Toothless is cute

(3rd pov)

Hiccup was looking at Toothless and back at his notebook, drawing Toothless' body shape into the page. "But why don't you fly away?" He questioned, and looked over Toothless again. When he noticed the missing fin on Toohless' tail he erased that part of the drawing.

Anaeth was right over Hiccup, staying invisible to not startle Hiccup and Toothless. She wanted to play Hide and Seek with Toothless as well, as she always does with others. She climbed back up the stone wall and took a more advantageous position to look over Toothless' suffering, feeling bad about it, she did a small growl and revealed her eyes, so that Toothless would hear and see a small part of her.

Toothless looked at where he heard a dragon growl he had not heard in many years and saw a pair of eyes, light green and blue, he stopped climbing and looked at the beautiful eyes watching him. They blinked and vanished. Toothless was startled, he wanted to hear and see the dragon again, to see a dragon that he had not seen for a long time.

But she was nowhere to be seen.

Toothless looked around, not seeing those eyes again. He lowered his head and did a sad whine, but when he heard something drop he snapped his head towards the sound and noticed Hiccup, looking at him and his hand reaching out. Toothless growled a bit angrily, turned away, and burned an area for him to sleep on. Hiccup meanwhile was looking at Toothless, thinking about how to help Toothless fly again.

He drew the tail fin again but with a less natural shape, sharper, and a few more edges. He stood up after drawing plans and went back home to start building the first prototype of the left tail fin.

The morning sun's orange light shone over Berk as the sheep began waking up. After them came the Vikings, who woke up with loud thuds as they walk around their houses, making the others wake up as well. Hiccup was already awake and working on the tail fin, calculating and imagining how it should work while Toothless was flying.

As he was about to turn around and go back to his bed to get a small nap, he bumped into something that was towering over him, his first thought was Stoick so he quickly apologized: "Agh! Sorry, dad, I woke up earlier, and I–" but it was not his dad that was towering above him. It was Anaeth, who wanted to help Hiccup in making a tail fin for Toothless. She leaned over to the papers that had the drawings of the calculations and blueprints of the tail fin.

"Aaah! No, no need to mess up these, they are important!" Hiccup reacted in instinct to protect his secret, but he remembered that he was talking to a dragon right now. He looked up and saw the familiar color of the trickster dragon that had gone inactive for almost eleven years. "Ah, are you here to help me?" Hiccup asked, and Anaeth nodded. Hiccup smiled, as he knew that now it will be easier to build the prosthetic for Toothless.

Anaeth began helping Hiccup in making the shape of the fin right and having it stay still when flying, as it liked to flop around when the wind was blowing around it.

(Anaeth pov)

I liked how Toothless was a grumpy boy when Hiccup was observing him at first, and it was cute when he looked around when he spotted me, as it seemed like he wanted to see me again. I liked that reaction, as that means I can play with him more as he would look around for me.

Currently, Hiccup was looking over the shape and size of the tail fin to see if it would fit and stay still when he fastened over Toothless' tail, it looked like the original but with a few more adjustments that I pointed out with my claws and snout pointing.

I wonder what Toothless is doing around that lake right now?
