HIS ONLY OBSESSION

For love that was never to grow but was kept cherished ~ "Where's she?" Rex asked barging into the throne room, his eyes were quick to fall on his brother who sat on the throne chair comfortably. "Who?" His brother deadpanned making Rex become more furious "You know who I'm talking about, Rhys, where the fuck is Alya?" Rex asked again "Taking to where she belong" Rhyss said not bothering about his brother's reaction "You wouldn't dare to touch her, Rhys" Rex warned, the threat heavy in his voice, he could feel his control slipping with every seconds that passed by with his brother who decide to keep quiet. Two more seconds passed and Rhys said "Father and mother won't ever approved of the stupid love, you know that yourself" "She is an enemy and thankfully an easy one to break" Rhys paused for some seconds before adding "it will be a quick kill for her and you won't feel the loneliness, why don't I bring her?" He said getting up from the chair and moved to the door to only be stopped by Rex who glared hard at him "Touch a single hair on her body and I'll see to it that you become a meal to the wolves in the forest" Rex threatened, his hazel eyes changing to the dark color of red. ......

Chapter twenty: Uninvited visitors

On reaching home, Rex parked his black Bentley in the garage and he got down from the car after Alya.

He walked to her and held her hand "You okay now?" he asked interlinking their fingers and she smiled "I am" she replied.

Rex nodded and turned, his face creased into a frown as he caught a whiff of a familiar scent, the intimidating aura in the air only made his frown deepened as he could already sense the presence of the uninvited guests.

He walked to the steps of his house and opened the door. A glance in the large room and his hazel eyes were quick to narrow at the people present in the living room, they were a total of six, four males and two females.

"Oh hey there, Rex" Called an elder, Alya turned to look at Rex who had an irritated look on his face on seeing the visitors which made her wonder who they were and she asked "Who are they?", Rex passed a single glance at her and looked back at the visitors "Unwanted pests" he replied, the strong tone of distaste evident in his voice.

Alya turned back to the people who had a disapproving look on their faces for the name he called them, only one happened to remained unfazed, he had slivery grey hair and eyes which appeared dull as he stared back at her.

They were all dressed in long black coat and hat, handsome in their own way also and a last thing, the air around them that demanded respect, she noted.

Her eyes fell on a female who was glaring at her and she pursed to think if she had ever met the fine lady before and annoyed her.

The woman had maroon hair and dark eyes, shifting her gaze from Alya to Rex. She lit up a bright smile

"I've been waiting for you Rex" she said trying to tell her reason for visiting was different. Rex stared at her lazily for a second before turning to Alya "Will you be okay on your own?" he asked her and she looked up at him

"I will be, you don't have to be worry" she replied

"Let me see you to the room then" he said taking a step forward but Alya held him back

"I'll be fine" She flashed him a smile and walked away excusing herself from the room.

Rex watched her till she got into the room, hearing the door lock, he tilted his head to his left subtly to look at the grey haired man who was still looking up the staircase. He turned to Rex who had a little frown on his forehead and he grinned, showing off one of his canines that was longer than all of his teeth, "A nice meal" he said and Rex scowled at him.

"What do you want?" he asked, his voice ringing out, not bothering to hide the fact that he didn't welcome them in his home.

"We brought you an offer after hearing about Sivan's death, our sincere condolences" the eldest who had a stick twirling his mouth said but it was clear he meant none of the sympathy.

"And who told you I'm ready to accept any of your selfish offers?" He asked, his gaze hard on every one of them.

When the man opened his mouth to speak, another raised his hands to stop him "Let me take it from here Lazarus" he said and the man named Lazarus nodded.

"We all know Sivan is very important to you maybe even more than the girl right?" The second man, Vlad asked looking at Rex who didn't bother to answer him and he continued.

"I know the only thing you want to do is to avenge his death, we'll help you with that, bringing you the murderer and in return you.." "Not interested" Rex interrupted him leaving some people in the room surprised.

"What?" Vlad asked "What?" Rex questioned back nonchalantly.

Sighing out in frustration, he rubbed his forehead "I am not concerned with Sivan's killer nor with any stupid offer of yours" he said "If you will excuse me" he turned towards the staircase to only be stopped by the maroon haired lady.

"Wait Rex" She called and he turned to look at her "Oh Helen, I never noticed you" Rex said with a smile outrightly denying he heard her speak before.

The smile on her face faltered for some seconds before it brightened up again "I was actually wondering if you would like to go out for dinner with me?" She asked unashamedly. "Mmm.. No" Rex refused and her smile fell completely "I had the sweetest dinner already" "Well, how about some other time?" she asked again and the rest could only shake their head at her coyness

"You don't think I'm as jobless as you all are to be going out for dinner, do you?" Rex looked down at her as he questioned.

Not receiving a reply, he turned back and walked up the stairs "If you are still jobless, you can go check on Clark, I need to sleep" he said dismissing them.

Helen's brows furrowed as she stared at his proud back "I told you the girl is a bad influence, he says he needs sleep, tsk" She fumed over being rejected.

"Do you want to get rid of her?" The second female, Leona asked straightforwardly

"I'm sure you will only look more ugly if your heads were to be off your body" Sebastian, the slivery grey haired tried to warn of what Rex will do if she tried it, he propped himself from leaning on the staircase and he walked away from them.

"Do you like her? I saw the way you were staring at her, I can get her for you while you give me Rex" Helen tried to strike a deal between the both of them.

"Rex is completely smitten by the girl, leave her alone Helen" Sebastian said finally walking out of the door cursing at her stupidity, he never cared about the rest just the crucial informations he needed was what kept him close to the foolish ones.

Rex opened the door of Alya's room to find her sleeping, he got inside and took the book she was reading away from her face and he covered her with the bed sheets. She must have been really tired to have fallen asleep so fast, he thought then remembered what she said in the car earlier.

"Hearing familiar voices" he whispered moving her hair from her face, he knew she was recovering her lost memories though slowly. Leaning over her face, he dropped a peck on her lips "No matter how long it takes, I'll wait momma" he muttered on her lips.

Suddenly, he felt a severe ache in his chest and his eyes narrowed and he tried to make his way out as he began to cough hoarsely, his hands gripped her reading desk with as much pressure enough to break it as he paused to breath viewing nothing but pitch blackness.

Getting out of her room, he leaned on the staircase to cough dryly, his throat felt itchy and his jaw ache as he cough continuously. Walking slowly, he made his way downstairs to find it empty as the visitors had left and he walked to the bar counter while clutching on his shirt on his chest area.

Picking the wine from the top shelf, he uncorked it and brought it to his mouth, not bothering to pick a glass cup and he drank in large gulps.

Satisfying his taste a little, he slowed down his intake and walked away from the counter to stand in front of the glass wall viewing the world outside.

Hearing the front door open and footsteps making its way to where he stood, he didn't bother to turn back "How hungry were you?" he had the person ask who finally stood beside him. Landon had a glass cup in his hand and Rex poured in a cup of full of the red wine.

Looking at the bottle in his hands, he twirled it and licked his lips "Alya has come to know my favorite of them all" he said remembering when Alya told it was just his usual red wine he took.

"You think it would be hard for her to notice?" Landon asked "I never said so" Rex replied, he moved his gaze back outside. "What did they came for?" Landon shifted the conversation to the 'unwanted pest' that had made their presence known in the house.

He took a sip of his drink and turned to Rex "Volunteered in looking for Sivan's murderer" Landon nodded without bothering to ask anything knowing his friend didn't bother to listen to what they wanted in return.

"You think it's because of Neirosa?" Rex asked, "I doubt she left anything, the house was rented, she won't want to leave harm to the owner of the house" Landon replied, running his finger on the rim of the cup before bringing it to his lips.

"I sent Raziel to check" Rex said and immediately, he heard a ruffling behind him and he turned with Landon to find Raziel who quickly bowed at the two of them.
