Kewang Tian 3 – Spirit World: Awakening Part 1

Cough! Cough!

[Ahh, my head. It hurts so much]. Kewang Tian held his head in his hands. Slowly opening his eyes.

[Where, where am I?] he looked around.

He was in awe, it was the most beautiful sight he had ever seen, the sky was lilac, with wisps of green clouds everywhere. In the sky there were three suns, beating down on the earth.

Kewang Tian sat up to see he was slowly flowing down a gentle blue river, that stretched for mile upon mile with no end in sight.

If someone were to see this they would be alarmed, yet here, he somehow felt… at peace.

"Is anyone there!" Kewang Tian yelled, at the top of his lungs. "Hello!" he shouted again.

Kewang Tian scratched his head… [Where am I? Why are there three suns in the sky?]

He was confused, he felt as if he weren't supposed to be here. There was something important, something that he would be willing to risk his life for… but what was it, he did not know.

As he was pondering he suddenly saw a figure in the water. [What is that. It has wings, and a curled tail, but has long blue hair that covers all its back. Oh damn, it's coming right at me!] he was suddenly alarmed, as the creature that had been fighting against the current suddenly swam at him with incredible speed.

He started to nervous, "What are you creature?!" he spurted out. [Heavens what am I saying, how do I even know if it understands me?] he started to get even more twitchy, as the seemingly small creature was gradually increasing in size as it got closer.

Kewang Tian suddenly thought, [I can just leave the river, can't I?] he started to relentlessly paddle towards the river bank, which was over 7 meters away. Kicking as hard as he could, his heart was beating so fast it felt like it was going to pop out of his chest.

Reaching out to the bank with the tips of his fingers he suddenly felt something grab at his ankle, "HELP!" he let out as he managed to claw at the river bank, digging his hands into the mud.

While trying to pull his way up on the bank, his other leg was swinging about behind him, trying to get whatever had latched onto him.

Struggling to get up he felt tremors on the bank.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

[They sound like the footsteps of a…] his thoughts and face froze.

When he picked up his head, he turned to look. It was… some sort of hideous being. A patchwork monster, that was made out of many different creatures. The body of a dog, the head of a bear, and the tail of some reptilian creature.

Seeing the creature that was more horrifying than any nightmare he had suffered, he couldn't help but scream.

It then let out a low rumbling noise, that sounded like the words, "Useful thing comes here, you have some pretty arms."

Listening to these words Kewang Tian couldn't understand. Where was he? What creature was this?

Suddenly something could be heard bursting out from the water. It was a feminine voice, that sounded "Away with you Ursine, go build your collection elsewhere!"

She quickly raised her hand, and waved it, causing the water in the river formed a giant horse, which then charged at the patchwork monstrosity.

Boom!

The resulting shockwave caused Kewang Tian to be flung underneath the water, where everything started to go dark.

"Wake up beast!" A woman's voice called out.

Coughing up a mouthful of water and then recognising this purple-skinned woman, he couldn't help but be in awe of her. She was huge. She must be at least 2.5 meters tall, with a muscular build.

"Thank you, ma'am. May I have the honour of knowing you?" Kewang Tian said timidly.

"Don't play coy with me beast, why is one of your kind here." She said ferociously.

"Please. Miss. I… I have no idea what you're talking about." Kewang Tian stuttered.

The purple woman gave a loud harrumph in response.

"Beast, you should be thankful. I dragged you out of Ursine's grasp and brought you here to recover. The least you could tell me is why you are here?"

"But Mi-" before he could finish speaking she pressed her fore finger gently between his brows. Making him shriek out in pain.

"Ahhh!" screaming, his body once again writhed around, suddenly it felt like someone's memories were going into his head. Casing his brain to feel as if it were on fire.

The bones in his body physically started to move. As if they were vibrating, then – CRACK!

"Ahhh!"

He screamed out again.

Kewang Tian didn't know how anyone could experience thins type of pain and survive.

His hands started to change into three-fingered claws, causing his bones to snap out of place, and fingers merge together.

Scales started to grow out of out of his skin, shredding it in the process. Blood started to profusely spew out, in a sorry state.

At this point, Kewang Tian didn't even have the strength to scream anymore.

His vision started to darken, he held the clawed hand to the woman, with tears in his eyes, fully thinking he was going to die, he whispered: "Help me…"

***

[I feel weird].

Was the first thing Kewang Tian thought to himself after. He didn't feel natural, all his limbs felt numb, and wouldn't respond properly.

Forcing himself he looked around. To his dismay, there was a giant serpent's tail on the small river island he was on.

He was afraid want to back off, so he went to turn away, but as he did the serpent's tail moved with him.

Something felt off, he couldn't describe it, then he realised, tracing the tail to its source. It was connected to a gargantuan dragon-like creature, with golden scales, with runic patterns on each of them.

His heart began to beat a little faster. He realised something. [My… my hand!]

Kewang Tian looked at his would-be hand, but there was no hand at all. Just a golden claw. At this point he felt like sweat should be coming out of his forehead, yet when he went to touch his head, it wasn't the same. He had tusks!

He quickly dragged over to the water of the river to see his reflection. His eyes opened wide, from shock and disbelief. His reflection was that of a monster. A beast. An ebony tusked golden dragon!

"So, you're finally awake then beast?" The blue haired maiden said.

In reply Kewang Tian was speechless, he couldn't comprehend what had happened. [What has this Lady done to me? Why did she do it? And what is this place?]
