chapter six:Young business tycoon
April had her eyes wide open staring at the proud handsome as he walk in.
He was dressed business casual with black suit and trousers and matching shiny oxford shoes with a man behind him and another at his front.
Silence enveloped the entire hall as everyone focused on the young idol who walked in with his every steps showcasing much wealth.
" You know him? " Alya asked cutting through her thought
April turned to her and nodded numbly.
" Well, yeah he is a popular business tycoon "
" Landon's friend " She added
Alya's blue eyes searched through his face.
" He is the young man who took me to the hospital " She said
" Yeah "
Rex's proud strides halted at their front.
" Good morning Mr. Rex " Cassie greeted excitedly while Rex nodded.
" I see your friend has gotten really better " He said looking at Alya.
" Yeah, she has " April said.
" I didn't get to thank you Mr. Rex " Alya said
" It's nothing " Rex smiled.
He looked at April and smirked then made have his way into the elevator.
" April " Landon called from the door and she turned.
" Good morning " April greeted
" Morning love "
" Good morning lan "
" Morning pretty "
" How are you doing? "
" Very good " Alya replied and he nodded
" I need to see Rex, I am coming " Landon said and left immediately
" I never knew Landon is friends with the C. E. O of the ROYAL BLAZONZ " Alya said
" Sorry? " April turned to her with furrowed brows
" Yeah,Cassie told me he is the owner of ROYAL BLAZONZ "
" Oh okay " April breathed out
They both walked to Alya's desk and sat down.
" Hey Mr. Fiance " Landon called when he got into Rex's office.
Rex who had a bored expression on his face lazily smiled at him. Landon sat down on a chair opposite Rex.
" What was all that? " Landon asked and Rex grinned.
" You asked me to be friends with her, didn't you? " He asked
" I said friends not her boss " Landon said
" The Alya I know won't just make friends with a random stranger just because he saved her "
" This is the only way of getting close to her "
Landon looked at his friend amusingly
" But I thought you said you are going to Seattle for a meeting? " Landon asked
He clearly don't understand his friend anymore.
He had called max to inform Rex to call him after the meeting only to be told the meeting was postponed.
On asking, he was told he came here
Rex smiled more at Landon's question and chuckled softly.
" I postponed the meeting "
Landon was left amused again
" You cancelled your flight? " He asked
" Yeah " Rex replied nonchalantly
Aah! His friend was becoming something else. Landon thought
Rex who cares so much about a little money wasted was the one canceling a flight worth hundred thousands.
But Rex was happy and Landon felt extremely happy for Rex. This was the first time he saw him with much happiness since the last six months.
" How much did you get the place? "
Landon asked
" Three hundred thousand "
Landon almost choked on his saliva
He looked around the office and tried to remember how the whole building looked.
" It was so unfair " Landon protested
" He said it was a million "
" I had the thought that he was so desperate in need of money to called such a low price "
" But I never knew how desperate he was till I ask to buy it for seven hundred and he dropped it to three hundred thousand "
Rex chuckled at Landon's expression
He picked the files on the desk,flipped it and dropped
" It's just too boring in here " Rex complained
He picked up another file
" Those are stacked works for you " Landon smirked
" There are works only if I know how it's done "
" I literally know nothing about news business " Rex clarified earning him another ' you must be kidding look '
Here, they all thought only Alya had an ailment with the brain and had failed to diagnose Rex also.
" Who on earth go into a business they don't know anything about "
Rex was truly crazily in love
" I would be leaving now, let's go "
Rex cut through his thoughts not giving him a chance to say his mind.
He got up with Rex and made for the door when he was giving one last shock.
" I am left with thirty minutes only for the meeting " Rex said and Landon turned sharply
" I thought you postponed it? "
" Yeah, I did to late afternoon and this is 3:16 now " he replied looking at his watch.
Sweet heavens! Landon exclaimed
He had an instant headache
Aah! His friend had gone crazy. He concluded as they made their way out of the office.
Alya started working with her writing immediately. She had asked to be given reports yet completed and they had her desk filled with files.
April and Cassie helped with printing and piling up the reports for Rex's review
The buzzing of a phone cut through the keyboard clicks echoing.
" I left with Rex already " Landon said when April came on the line
" Okay "
" When you are ready to go home,give me a call " Landon said
" Sure, bye "
" Yeah "
