Because Mia had not exactly told Amari how or when the witch hunters would be capturing them, Amari was appalled as she managed to turn her neck to the right side, and then the left side. A gasp escaped her throat as she saw that she wasn't alone in the room. But then, she hadn't been expecting to be alone. She couldn't see behind her as she was strapped in a chair but she could feel the various magical energies in the room, moreso, on both side of her chair were Nathan and his mother tied in chairs and binded by shackles like her. They all seemed to be unconscious at that moment except her.
Muttering a spell, Amari gasped when it didn't work. She was trying to do a spell to release herself from the ropes and shackles. Bringing her face closer to the shackles, she observed that it was no ordinary shackles. She had seen a picture of this in the book of Shadows. It was a magic nullifying shackles and it prevented its wearer from being able to do any magic.
