After sitting on the captain's chair Shiro looked around the bridge and took in the amazing view. He looked through the windows and saw the dark space with all it's glittering stars. Then he looked inside the bridge and all those empty chairs. 'I'm sure this place used to be quite lively. People bustling around doing their job. But now it just feels empty.' Shiro thought to himself while looking around the bridge and became a little sad. 'Well Nevermind. There is no point in becoming sad anymore. I can no longer be the weak parson I was before, neither can I bring back those who I have lost. There is no one present who can protect me from harms way, for now I can only rely on myself. I will just have to make sure that we do not make the same mistakes of trusting people like that again. We have to do things differently this time.' Shiro made the resolution of not being weak anymore within himself and to do things in a way he would not regret. After he was done with his thinking. Shiro looked at Minerva. "Since we are done with the preparation lets get started shall we?"
"Affirmative. We will start with disrupting communications with the objects nearest to the sun and gradually expand outwards and lastly we will target Mars. This will make it more believable." If they were to make make Earth and it's people to believe it was a solar flare or something that is related to the Sun they had to make it so it looked like it originated from the Sun as such the data recorded at the time must say the same. For that reason everything must start near the Sun.
"But we don't have any real time communication with the AIs deployed. Will the timing be perfect and what is the chance of failure." As Minerva was unable yo give command to the AIs in real time Shiro expected there to be some loopholes in communication.
"Yes we do not have any real time communication there is a delay in communication with the AIs deployed. But there is a very small chance of something wrong happening due to a delay of communication, And even if any component fail it's very unlikely but it will not affect our plan in the long run." Minerva assured Shiro.
"I see. I guess I was worried for nothing." Shiro felt relieved after listening to Minerva. Then he urged Minerva to start. "Then Minerva please begin."
"Understood, beginning the operation "Blackout"." As soon as Minerva said it a large holographic display showing the map of the solar system, marking the different crafts and satellites around the solar system appeared before everyone.
"Blackout huh well since it's communication blackout with Mars I guess it is a fitting name." Shiro agreed with the name of the mission as it represented what they were doing quite accurately. "So the green means the communication is up right?" Shiro looked at the map that marked different crafts in green and asked Minerva.
"Affirmative. As we disconnect them from Earth's communication channel they will become red. The operation will begin in ten seconds. Beginning the countdown." As soon as Minerva said this a countdown display appeared in front of everyone.
"Ten , nine , eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one, Start. Now we wait." As soon as Minerva said this she became silent.
Everyone in the bridge was looking at the display without making any sound including Shiro. After a few Minutes one by one green marks from the map were becoming red and it was approaching Mars.
"Beginning the Mars phase of the operation. Detonating the grenades around the satellites orbiting Mars." As soon as Minerva said this displays showing Mars appeared in front of Shiro. Suddenly Bright flashes appeared on the display. "Detonation successful Moving on to the rovers. Detonating grenades." This time small flashes appeared on the Mars surface areas. "Detonation successful." "Checking if the satellites and the rovers are completely down." After detonating the grenades Minerva started to check if the satellites and the rovers are really down or they were still somehow functioning as equipment created for space exploration has very good shield capacity.
"Checking complete. All of the orbiting satellites and Martian rovers are inactive and safe to approach. Operation "Blackout" Successful."
