The shopkeeper took a quick glance at Arya before continuing on with her work, as if she hadn't heard what he had just said.
"Well? Do you have anything of the sort?" he asked, wondering why the woman wasn't replying.
"Child, are you asking me to sell you poison?" she asked nonchalantly.
It hadn't occurred to Arya that a potion capable of achieving what he wanted would be like poison to a mage. Having the amount of ambient mana they could absorb reduced would be like a death sentence if they were in a battle.
"Ah, I see. Thank you anyway," said Arya, realizing that there was no way he would find anything to help him here. After all, in a city full of mages, he doubted that such a thing would be sold legally. And though he was almost certain that there was a black market of sorts that might have such a thing, he wasn't willing to risk his or his siblings' lives for something that might not even be worth it in the end.
Just as they were about to leave, the shopkeeper stopped them.
