.

Even though he was a simple Lord of an Independent Lordship, he was developing his lands without stopping, from what he knew he should also be a Half-Dwarf, but I believe that this was said just to undermine his image... or he drank a potion to get bigger.

But leaving that aside, I had a smile on my face while lying in bed, I managed to spend more time with him when doing business, even though he showed a serious and professional person inside, I saw happiness in his eyes for a moment, clearly He was happy to be with me.

After all, who wouldn't love to be with the fairest one of all?

"Lord Farquaad....you are a diamond in the rough, that only a queen like me could cut beautifully without damaging the product" I say to myself, laughing as I imagine how I would have such a Lord for myself.

3rd POV

While the Evil Queen was having her delusions, our protagonist could be seen lying in his bed, looking extremely tired, as he prepared to get some much-deserved rest.

When he closed his eyes, he saw himself in the land of Dreams, he could see himself in a totally transformed Duloc, a beautiful city with Germanic architecture, while he was in his palace, looking from the balcony at an Army wearing Prussian uniform with the Austrian Eagle in the pickelhaube they marched in an orderly manner.

However, it only took a blink of an eye for everything to change, the beautiful city of Duloc that he had seen was in ruins, he could hear people's screams while he saw his soldiers pointing upwards, shooting with muskets and cannons, before being burned alive.

"What disgrace is this....." Joseph asks in horror as he looks at it, it would be then that he heard a roar that makes his body shake with fear, He slowly raises his head upwards, with him seeing something giant flying through the skies before 2 reptilian eyes look at him.

Before he could do anything, he felt his body burning, he was in damn pain as he saw fire coming nonstop towards him, with Joseph being able to do nothing but scream in pain and fear.

With that, the nightmare ends, with Joseph waking up and getting out of bed quickly, with him in a cold sweat, the nightmare he had was very realistic, with him feeling everything... he didn't like it.

'A foreshadowing perhaps? Saying that all the work I will do will be in vain?!' Joseph thinks as he took a deep breath, trying to calm down.

''No, it was just a nightmare...but it reminds me of the problem I'm going to have...that damn dragon has to be taken care of as soon as possible'' Joseph says quietly to himself, he then dries off the sweat and He looks out the window, with him seeing that it was already dawn.

"It's almost time to leave....." Joseph says to himself, he then takes his uniform and puts it on, with him placing his sword on his waist.

When Joseph opens the door, he sees the 2 guards standing there like a statue, even with clear sleep in their eyes, they were in position and always attentive, showing the discipline that is being imposed on the future Dulocian Army.

"Gentlemen, we will soon leave, when we arrive in Duloc you will have a few days rest as a day off for your services" Joseph said as he patted the shoulders of each of the guards, who gave Joseph a military salute.

"I'm most thankful, Your Excellency, Lord von Farquaad!" The two said in unison while still performing a military salute.

"Let's go" Joseph said as he walked down the halls, with the two guards walking right behind him.

However, as he turned down a certain hallway, he came across none other than Queen Grimhilde, who had a smile on her face as she looked at him.

"Lord von Farquaad" Grimhilde said while showing a smile, which immediately made Joseph start to have a chill down his spine.

'Scheiße' Joseph thought as his back sweated in fear.
