Marimo Part - 01

"Checking complete. All of the orbiting satellites and Martian rovers are inactive and safe to approach. Operation "Blackout" Successful." After checking for all possible signs of activity from any of the crafts Minerva declared the operation as successful.

"Phew." Shiro breathed out a large sigh of relief. "Finally we are done with the first phase. Minerva can you please bring in the orbiter in question and isolate it." As they have succeeded in isolating Mars from Earth for now at least Shiro wanted to move to the main focus of this Mission the anomaly.

"I have already sent a drone to retrieve the orbiter it should be inside the ship within half an hour." Minerva informed Shiro that she had already started the process of collecting the orbiter as soon as she confirmed the success of the mission.

"That's great. But please try to isolate it as soon as you can we don't want that thing to act up before we isolate it." Shiro urged Minerva to hurry up as they did not know what hidden feature that device inside the orbiter had. So it would be better for them to hurry up.

"And please disassemble the orbiter and keep that device away from it, we do not know what it's capable of doing and what it's programmed to do in case of an emergency." As there was no guarantee if the device was capable of restarting the orbiter Shiro decided to remain as cautious as possible.

"Understood. As soon as the orbiter is captured we will move it to a sealed compartment." Minerva proceeded to do as Shiro asked.

As soon as Minerva finished speaking a display appeared in front showing the drone that was deployed to bring the orbiter in. It was a round shaped craft with a large thruster behind it and two large retractable multi purpose armed attached to both of it's sides. Within a few minutes it reached the orbiter grabbed it and turned around to return to the ship.

"The drone has returned with the orbiter." As soon as the drone reached the ship Minerva announced it's arrival. "Proceeding to isolate the orbiter." As soon as the orbiter was inside the ship it was brought into a room which had nothing in it only simple steel walls and nothing. Al of these were visible to Shiro and the girls through cameras, built throughout the ship and in the sealed room.

"Starting the disassembly process of the orbiter." As soon as Minerva said it different panels from the walls moved away and revealed many mechanical arms and tools. Those arms and tools started to take apart the orbiter part by part. After taking a part off of the orbiter an arm would take it inside the wall and disappear. Slowly the innards of the orbiter became visible. Soon everything aside from a transparent square box disappeared into the wall.

"Disassembly complete." And Minerva announced the end of the process.

"So this is the device in question huh." Shiro looked at the box in question with keen interest.

"I get the feeling that this is indeed the device which harbors the foreign codes." Arturia agreed as she looked at the device.

"Yes. Even though we did not see it with our own eyes when hacking the orbiter. It is indeed giving of the same vibe as that time." Rin felt it was the device even though inside the stream of data there was no image she was sure of it.

"What vibe? You are talking as if this thing is alive or something." Shiro laughed at how Rin described the device.

"Hmph. Who said it was alive. We are artificial intelligence so we could differentiate machines in different ways that is normally impossible. I just expressed it that way for you to understand it." Rin pouted after listening to Shiro and turned her head away.

"Ok ok. I get it it's my fault for not realizing it. Now can we focus on the issue at hand?" Shiro quickly gave up and consoled Rin and urged her to focus on the issue at hand.

"As long as you get it." Rin gave a smug smile and did not pursue the matter further. "But yeah this is the thing that we detected I'm almost hundred percent certain of it." Rin again confirmed that this is the device she and Arturia detected while infiltrating the orbiter.

"I see. So our decision to isolate it seems to be the correct one." Shiro looked at the device which was unlike any of the equipment taken apart from the orbiter. Heck it did not resemble any device made by humans of that time. "And this thing why the hell is this thing pulsating and glowing constantly." The device in question was glowing and the light was pulsating in rhythmic pattern. "And this light it's even such an eerie green color." And the light it was emitting was an eerie shade of green.
