Chapter 4: Rias Gremory

When Shinjiro was ten years old, he sat in a large, dimly lit study with Penemue, who was tasked with his education. Her stern demeanor often kept him focused, but today, his mind wandered.

"Shinjiro, are you paying attention?" exclaimed Penemue, noticing him daydreaming.

"Yes, yes," replied Shinjiro hurriedly, snapping out of his reverie.

"Who was I talking about?" Penemue asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Rias Gremory," Shinjiro answered quickly, hoping to avoid further reprimand.

"Good. Don't let your mind wander again," said Penemue with a stern look. She then resumed her lecture. "Rias Gremory is the heir to the Gremory pillar, one of the higher-ranked pillars among the remaining 72 pillars of the devil's race. She was born with the natural ability of destruction from the Bael clan, known as the 'Power of Destruction.' This is a rare and powerful gift that allows her to generate and control destructive energy capable of disintegrating matter. However, her lack of rigorous training is currently hindering her true potential. Although she is still young, she lacks the same drive and determination seen in others of her generation. Despite this, she is famously known throughout her territory for her striking crimson hair and brilliant blue eyes, which make her easily recognizable."

Penemue paused for a moment to ensure Shinjiro was still attentive before continuing. "On the other hand, her older brother, Sirzechs Lucifer, is one of the current Satans. He also possesses the Power of Destruction, but his control and mastery over this power are unparalleled. Sirzechs can manipulate his destructive power into a highly concentrated form known as 'Ruination.' His ability to wield this power with such precision and strength made him one of the most formidable figures during the Great War. His reputation is unmatched within devil society, and he is respected and feared across all factions."

Shinjiro listened intently, now fully engaged in the lesson. He knew that understanding the strengths and weaknesses of key figures like Rias and Sirzechs was crucial for his own development and future missions.

Penemue continued, "Rias, despite her current limitations, has the potential to become just as influential as her brother. Given the right guidance and motivation, she could surpass many expectations."

Shinjiro nodded, absorbing the information. He was beginning to understand the importance of the Gremory siblings in the grand scheme of devil politics and power dynamics. Penemue's insights were invaluable, and he made a mental note to pay closer attention during her lessons from now on.

Standing up, Shinjiro started walking towards Rias, his footsteps echoing in the night.

"Tall," remarked Rias as she finally saw Shinjiro's complete height in front of her.

"Shinjiro Hanma, freelancer and currently employed to investigate some rogue fallen operating within Kuoh Town. Your security is pretty lax for being tasked with overseeing this town," remarked Shinjiro, causing Rias to frown slightly.

"I'm going to be taking this one with me as well as getting rid of an issue you couldn't see nor handle. Any disagreement can be taken up with my employer."

Looking at the card Shinjiro gave her, she read it. It stated: Freelancer for Hire, Shinjiro Hanma, current long-term employer: Grigori.

"I cannot let you leave without a proper explanation," replied Rias.

"Oh? That was proper enough," Shinjiro grinned amusingly. "But are you sure you can stop me?" he said, looking down at her, his eyes glowing red and his hair suddenly flowing, becoming weightless. A slight grin spread across his face. 'Although her power of destruction would be lethal if used effectively, I don't feel the thrill I get when facing true fighters. She lacks the killer instinct and experience gained only from true fighting. This will be interesting.'

Rias's eyes narrowed, her expression shifting from surprise to determination. She took a deep breath, centering herself as the crimson aura of her power began to emanate from her body. The air around her crackled with energy, and her hair seemed to float with an unseen force.

With a graceful yet deliberate motion, she summoned her power of destruction, the crimson energy swirling around her hands. She assumed a combat stance, her gaze locked onto Shinjiro with a mixture of caution and resolve.

"This isn't a game, Hanma," Rias said, her voice steady and commanding. "I will protect my territory and my people."

Before the tension could escalate, a powerful aura filled the air, causing even Rias to take a step back. A brilliant flash of light signaled the arrival of Penemue. She descended gracefully, her black wings spread wide, casting an imposing shadow.

"Okay, that's enough, Shinjiro. Azazel reminded you not to make a mess, but I guess your lust for battle can still sway you," said Penemue, her presence commanding attention.

"Man, I really wanted to see what the power of destruction was about," complained Shinjiro.

Ignoring Shinjiro, Penemue faced Rias. "Hello, miss Gremory. I am Penemue, Secretary of Azazel and a high-ranking member of the Grigori. We would like to arrange a meeting to explain our presence in Kuoh."

Rias, aware of the Grigori's influence, had no choice but to let things go. Even her brother would consider this politically. She was sent here to train to be an heir and had slacked off, but she would not make any avoidable mistakes.

"Tomorrow at Kuoh Academy during the morning. I will be waiting at the gates," replied Rias before grabbing the unconscious Issei. A crimson magic circle, emblazoned with the Gremory clan crest and intricate runes, formed beneath her feet. The symbols glowed with a deep red light, before disappearing along with Rias and Issei.

"Shinjiro, really, what can I do to help you learn to control your battle lust?" exasperated Penemue.

"Relax, I wasn't going to do anything rash… just test the power of destruction. I'll never learn if I don't face more danger. People fear the unknown because it's unpredictable. Even with my quick thinking, there could be things that could overcome me. To become stronger, I must counter everything anybody could ever do and completely overwhelm them with my strength. My way of fighting relies on my strength as well as my mind."

"Just… be careful, okay?"

"Now then, Raynare," said Penemue.

"Yes!" replied Raynare as she prostrated herself, her face touching the concrete. Even with her body tired and in pain, she forced herself to move, terrified to even look up.

"Your team has caused an annoyance for the Grigori. Although it's not completely your fault, you will have to explain yourself to me," said Penemue, her eyes glowing purple.

"Yes, yes, of course," hurriedly replied Raynare. 'I'm so fucked…. goddammit, why me?'

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In a mildly lit room adorned with antique furniture, bookshelves filled with ancient tomes, and various mystical artifacts, a crimson magic circle appeared before Rias Gremory stepped out. A large round table sat in the center, surrounded by plush chairs and comfortable couches, offering a cozy yet sophisticated atmosphere.

Slouching in the main chair behind a desk overlooking the room, Rias sat in thought before she was taken out of it by the opening of a door along with the sound of a cart moving towards her.

"Long night, Rias?" asked a young woman dressed in a Kuoh Academy outfit with long black hair and dark violet eyes. Her voluptuous body would bring any man to their knees.

"That's not even the half of it, Akeno," Rias exhaled.

Akeno got to work and quickly prepared her tea using the items on the cart she brought before setting down a warm cup in front of Rias and starting to knead her shoulders as Rias picked up the cup and started sipping.

"Delicious as always," stated Rias, enjoying the tea as it relaxed her a bit.

"Fufu, of course. So, what happened?" asked Akeno.

"I showed up where my flier indicated Issei was since it was taking too long. When I arrived, I saw a human and a fallen angel, with the fallen battered. His name is Shinjiro Hanma, a freelancer involved with the Grigori. He's very important, I might add, because Penemue, Azazel's secretary, showed up, and they seem to know each other quite well. Considering the political situation, I backed off and arranged a meeting for tomorrow. I then reincarnated Issei at his house, leaving him unconscious as I found him."

"Sounds rough but look at the bright side. You got some experience in being a leader, and you get to oversee relations with the Grigori. This could improve your reputation, and you have a new-?" replied Akeno.

"Pawn. Hopefully, he can help me," said Rias.

"Even with my own achievements, I'll still be pressured to marry that," grumbled Rias in disgust, the emotion clear on her face.

"Anyway, we'll have the meeting in the morning. I hope everything goes well. I need to go inform Sona."

"Leave it to me, Rias. You need to rest," replied Akeno.

"But I—"

"No buts. You need to rest. I'll handle it. I am your Queen, after all."

"Fine," relented Rias before heading to her private room along with Akeno. Her room was within the old school building, which served as the base for the Occult Research Club. She walked down a narrow, dimly lit hallway and stopped at a concealed door, almost invisible to the untrained eye. With a subtle wave of her hand, the door slid open to reveal her personal haven.

The room was a perfect reflection of Rias's refined yet vibrant personality and her fascination with Japanese culture. Crimson drapes matching her hair cascaded down tall windows, while dark wooden bookshelves lined the walls, filled with ancient tomes and modern literature, showcasing her love for knowledge and history.

A large, plush bed adorned with luxurious red and gold bedding hinted at her noble status. Soft, fluffy pillows and a thick, velvety comforter invited relaxation and rest. Next to the bed, a small nightstand held a delicate lamp with a stained-glass shade, casting a warm, soothing glow over the room.

In one corner, a cozy reading nook featured a high-backed armchair upholstered in rich burgundy fabric, accompanied by a small table stacked with her favorite books and a teapot for late-night reading sessions. The scent of lavender and jasmine filled the air from a beautifully crafted incense holder on a nearby shelf.

Personal items were thoughtfully arranged throughout the room. A vanity table with an ornate mirror displayed an array of elegant hairbrushes, perfumes, and jewelry boxes, hinting at her meticulous nature. Framed photographs of her family, friends, and moments from her life in Japan adorned a side table, capturing cherished memories.

Rias sighed softly. The familiar surroundings, infused with elements of both her heritage and her love for Japanese culture, brought her a sense of calm and ease.

Akeno made sure Rias was settled before closing the door and leaving toward Sona, hoping everything went well for her king and best friend.

'Fallen Angels,' thought Akeno before disgust and anger showed through her facial expression.

A/N:

Well that could have been worse, anyways regarding the harem I don't plan to make it overly huge to the point where any notable women will be in it and I want to keep things cannonish. I will still be taking suggesting for harem members but will be selective.

Current harem members in mind(More will be added as plot progresses):

Rias

Akeno

Sona

Hope you enjoy the chapter, good night everybody!
