CH-8 : Pride and Mark

The next day after I got my first crew member or friend~

I was walking toward the forest while Mark was following me from behind.Today Mark was going to start his training~

Looking at me in front of him, Mark asked, "Hey Pride what will i do for training?"

After hearing what Mark's question i moved at fast speed and appeared behind him then slapped his head from behind.

Mark shouted in pain while rubbing the back of his head, "Ouch!! why did you slap me?"

I looked toward him and said with a arrogant expression, "didn't i told you to call me Captain when we are alone"

Mark looked as if he was enlightened and said, "oh! I forget.But you could have reminded me, there was no need to slap my head~ "

I ignored his complain while saying, "Now stop complaining and start walking"

After saying that I again started to walking toward the forest.Seeing that I was going ahead of him Mark quickly followed behind.

Mark, "So,Captain you sitll haven't answered my question from before~ how will i be training?"

I thought for a while then said, "We will first need to increase your stamina and your physical strength and then we need to decide a fighting style for you"

Mark asked in confusion, "Is there many kind of fighting style?"

Seeing that he was confused I explained, "Yes different people has different style.Some fight with there physical strength, some fight with weapon and finally some fight with devil fruit power."

After hearing about devil fruit mark became curious and asked, "Captain, what is devil fruit?"

I thought for sometime about how I should explain devil fruit to him,then I started to describe, "Hmmm~ Devil fruit is a fruit that taste like garbage but after eating the fruit it will give you a super power"

After saying that I continued with a evil smile, "like this~~"

Suddenly a heavy pressure enveloped Mark and slammed the poor Mark on the ground.Mark felt like he was pressed down by something very heavy and couldn't move his body because of it.Then the pressure suddenly disappeared again and Mark could stand up now.

Mark looked toward me with some resentment and said, "Couldn't you show me your power in another way? Why do you need to use it on me?"

I looked toward him with a teasing smile and said, "I could but it's more fun in this way"

Mark ignored my teasing and asked, "What was the power that you used just now"

To which I replied, "It's the power of gravity.With this power i can control gravity.Well you won't understand anything about gravity even if I explain it to you as you are too young."

Mark became speechless after hearing Pride and thought, "Aren't you one year younger then me?" but he didn't say it out loud from the fear of getting slapped again.

Then Mark continued with a look of longing, "I would also like to eat a devil fruit as it looks cool to have super power."

Hearing what Mark said I looked toward him with a evil smile and said, "Oh!! I forgot to say something important.Those who eat devil fruit will lose there ability to swim and as a result if they fall in the sea they will die from drowning~~"

After hearing side effect of devil fruit Mark became pale in fear.To Mark dying by the claw of that bear like beast was much better than dying from drowning in the sea.

Seeing the expressions of Mark's face I couldn't hold back anymore and started to laugh.I have say, I really enjoy teasing him.

Mark angrily looked toward me as he new I Intentionally kept the part of side effect for the last moment to make fun of him.

Looking at laughing face of Pride, Mark really wanted to punch him but he knew if they started fighting Pride will be the one to beat the shit out of him.

Mark calmed himself down but then looked at me with some worry and asked, "Then what about you? Won't you just die if you fall in the sea?"

Seeing that Mark was worried about me, I felt warm and said with a smile, "Well you see,my devil fruit is different it doesn't have any side effect.Now stop worrying about me and think of the fighting style you want to use~"

Hearing that I won't die from drowning Mark stoped worrying and started to think of which fighting style he want's to use.As for eating a devil fruit to get superpower,Mark dropped that as he didn't want to die from drowning.

After thinking for sometime Mark's eyes suddenly lit up and he said with excitement, "Captain! I have decided i want to use weapon style to be precise i want to be a Swordsman.I heard many storys about swordsman from my mother and it seems that being a swordsman is very cool"

Seeing Mark so excited about being swordsman I really didn't have the heart to say no.

So,I could only agree with him, "Ok!Ok! I get it you want to be swordsman, now stop talking and start walking.We first need to improve your physical strength before you could start your swordsman training"

As for Mark's talent in swordsmanship I wasn't worried.I believe that everything can be achieved by hard work.

After that both me and Mark started walking toward the forest.

After sometimes they reached the forest.

I looked toward Mark and said, "Mark first of all you need to run three kilometres"

Mark was shocked as if I asked him to do something impossible, "Three kilometers are you trying to kill me"

I calmly explained to him, "Running will increase your stamina, so stop complaining and start running"

Seeing that I was dead set on making him run three kilometers Mark could not do anything.So,he just started running.

Sometime later in the middle of the forest Mark could be seen laid like a dead body while Pride was standing beside him.

Seeing that Mark was already exhausted I could only shake my head, "Stop resting you need to do push up now and then weight lifting."

Mark who was laid on the ground widely opened his eyes and said in shock, "What!! I still need to do more training.Haven't i already done enough?!"

Hearing Mark I became speechless then I asked him with a serious expression, "Mark do you really want to become the vice-captain of my ship?"

Seeing that I was serious Mark also stood up and said seriously,

"Of course, Being the vice-captain of your ship is my goal"

Seeing that Mark was serious about being vice-captain of my ship I became happy but didn't show it on my face and said with some seriousness, "Then you need to traine very very hard because in the future many strong people will be joining our crew.If you are not strong enough your place will be taken by another person"

After hearing what I said Mark became silent and then without saying anything he started doing push up.

Seeing that Mark was doing his training seriously, I nodded my head and then went back to continue my own training.

At the evening the sun was about to set.Mark could be seen laid on the ground drenched in sweat but there was a proud smile on his face as he completed his training.Then a voice was heard 10 meters away from him which was mt voice-

I looked toward Mark who was laying on ground smiling proudly like fool and didn't know what to say.I could only smile helplessly while shaking my head then I said, "Don't be too happy, it's just the start.The training will only continue to increase.Now get up we need to return home."

Mark stood up from the ground and said with a proud and arrogant expression, "No matter how much training you throw at me I will complete all of them."

Hearing Mark's arrogant answer I made a evil smile which made Mark feel that something bad was about to happen.

Pride, "Well since you are so confident then you will be doing 1000 push up from tomorrow~"

Saying that I turned around and started walking toward the village.

Mark face became pale he shouted : "Captain you can not do that!! I was just joking.Hey captain wait for me."

I ignored Mark's shouting and kept walking.Seeing I was ignoring him Mark quickly followed behind me.
