I’m straight I tell you! STRAIGHT!

Updates Mon/Fri, unless i’m fairly busy. In that case, I will only upload on either Mon or Fri. Jacob Trennings was your ordinary guy who was fairly content with his life. He had a loving wife, a happy family, and enough money to not have to truly worry when it came to possible future kids...or at least he thought he did. Hit with the largest betrayal of his life, Jacob wakes up in a body not of his own whose past is confusing at best, with memories that make absolutely no sense. The life of the new Evan Renelli is bound to be a whirlwind of events. His new family is suspicious at times and suddenly, he has to deal with not just an entirely new world that is so far removed from the one he lived in before, with similarities that seem realistic but really aren’t, but also magic, new races, and ...a mysterious man?!? Evan (Jacob): Hey wait a second!! I’m straight, stop chasing me!! ???: Hm?~ Yet you get so flustered around me, are you sure that you’re just “straight”. Evan: ...i’ll show you.. -credit towards the artist for the picture used-

Chapter 9: Oh God, that’s a body..

Throughout most of his time in the forest, Evan would constantly get distracted. Questions would fly through his mind, such as if the fungi is glowing, does that make it safe to eat? Will he get special powers from eating them? What do they even taste like?

These types of questions kept Evan busy as he traversed through the beautiful forest. It didn't take long for Evan to arrive near a large pond that connected to a waterfall. It was such a pretty sight, something one would see out of a fantasy book. Honestly, it reminded Evan of that awful movie, Avatar.

While taking in the sight, Evan finally spotted a bunch of tiny golden nuts, right by the pond. All he had to do was grab them and get back home, as his curiosity about what his father had to tell him grew.

Now, if only Evan had really paid attention to his surroundings, he could have avoided the largest red flag in his new life so far.

While he was walking closer to the golden nuts, he tripped over a log of sorts and fell right onto this face. "AgHh." Evan groaned, feeling the telltale signs of a nosebleed waiting to happen. He lifted himself onto his knees, before clutching his nose. "@^#}]* That hurts!" He decided to stand back up, with a plan to kick whatever log he tripped over and turned around.

"Holy..oh my god that's a body! Oh my GOD it's a dead body?!?" Evan began to freak out, not noticing the subtle chest movements the "dead" body was producing. Evan began to pace wondering what he should do. Does he tell his parents? Does he just ignore the body? With his mind stuck on what to do, Evan inched closed to the body.

He wasn't expecting someone that handsome, that's for sure. Now, Evan isn't gay, but he can appreciate beauty when he sees it. The body had long hair as black as the night, which shimmered as the light hit it. The length of the body was around 6'2" and had clear muscle, well, everywhere. The body/person was wearing a long black cloak that donned the mark of a skull. At this point, it should have clicked that the person was a necromancer of sorts and those types of demons tend to be almost indestructible, but poor Evan was too busy worrying over the fact that he had witnessed death for the second time in the span of maybe 2 days. He wanted to curse whatever god was messing with him currently.

With Evan being so lost in thought, he never noticed the person's eyes opening right up to reveal a beautiful set of heterochromia. One eye was as red as a ruby, while the other was as white as Evan's own hair. If Evan had looked back over, he would've been floored by how handsome the person really was. They had high cheekbones, a stunning jawline, and monolid eyes that seemed to stare into one's soul.

As the person slowly got up, he noticed the white haired fox kin, whose ears and tail had once again popped out due to fear. At first, he had believed the boy had to been sent to assassinate him, but the more he watched him, the more he realized that the cute little puppy had accidentally stumbled upon him. He chuckled deeply, which brought Evan out of his panic. Slowly, he turned towards the body he thought was dead and just..stared.

"I..are you okay? I mean, ok you're not dead so you should be fine but uh, god this is awkward." Evan became flustered, unsure of how to deal with this situation. His instincts screamed danger but also mellowed out at the same time, completely confusing him.

"Don't worry puppy~ I'm much better now that you're here." He winked and the smallest of smirks appeared on his face. Evan spluttered, wondering what the hell was going. Why did he wink at him?? Why was he called puppy? Is this..the legendary romance cliché of meeting in a forest, saving the male lead, and falling in love?!? Evan shook his head, ridding himself of such thoughts.

"Ok, first of all, not a puppy. Second, i'm straight so please take your flirting elsewhere. Third..could you pass those golden nuts please?" He asked, wanting to run far away from whoever this man was.

The man slowly stood up, grabbed the golden nuts and walked back to Evan. He gently put them into the palm of his hand, before grasping the hand. Evan, taken by surprise, just stares into the man's eyes, wondering what could happen next. The man cusped his face before slowly leaning into his ears, "Straight hm? Well, believe what you will, puppy. We'll meet again~". He whispers before gently biting his ear. The man then teleports away.

Evan falls down to his knees, his face as red as a tomato. "I..holy hell, what was that?!? Oh my god the guy's an absolute creep. How could the first person, aside from my family, I meet be a pervert?!? God, if you're up there, though i'm not religious, please go easier on me. I'm not the main character of a romance novel AT ALL. I have no desire to be a part of any weird clichés." He mutters, wanting to pretend as though the last 20 minutes NEVER happened.

"If I ever see that punk again, i'll hit him where the sun doesn't shine. See how he likes this "puppy".' Evan grumbles, promising pain and destruction. He begins his journey back home.

On Masain, a man could feel a cold chill go down his back. He smirks, having a pretty good feeling of who exactly was cursing him.

The man Evan had the lovely opportunity to meet was known as the Ice General, a top tier necromancer and god of destruction to many. His name's Jun, no last name for he was abandoned as a child and grew up by himself. With his necromancy, ice magic, and leadership abilities, Jun can be considered one of the most beloved demons on the continent of Masain. Jun plans to become the ruler of the entire continent, but he first has to usurp the council.

The two would not meet for a while, but their meeting has thrown new destinies into motion.

This chapter would’ve been posted earlier, but I had to go through my closet and sort everything which was not fun. But lookie, the ML has appeared and will now disappear for a fair amount of time.
