Wedding Bells

As soon as Gal learned that Actus and Gaea were to be married, he began laughing and sobbing at the same time. He told the heroes that if Actus wed Gaea, she will take his place as a part of Galactus. The universe would then have a world-devouring Olympian Mistress named Gaeactus.

Mantis posits that such a being would suffer a cataclysmic internal personality conflict. actus was motivated primarily by destructive urges, while Gaea was guided by her maternal and protective instincts.

It was then decided they must drag Gal to Olympus to halt the imminent wedding.

Pluto and Ares stood at the top of the Stairs of Judgement leading into Olympus. They looked extremely uncomfortable in their gray tuxedos. Each held a stack of programs in their mighty hands. The two Olympian deities had been chosen to act as ushers, which caused them considerable embarrassment. As the Guardians approached, the ushers barely looked up. Pluto asked, "Friend of the groom or bride?"

Before they could answer, the next question was: "may i see your invitation, please?"

When the guardians could not present their invitation, pluto turned. "Actus has instructed us to do with interlopers!" and attempted to imprison them.

However, Hela had suddenly arrived behind them. She angrily snapped, "Can you great louts show no respect for the bond of matrimony? Be quiet, or i shall silence you myself!"

Ares turned to Pluto and whispered, "By  heavens, her tongue is sharper than our blades."

"My ire broils over that twisted snail Tus! When i find him, he shall wish he had never entered Hel! I will not permit this wedding!!"

She prohibited the ushers from attacking with a quick paralysis spell, and the guardians entered the great hall. Loki, who stood near the back of the huge hall noticed the guardians immediately, and rushed to inform the Olympians. Dr. Strange quickly teleported and confronted Loki to halt his misdeeds. Because of his repeated opposition to Actus' plans, The Olympian demigod Hercules had not been invited and was not in attendance. Zeus, who had insisted on accompanying the Guardians used his power and influence to command the remaining Olympians to refrain from joining the ensuing conflict. They promised they would not interfere, though they had never had any intentions of doing so.
