Harry Potter: The God of Magic (BEING REWRITTEN)

---THIS STORY IS CURRENTLY BEING REWRITTEN--- (Disclaimer: the first few chapters are a little rough due to me trying to find my footing with this story but after that, the story cements itself as in my opinion a pretty good one. and let's be honest, there is way worse out there lmao. Enjoy!) 'Why? Why must this go on? When will it end?' these words were the first thoughts that a "new" baby had. Alaric Reinhardt has lived through countless lifetimes, reincarnated every few centuries. the baffling thing is, he keeps reincarnating into the same bloodline. From the dawn of man to the height of the roman empire, to the discovery of the Americas, he has seen it all. It wasn't until he was reincarnated into the 11th century that he realized he was in the world of harry potter. After countless times of being reincarnated, he has finally made it to the 20th century in Britain. How will he live this life, will he stay secluded, will he venture out and make a name for himself, only time will tell, and he has plenty of it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hi guys, this is my first attempt at fanfic, if there are any grammar, spelling, or even issues with the harry potter continuity that I didn't purposely change, please tell me. With that being said this is a slight AU, there won't be any giant changes like Harry's parents being alive, no, they are very much dead. with that being said, a character or two or an event or two might be slightly changed for the betterment of the story With that being said I hope you all like my story!

------------------------------------------

"Alaric, over here!" Sofia called out while waving to her little brother enthusiastically

With a single sigh, Alaric walked down from the stage and headed toward his sister who was also seated with Daphne, and Tracey along with some of her older friends.

Once he reached where the group was sitting he took a seat across from them and silently waited for the sorting to be finished much to the annoyance of his talkative sister.

--After the Sorting Ceremony--

Shortly after the last first year was sorted and the students and professors all took their seats, Professor McGonagall clinked her glass with her spoon two times. "Attention, please." Taking that as his cue, Dumbledore rose from his seat once again and commenced the feast. "Let the feast, begin."

The second he finished his words, all of a sudden, the empty plates and trays that were on the tables were magically full of all sorts of different foods, ranging from cooked chicken, steamed corn, turkey, dinner rolls, and even an assortment of fruits, and all sorts of more foods.

"Yes! Finally, I was absolutely famished on the Hogwarts Express," Sofgai exclaimed as she started stuffing her face with all different types of food, very reminiscent of young Ronald Weasely who currently had his mouth full of chicken. In contrast, he had a piece in both hands.

"Sofia, really, you can't eat your food with a modicum of civility?" Alaric asked with an amused look on his face

"Hmm?" she poked her head up with food stuffed in her mouth and let out a muffled sound

As the students were busy filling their stomachs, a yelp could be heard from the Gryffindor table as a ghost poked his head up through the table. Soon after, the Great Hall was soon swarmed with all sorts of ghosts.

"Look, it's the Bloody Baron!" Alaric heard a kid point out as a ghost swinging a small rapier started flying over the table.

As the kids were watching the ghosts fly around with wonder and delight, Alaric could hear the groans of disgust play out from the Gryffindor table as Nearly Headless Nic showed them why he had said title.

--After the Feast--

The feast had been going on for quite some time but as the children were winding down and people's bellies were full, Dumbledore called on the prefects to lead all of the new students and old toward their common rooms and show them their sleeping arrangements.

"Slytherin House! Follow me please!" called out a bubbly girl who was a part of the upper years and was the prefect that would lead the new students to their dorms.

As the group neared the exit of the great hall, before they crossed the threshold, the girl stopped and turned around to address the first years. "Congratulations! I'm Prefect Gemma Farley, and I'm delighted to welcome you to Slytherin House!" Gemma said with an excited tone

"Now if you would follow me please," she said as she started toward the dungeons

The students dutifully followed their prefect all the way down into the dungeons and they came across the entrance, at first it seemed to just be a simple wall, that is until a giant effigy of a snake appeared and sprang to life as it rose and unveiled a doorway.

"Welcome to the Slytherin common room!" Gemma announced as they entered, she would soon instruct them on where to go and where everything was, luckily for Alaric, due to his families status as one of if not the purest and most powerful wizarding family, he was allotted his own single room, something his grandfather and sister had told him about before.

Apparently, in Slytherin, there is a council of sorts that hosts a seat for all members of prominent pureblooded wizarding families, although they call it the "Council" it was really just an over-glorified frat, not the fun kind however, they would throw ragers and get piss drunk.

Alaric quickly broke off from the group of first years and headed to the wing, yes they have their own wing, where all of the single-occupant rooms were held.

He soon found his room and opened the door and entered, he found himself in a room that was roughly three meters by three meters large, on one wall was a luxurious king-sized bed, and along another wall was a chest of drawers, and an assortment of other storage areas.

Laying across one of the dressers were an extra pair of school clothes and an extra robe along with it.

on the side of the room opposite of the drawers and dressers, was a small seating area with a rather sizable couch and two recliner chairs.

"*Whistle* this place is pretty nice, I guess being a "Pure-blood" scion truly does have its benefits sometimes, well, let's look at my schedule I guess."

After Alaric had read through his schedule, one thing he noticed was there were quite the number of classes that Slytherin shared with Gryfinndor, something that amused him to no end as there was bound to be conflict, and where there's conflict, there's a good show.

(A/N just a fair warning, I have zero clue what the class schedule would look like so I made my own, In all honesty, I read the books years ago as a little kid so I don't really remember anything from them, so most of what I'm going off of for classes and things like that are the movies that I have pulled up on my second monitor as I write this, I'll try my best to make it a good blend of both but no promises, here's to hoping I don't screw the schedule up later down the line lmao.)

--First day of classes--

"Yawn~"

"Man, this mattress does wonders for my body." Alaric thought aloud as he felt his muscles were more relaxed and rested than usual.

'Time to go exercise, hopefully, they serve some good food for breakfast Alaric thought as he rose from his bed and went toward his dresser and grabbed some workout clothes, which consisted of a simple sleeveless that was made of Alaric's homemade Dri-Fit material as it had just been released to the muggle public this year so he decided to use a simple confundus charm to gain the manufacturing details and create his own utilizing magic

Alaric briskly walked through the halls of Hogwarts as he made his way out to the lake which would act as his starting location from now on for his daily morning jog

He eventually reached his destination and after some light stretching commenced his first jog on the grounds of Hogwarts

'I wonder what I should fill my days with during my stay here in Hogwarts, it's not like anything interesting will happen until October, maybe I should seek out the room of requirements and use it as a catalyst to train this body even more so once I collect my first orb of power it shouldn't take long to get acclimated to the sudden jump in raw magic.'

'Speaking of, I wonder how the old castle is doing, I trust the branch family is taking good care of it, well, I will get to observe it with my own eyes this summer either way.' Alaric thought as he rounded the last corner and was now on course to his original starting position.

After using a couple of self-cleansing charms coupled with some water magic and wind magic, Alaric had essentially taken a shower in the span of a couple of minutes while completely clothed

Once his appearance was "perfect" he ventured off into Hogwarts toward the great hall for breakfast, there he ate a hearty meal while being pestered by his sister and he had a short but pleasant conversation with Daphne Greengrass.

--Later, Transfiguration Class--

After he had broken his fast, Alaric headed toward his first class which just so happens to be a joint transfiguration class with Gryffindor, although he held no animosity toward the children of Gryffindor house, that doesn't mean he was annoyed by them, not only were they headstrong and reckless, they were loud and abhorrent.

As Alaric went to find a seat, he heard children muttering and chatting all around him, some talking about some random subject, others talking amongst themselves about the upcoming class, and there were even a few children who were talking about him.

Despite the various different conversations playing out around him, the most distinct of them were discussing the cat that was perched up on the teacher's desk and looked to be almost observing them, Alaric, of course, was able to see through the magic and identify Professor McGonagall.

As he looked at the grey cat that had black stripes and what seemed to be a pattern that looked like spectacles around its eyes, Alaric had his draconic eyes activated and he could see the slight discomfort his gaze was causing the cat to have.

Seeing his effect on the seasoned deputy headmistress, all he did was flash a short smile in the cat's direction and sat down next to Hermione who was furiously calling him over to sit with her.

"Good morning Ms. Granger" Alaric greeted Hermione as he pulled out the chair and sat on it

"Just call me Hermione, and good morning to you Alaric, I trust you had a good night's sleep?" she asked and after getting an affirmative nod from Alaric started droning on about her excitement for class and how she can't wait for the teacher to arrive.

"Speaking of arrival, do you happen to know where Ron and Harry might be?" Alaric asked with an amused smile as he knew they were most likely sprinting to the classroom at this very second. And what do you know, the door burst open, and in came the troublesome duo, with barely a minute to spare

"We... made... it," Ron said in between gasps for air as the two had just run a marathon to arrive at class on time

as the two were trying to find a seat, the cat sitting on the desk just watched them eagle-eyed as they waltzed in between rows of tables.

"Can you imagine the look on old McGonagall's face if we were late?" Ron said to Harry

Just as young Ronald and Harry found an empty table, they were about to sit down when the cat suddenly jumped off the desk and while in mid-air, transformed into Professor McGonagall, who with a rather stern look walked toward the duo.

As she came upon the two dumbstruck children, Ron couldn't help but exclaim a few words. "That was bloody brilliant!"

"Why thank you for that assessment, Mr. Weasley, perhaps it would be more useful if I were to transfigure, Mr. Potter and yourself into a pocket watch, that way one of you might be on time," McGonagall said with half sarcasm half seriousness

After a few seconds of thinking of what to say, Harry blurted out what came to mind first. "We got lost." Ron who was standing next to him could only face-palm at the lame excuse

"Then perhaps a map?" McGonagall said as a follow-up to her previous statement

"I trust you don't need one to find your seats?" McGonagall asked as she walked away after Ron shook his head

"Now class, let us begin our lesson."
