Blood history part 1

My name is Morgiana, and I am an biologist, a term you may have not heard yet or one you may be extremely familiar with. Over the past 178 years I have been searching for the key of binding human blood with the blood of magical beasts so as to create 'mutant' individuals.

These individuals are born with traits that allow them to adapt to their environments will help them survive and have more offspring, which will then inherit those traits, eventually creating a new race of magically empowered entities. The Guna's of India have already achieved this partial fusion after they sacrificed their magical power to their 'gods' in return for this knowledge.

However, their 'hybrids' came with their own defects. Individuals with less adaptive traits will survive less frequently and may be unable to pass their gene on. Over time, the traits that allow any species to survive and reproduce will become more frequent in the population and the population will change, or evolve. This theory that I had created can help humanity to become creatures of near infinite power, yet it was rejected because of my surname.

So for the rest of my life, I have decided to carry on my mission in self inflicted confinement, hiding my research before I was named an heretic and murdered of in the name of 'justice'.
